What a pleasant surpise! I'm so happy to see this continued, it was one of the first (and one of the my favorite) stories I read when I found this site.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your characterization of Trixie, still boastful and confident in her abilities, but with that lingering self doubt. Trixie not being native to Equestria was a bit surprising, but interesting all the same.
Anyway, great new chapter, hope there'll be more eventually. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to see one of my favorite stories get another chapter. I'm happy to see that enough interest exists to motivate you to continue Trixie's adventures. Hopefully that will persist and we will be gifted with even more chapters to enjoy in the future.
ReplyDeleteThis latest entry was very solid with good pacing and an interesting focus. Once again Trixie is on the move and must contend with various obstacles that impede her progress. How she handled herself during that rather perilous situation in the forest was especially fun to read.
The final part left me a little muddled however regarding the character that engaged in conversation with Trixie. At first I thought she might be part of a convent by the way she talked of Celestia. Her demeanor and mannerisms made me quickly dismiss that assumption though.
For the amount of significance the encounter had to the story, I feel that character was not properly expanded on.
Overall, I found the third chapter to be a very entertaining read. I'm hoping the fourth chapter will focus on Trixie enjoying luxuries like a large feast and some more pretty mares after an extremely successful performance. Maybe she hits up a rather prestigious city next, becomes a real hit, then gets showered in praise and affection? While Trixie can't always score big in every town, it would be a lot of fun to read about it in detail when she does. Trixie needs her ego stroked a little now and then to fuel her.

So, Trixie's talent is entertaining ponies and making them feel happy. Would that mean she's kind of like Pinkie Pie in some respects?

ReplyDelete@Cereal Velocity WHAT? Please please PLEASE continue! This is PHENOMENAL! Honestly, this is some of the best fic I've read, and it blows all of the other Trixie material out of the water!
ReplyDeletePlease continue - even if nobody else did (although obviously, there are others who will), I would read it! The only reason you don't have more people knocking down your door for more is because it's been a while since the last installment, so some people may have forgotten.
But again, this is superb - I consider this canon, honestly, it's that good. Please please PLEASE keep going!
Pinkie Pie and Trixie should totally team up.

Somehow I am getting closer and closer to "Trixie is the best pony" camp - so many intereting ways to develop that character. And on a completely unrelated note - after watching Boast Busters again, I have to state that Trixie certainly wasn't the one to blame;)
