    1. This story has ruined all other fanfics for me. I just can't read any other fanfics until this one is complete. Looking forward to reading part 12, and other future updates!

    2. Alondro...

Where the hell did you get the idea that RD slept with Scoot's dad? I see no [shipping] tag, do you?

    3. Hmm, I think I see why Rainbow's acting the way she is. Tough love and all that.

Also, mister author: It's "Apple Bloom", not "Applebloom". :O

    4. I am thoroughly enjoying this story. I'm not much for words, but let's just say I think this is easily worthy of a 6/5. You're doing an incredible job explaining Scootaloo's inner thoughts and monologues. Even though you have a lot of them, they've remained interesting for a continued 12 chapters.

My only problem that hasn't been answered yet is what the hell made Rainbow Dash change? I'm sure you've got a reason, but damn it it's been 8 chapters and we've still got nothing. Aargh! Usually it wouldn't matter to me but the story is so good it's killing me! I really an excited to see how this gets wrapped up.

Again, 6/5 over here, keep up the good work.

    6. On the off chance that you spot this comment, I'm sorry, Corejo.

    7. @CassiusI'll take it this means you will no longer be a part of this?

If so, that's alright, I've learned quite a bit just from chapter 12 and can't say anything but thank you for your insight.

    9. @Corejo When you mention eleven months in chapter twelve, repeatedly, I really hope you don't mean we have to wait til' frigging September to see what happens

      ReplyDelete
    10. @AlanJCastonguay I said September because thats the month before the listed EQD post of October 2011. After reading comments I found out chapter 12 was released much later than that. This makes me wonder why it says the update was in October when it should say December.

    11. It's because of the new way they update stories. With the 'story updates' posts, they add the new chapter to the webpage, but don't update the post since they're not actually 'posting' the webpage.

And as to your answer, no, I will not be waiting until September to post chapter 13. I am currently reworking all of chapters 1-11 (for small canon reasons as well as my overall improvement in writing skills) in private docs, and will update everything all at once when I submit chapter 13. Be patient.

    12. @Corejo Good to know, patience is my middle name. Might as well use this time to catch up on my other pony readings

    13. @Corejo

I hope you submit chapter 13 soon :) Waiting for it!

    14. Transcendence 1-11 has been updated!

Nothing major has changed, so a reread is not required (though very much encouraged!).

The review process for chapter 13 has begun, so sit tight!

      ReplyDelete
    15. Fantastic! The update is much appreciated.

    16. awwww yeah ch. 13. shoutout to corejo!

    17. I get what Ch13 was doing, but it still feels kinda like the infamous "beach episode" in every cartoon ever; just a holding pattern. I'm looking forward to the big showdown that the story seems to inevitably be building to, and now I'll have to go reread the first chapters, so that'll give me something to do.

    18. I love this story so far. I patiently read all the way to chapter 13, I love the imagery, the story made me cry at one point or two. Please keep this going!

    21. Nice work on chapter 13. The wording near the end made me think that maybe, JUST MAYBE, she had pulled it off without realiing it. But no...the mud proved otherwise.

Also, I like the attitude that Scootaloo is developing regarding her work, her school and her friends. Her quest is becoming all-consuming, and her ego's writing checks her friendship probably can't cash.

Rainbow Dash has created a monster.

    22. Ok. I can just tell where this is going because I'm prescient and things. Rainbow Dash is doing this to make Scootaloo stronger, by forcing her to depend on herself instead of an artificial mother. Scootaloo will never be able to excel at flying if she can't find a reason that's not pleasing RD. I say this because it seems like the only way to reconcile RD's feelings towards Scootaloo with her actions towards Scoot. So, if it happens, just remember. I called it first.

    23. @Stech vin Happa

OK um. I am just going to savor how much of a dumbfuck I am for a little while.

Somehow I derped with the force of a thousand suns and skipped two hundred comments spent analyzing the motivation Dash would have for her OOC actions. Am surry.

    24. Is this ever going to update again? :(

    25. Corejo? Are we still working on this story? Is there anything we can do to help?

      ReplyDelete
    26. I just finished reading the whole thing after starting it a few hours ago. Damn good story so far one of the best.

Sorry to be vague but I'm trying not to give away too much spoilers.

I don't think RD was ooc. In fact what she did was foreshadowed pretty well. I forget the actual quotes but she told Scoots that she would need to grow up, That she wanted Scoots to be her own pony and not a copy of RD, and that when she felt like she had nothing left she would find more strength. It was like RD knew that something like that was coming and was trying to prep both scoots and herself for it. Sometimes you need to "kill your heroes" if your going to reach your full potential. I think RD realized this and helped Scoots to do it.

    27. I was starting to worry that progress had halted on this story. Glad to see it's still going strong, Corejo!

    28. @NLR Soldier

'Going strong' is a bit of an overstatement. It is definitely going, but slowly. You can thank Reading Rainbow's sequel for that.

    29. Glad to see Chapter 15 come out so soon after Chapter 14. The waiting is the worst part.

Any news on Chapter 16, Corejo?

      ReplyDelete
    30. @Salzvatik12
working on it. no specific date, though.

      ReplyDelete
    31. I just read the story today and keep hearing about the first ch 9. is there anywhere I can read it?

      ReplyDelete
    32. SPOILERS

      Hum. My guesses:
      1) RD's new-found fame just makes her into a bitch (entirely OOC, I really hope you don't do this).
      2) RD is playing the "A Boy Named Sue" trick. In character, but I kinda hope this isn't what you chose, as it's such a trope and pretty weak.
      3) Upon joining the WBs, RD found out something about Scoot's parents and is holding it against Scoot. I like this, as it could be in character, and a lot more original than number 2.

      /SPOILERS

In any case, very good writing. One of the best I've found, and one of the very few that actually deserves its 6/5 rating. In particular, I think that your dialogue is much better than the average for fan-fiction (seems to be where most amateur writers fall flat).

Take your time, choose your words very carefully. The wait is hard, but everyone would much rather a meticulously polished gem than a functional essay.

      ReplyDelete
    33. Thinking more on it:

      4) RD is disenfranchised by her new life as a celebrity athlete. She's so bitter and resentful that she is brutal in trying to turn Scoot away from a similar path.

Dash may be blunt, but as she is written in the show and in the first few chapters of this story, she wouldn't shatter a vulnerable pony's psyche just because she wants to encourage a different pursuit in life.

    34. I've been frequently away on business, but I recently caught up with chapter 15. At this point I'm mostly numb to Scoot's progress, half-way expecting that any achievements she reaches are just some kind of ego trick from her inner demons.

Still, I want to see her either succeed or die trying. Like, literally. I'm not sure how else she might resolve her mad dilemma.

    41. You completely lost me at the thing. You know which thing.

I completely gave up on caring about anything that happened in this story.

I skimmed over some of the rest but wasn't feeling it.

      ReplyDelete
    42. I really enjoyed it up to the thing, though, so I might give the rest of it a fairer chance later. Maybe even take in some of the feels.
