    2. Sad AND a comedy, at the same time?

    5. I'm going to read it. I can't pass it up. With that cute picture compelling me to read it.

    6. [Comedy][Sad]

      This I gotta see.

    7. How do you do a Comedy/Sad? That almost seems like a GrimDark/Normal.

    8. In response to the author's note, Celestia seemed natural to me (if not totally akin to the Princess we know and love). Good so far.

    9. Wait a minute...how the hell can this be comedy AND sad?

    10. [Comedy][Sad]?!? Must be one of those tragic comedies.

That tag combination alone has me interested.

    11. Came for the tags. Am staying for the fact of tackling race equality.

    12. Comedy/Sad? Very interesting. Plus I love that picture. Going to read.~

    13. An excellent read so far. Celestia's voice is recognizable, she's more of a free spirit here with a thirst for the pursuit of knowledge and truth - she's like a mix between Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. ie, imagine if, instead of going on about how cool she is or flying stunts or the Wonderbolts, Dash went on exited chatter about magic flows and non-unicorn flight and the inequality of social castes. She's young, but you can see the princess she'll grow up to be.

I'm dreading seeing the inevitable fate of Atlas though. He reminds me of Big Macintosh what with his fancy mathematics. That's why there's a [Sad] tag, because despite the hope going on know and the knowledge that things will improve, we know Atlas isn't going to be there for it, somehow.

    15. I have to say its very enjoyable - the puns were cringe worthy and that's a sign of a funny pun!

Hoping this gets finished! Really liked it

    16. I don't really understand the whole "unicorns think they're the master race" meme in this fandom. This is never hinted and if anything it's hinted that there has always been equality between the races: for example, there are just as many if not more so earth pony nobles as there are unicorns. I would think pegasus ponies, being able to theoretically destroy the other races through terraforming would at least be considered to powerful to control.

    17. Very good.
I never saw Cellestia as such a rebel but it suits her just perfectly.
Also all my lol's for the WAND Project XD

    18. A mix between comedy and sadness? This will be an interesting read...

    19. I look forward to seeing this through to completion... Though given the fact that there is no Alicorn named Atlas in the series... well... I have a feeling Atlas won't have much to look forward to.

    20. @TenchiFreak5

      Tragicomedy is a real thing.

Anyway, if the author builds it properly, it'll be a tragedy with enough comedy sprinkled throughout that the tragic impact is diminished somewhat.

    21. Cool story, brony.

Actually, I'm serious. This was awesome.

    22. Hmm. This is a very good story thus far. Also, Celestia doesn't seem all too different from the one we see today. Just... younger, and more free spirited.

    23. @Benschachar

Any of a half dozen articles by some moral watchdog claiming that MLP portrays a caste system in a positive light.

      ReplyDelete
    24. @Benschachar They are equal in the show's timeline, but that does not mean that this was always so.

This story takes place before the Princesses' rise to power and before everything was in complete control. Celestia mentions about finding a spell to allow her to control the cloud's form, which suggests that Pegasuses did not have control of the weather. And like today, the earth pony's farming ability isn't seen as being that important/not special.

As far as everypony knows at this time in the story, unicorns are the only ones that have strong magic powers. This would be like if a third of humans had superpowers; of course they would see themselves superior.

    25. There were, of course, the usual little editing issues, but nothing major. I'm actually very surprised how much I'm enjoying this fic. It's very creative and original.
Don't want to give it a five-star rating because of the proofreading issues and the rather amatuer style of prose, but it's at least a 4 for creativity alone.

    26. Personally, I'm definitely not convinced by THIS version of the origin for Celestia and Luna... but, the story itself is, well, rather good I suppose.

      *Read part 1*

      Celestia's ''not mad''-scientist personality is... charming ;).

    27. I am loving this story, and getting antsy for more chapters! Stainless Steel Fox, I hope this becomes an epic!

    28. I like how you really covered all your bases for this story. I couldn't find one thing that didn't make sense in canon. Looking forward to the next chapter!

      Also, Doctor Who reference!

      ReplyDelete
    29. Really well thought-out and entertaining. The prose is a bit rough at times but that's a minor quibble.

I think that young Celestia's character is completely believable and harmonious with her latter, canon one.

      5-stars!

    30. I really like this fic. It's very journal-ish - I really could believe that Celestia wrote all of this down in the heat of the moment. It gallops along at a nice pace but still gives enough detail to do the story justice. I'm really looking forward to how it ends!

    31. This needs to be posted again so more folks can read it.

    32. This is a really interesting story, very interesting way you wrote it and indeed also interesting how you explain the "filly tail" traits of Equestria.

Also incomplete tag? I'll be looking forward to seeing more then. :D

      ReplyDelete
    33. I'm really liking this. The Equestria that we have today didn't just happen. So much hard work, catastrophes and effort are going in to make everything liveable!

I hope to see more chapters, thanks for writing!

    34. I freakin' LOVE this story! And, unlike many Equestia origin stories, yours holds up very well.

      ReplyDelete
    35. Love this story, very intelligent.

Also- needs more recognition! Alot more.

    36. This story needs updates badly. I sing it's praises everywhere, but I find that this comments section is sadly bare. I tend to follow it on FanFic.net on my 3DS. Every night I load the last chapter to see if it gives me a new one...

Every night since Christmas Eve I have gone to bed sad.

Tomorrow, it will have been one month since this story last updated. I imagine there has been a Christmas vacation or something, but I certainly hope you continue. This and Paradise are my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE origin stories ever. I certainly pray that neither yours nor Slywit's stories fall by the wayside.

I love this story, and am getting antsy for an update! I at least hope it's a big chapter, since it's taking so long!

I'm going through withdrawals and I need my pony hit! /)O_O(\

I'll just go curl into the fetal position on my Celestia + Twilight throw, and shiver in anticipation till this updates! :O

    37. Also, when you DO next update, submit the update to EqD so it appears in one of the morning/evening story updates.

The last update was Dec 24th and for a long while, you were putting out weekly updates. Yet, this posting has not been updated since August 18th. That does not do such an amazing story justice.

I also would very much like to Flutterage at the few people nitpicking about the way this story is structured... It's written as a series of journal entries, not a novel. It's Celestia's Scootaloo scratches in a notebook, not the freakin' works of Ernest Hoofingway!

      B/ Deal with it.

I think it's a perfect balance of style and scribble. It's EXACTLY what I'd expect of Celestia's journal entries! I love this story so much! I also certainly hope that the Hearth's warming Eve Episode didn't do too much to derail your line of thought. I'd be OK if you were taking the time to work that into your story.

I have faith in your creative skills!

I'd also like to just simply thank you for sharing this with all of us!
      It's wonderful! Thanks!
