Winter Wrap Up ftw, glad almost everyone here has good taste.

    1. I'd rather listen to Winter Wrap Up, but Flutterguy Evil Enchantress is the single best thing ever.

    2. It takes me so hard to choose witch one I like more - WWU or AofD. I picked the second just because I was mumbling that song whole that day.

Also I like Evil Enchantress and both songs in CMC.

    3. Too tough. Winter Wrap Up might overall be the better song, but the voice work in Art of the Dress is brilliant. The frustration slipped into "Even though my fabric choice was -perfect-" is palpable.

    4. I enjoy Winter Wrap Up as well. I'm very disappointed that Cupcakes was beat by the Show Stoppers song...for that matter Im disappointed that a few of them got beat by it!
Voted Cupcakes if that wasnt obvious.

    5. Winter Wrap Up is the greatest pony-based song ever, obviously, but close second is Fluttershy's rendition of "Hush now, quiet now," with Flutterguy's "Evil Enchantress," coming in at a remarkably close third (in my book).

    6. As much as I enjoyed Winter Wrap Up, I just had to vote for Art of the Dress. It's stuck with me much longer that Winter Wrap Up, and cemented Rarity as one of my favorite characters.

The only way it will be knocked off my top spot is if Trixie and/or Gilda sing a kick ass villain song.

    7. @Lovecraft

Loved Art of the Dress too. Had it in my head at work for almost the entire week.

O_O Just thinking about that...oh my. Need to go change now. Oh Gilda~

    8. >had a song about making dresses for a royal ball stuck in head for weeks

    9. I loved Twilight's solo in Winter Wrap Up. Probably one of the most emotional moments of MLP. My heart went out to her!

    10. Best poll is best. ^_^

And agh, it was so hard to choose. My heart said Winter Wrap Up, due to Twilight's heart-wrenching last verse. My head said Art of the Dress, due to the lyrical brilliance and Rarity's astonishing devotion.

I went with Art of the Dress. That song *by itself* keeps me waffling between Suited for Success and Sonic Rainboom as favorite episode.

Kind of sad to see Giggle at the Ghostly below 5%. For the first proper song in the show, it majorly impressed me.

    11. Art of the Dress all the way! Favorite episode, favorite pony... I'm probably biased since Rarity was already my favorite character when I saw it, but oh well.

Winter Wrap Up is a great song, but I'm a big theatre buff and Art of the Dress is so showtune-y. Also, it included a "dark" reprise, and those are always fantastic.

    12. I voted WWU. But I'd really like to listen to a longer version of Cupcakes, this song just made my day back then.

    13. Most of the songs are worth a longer version if you ask me

    14. To be honest, I love all the songs so far, even the gloriously godawful 80's hair metal CMC song from the last episode, but only because it's so much win. they sung from the heart, even if they chose the wrong pony to sing it. Gotta give them that.

    15. Winter Wrap-up and Art of the Dress win by a landslide. The other songs are funnier, but not at the same level.

(Sorry, Pinkie. Look at the bright side - Evil Enchantress beat out Flutteryshy's Hush now, quiet now... and she's a year older than you!

    16. I would've voted for AotD, but Evil Enchantress is SO. DANG. CATCHY.

    17. So basically we've got the Disney contingent and the Broadway contingent. LOL.

    18. I liked Art of the Dress until I found out it wasn't original...

Also, why all the Cutie Mark Crusader theme song hate? :| I loved it. (and voted for it)

    19. I voted the Show Stoppers Song.
      Because outfits and performance.

    20. >Talkin' bout good taste
      >Giggle at the Ghostie and Hush now Quiet now isn't 1st
      Teehee~

    21. I had a very strange/funny idea for a new poll last night.

Who wins a 6-way deathmatch between the mane cast?

      ReplyDelete
    22. How can you not love Flutterguy's rendition of Sex Machine? His new album comes out Friday!

    23. That song from Show Stoppers reminds me a little of Crush40 and CarboHydroM, which I love. And people usually complain to me when I ask about where I can find more music like it, so I suppose I'm the posterboy of bad tastes here, then.

Though I voted for Hush Now, Quiet Now. It jumped Sweetie Belle so high on my preferred list of characters that I had to have it on there. If neither of those songs had been played, it would have been Art of the Dress by far. I had listened to that song dozens of times.

    24. I voted for evil enchantress because it got me into the pony's.

Damn you flutterguy, No one can resist your awesome jazz

    25. Compositionally and lyrically, Art of the Dress blows everything out of the water. There's just no comparison. Yes, it's a giant Sondheim reference, and yes that probably helped it along, but that doesn't stop it from being amazingly, transcendentally brilliant. It's far and away Rarity's greatest moment, and something that single hoofedly raised her status in the eyes of a gigantic portion of the fanbase.

Winter Wrap Up is awesome, don't get me wrong. I love every song on this show. It's just really hard to compete with all the things Art of the Dress accomplished.

You described my take on it better than I could. Agree with you completely.

    27. Winter Wrap up is the only reason I gave the show a chance. Someone linked the song on /v/ back in november/december when it was leaked and before long I had realized that I listened to the songe more than just a few times and decided to try some episodes.

I guess I'm a sucker for musical numbers.

    28. Fav and second fav came in first and second respectively, so its all good. :)

    29. Voted for Art of the Dress. Also, I would like to say that the 'glad almost everyone here has good taste' part was totally unnecessary. Besides that, good poll. :)

    30. I voted for Winter Wrap Up. For the catchy tune, and for the fact that the lyrics make actually sense. (I am not saying the other songs make no sense, they do. I am referring to songs that do not come from Equestria)

    31. I didn't know what to say to this one. ._. I honestly didn't. I think I voted for the Show Stoppers Song because I'd just seen it and it was incredibly badass. So just going on that thought eased my decision-making. Because Art of the Dress is brilliantly clever and well performed. Giggle at the Ghostly immediately made an impression on me when I started watching because I knew that a) the show would be musical and I LOVE MUSICALS HOMGZ, and b) Pinkie Pie, at least, had an awesome voice (and now I realize that all of them do!)

Evil Enchantress could only have been improved in one way, and they did just that (you know I'm talkin' 'bout Flutterguy.) Hush Now Quiet Now, whether sung as a sweet lullaby or a rousing gospel/dance number, makes me smile big. And I love all the others too, so,...yeah. Tough choice there. xD
