• 2014 Brony Herd Census Launches

This year's Herd Census has arrived, complete with a 50 question survey for you all to fill out and analyze the pony community with!  With 22,000 people responding last year, we have a pretty big quota to fill.  Head on down below the break for all the relevant information on it, as well as the form itself to fill out.

A new year is upon us, which means it’s time for all good bronies to stand up and be counted. The 2014 Brony Herd Census is now underway, and this year it’s for SCIENCE! The Herd Census has teamed up with Salem State University, so the results of this year’s census will be available to researchers for peer-reviewed studies of everything brony. In addition, the Herd Census is being offered in 8 different languages this year, thanks to the tireless efforts of our translators.

The Herd Census data is frequently used by news outlets as a source of information about the brony community, as well as by researchers and students. With your help, we can provide an even better snapshot of the brony community than the 22,000 respondents did last year.

It should take about 20 minutes to complete the census, assuming you don’t spend all day obsessing about favorite pony. Questions cover demographics, attitudes toward the show and the community, as well as a set of psychological and gender attitude instruments that will be used in upcoming research.

To take the survey, go to:

From there, you can select the language to take the census in (it’s available in English. French, Spanish, Dutch, German, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Russian) We’re using new software and hosting this year, and it hasn’t been heavily load tested, so be patient if it runs slowly, and come back later if it seems to be unavailable.

The census will run through the end of January.
