• Nightly Roundup #773

Hey guys, starting off tonight on a serious note because there are some things I would like to clear up, especially if you are a follower of my Twitter feed. After putting a lot of thought into it, I have come to a conclusion that the fandom around pony has caused me enough stress and anxiety that it is possibly contributing to my problems. As such, I have made a decision that if my stress and anxiety from the fandom does not let up by the end of season 4 I will resign from my position here at EqD and disappear from the pony fandom completely.

This is not something I am taking lightly, but after the stress from the drama caused by the season 3 alicorn drama, the EqG drama (which still continues), being called a 'Hasdrone', drama during the media wars, the 'Down with Molly' drama which effected me as I am an editor on that tumblr, and just the general complaints and whining I experience everyday... I am just burnt out. And if it continues I just don't want to be a part of it anymore, for the sake of my health and happiness.

With that out of the way, onto the news...

  • Game Developer WayForward Wants to Do a Pony Game

You may have run into that Ducktales remake during a trip over to the steam home page, or maybe delved into the Shantae: Half-Genie Hero kickstarter at one point, but if you haven't, WayForward is game company with a massive repertoire of games.  During a Reddit Q&A, the topic of pony came up with one of the directors at Wayforward dropping this line:
Oh, and we're 100% not kidding, people - SO many people here at WayForward wanna make a My Little Pony: FiM game. Lauren Faust ROCKS. Make it happen, Bronies!
    Followed by:
You guys should email Hasbro - tell them how much you'd like to see a WF-developed FiM game. :)
While some are satisfied with the micro-transaction filled cell phone game we currently have, I know I'm not alone in wanting something with a lot more substance in the pony gaming scene.

Anyway, find the full Q&A over here. Thanks to the loads of people that have sent it throughout the day.

  • Story Updates - September 20th

Story updates! Get some reading done below.

  • (Rumor) Funko - My Little Pony Mystery Minis

I'm going to rumor tag this just because the announcement isn't on any of their official channels yet.  Funko has thrown out a marketing email showing off a new line of blind box style ponies (found above) with 12 possible outcomes total.  Vinyl Scratch and Derpy glow in the dark, while all the others appear to be smaller, blacker versions of their already available counterparts.   The message notes the 24th of October as the release date.

Thanks to Jake for the heads up!
  • Short Animation: Lyra Finds a Blob on the Floor

    Lyyyyyra, that kiiiills people.

Actually this has nothing to do with that, but Lyra and Bonbon banter is always fun.  Get it below.

  • 3/66 Days of Pony - The Ticket Master

Ticket Master was one of those episodes a lot of people actually ended up starting with.  Hasbro usually included it with toys, magazines, and free on The Hub's website, while a good amount of the growing pony community would point their friends here.    It almost seemed like the secondary pilot in a way.   For those that weren't convinced after the first two episodes, this one solidified it.

Slice of Life is what these characters have always done really well (though I still want my side story giant adventure arc Hasbro!), and this episode was the epitome of that.  We got a deeper understanding of  each of the characters one at a time, from Rainbow Dash and her narcissism to Fluttershy and her animal obsession.  The only one that was negatively effected was Rarity, who slowly fell into that pit of "generic girl character obsessed with marriage and fashion".  The others started building what would eventually be a full on "best pony" war.  Luckily the dressmaker would be redeemed later on, but I didn't know many that were a fan of anything other than her looks at this point.

Anyway, head on down below the break for some good ol' fashioned Ticket Master!

  • Drawfriend Stuff #931

Obligatory weekly Trixie. What happens when you stylize the epitome of style? Look at how modern and trendy that hat and cape combo looks. I bet even Rarity would be jealous of this one.

    Onward to art!

  • Meghan McCarthy Seeks Pony Music for Workout Mix

It's a pretty slow news day today, so how about we have a little bit of fun instead.  Meghan McCarthy is looking for the best of the best pony music, be it a remix of a show tune, or an original dedicated to whatever topic.  If you want to help her out, head on over to the tweet and send some suggestions!

Or just toss your favorite song in the comments.   I'm sure others could use a bit of music too.
  • Chilli's Tweets a Pony, Has to Pull It

Yesterday, the restaurant "Chili's" decided to have a little bit of fun and tweet an image of a pony with their color scheme and butt symbol.   Unfortunately, they were forced to pull it down after a tsunami of hate messages.

A few meetup groups have stated that they will be hitting the chain up with support in the next few days here (DC Bronies off the top of my head, though I can't find it on their meetup page). I wouldn't mind flooding the roundup with Chili's meetups.  If you want to give them some digital love instead though, you can find that their followup tweet here.

Thanks to everyone that sent it in!
