Ponies Around the World Submission Post - Day 1

Ponies Around the World has come to a close! We got a whole pile of entries, so it will be a two post thing.

It's really amazing how spread out we are.  I think every single major monument, and hundreds of small ones were hit at least once each.  We have everything from the Coliseum, to the Great Wall of China.

Suddenly I really want to travel...

Anyway, check the first half out after the break!  I'll toss part two up with the rest of them tomorrow once we finish processing them all.

(Note: The people that did not include a source link may see a bug if you click your name.  It's something we are working on for the next competition, along with less random spaces! )

Applejack in Spain

is difficult to see the monument in the back, but is truly the cibeles plaza of madrid, it is tradition for spaniards of the capital to go there to celebrate soccer victories, and the day of the victory against the italians was the perfect excuse for applejack to go to try spanish cider

Twilight's Hero - James Corck

I took this picture (and the other one I will send you guys) a good couple of months ago, almost a year ago, in hopes you bring back this contest.

I can't wait to see the results!

Rainbow Dash's Discovery - James Corck

Here's the other picture.

This one was taken in front of the Discovery ship that went to the North Pole. You guys can go ahead and have fun making jokes about Rainbow Dash and shipping all day.

"Minions! We may have failed at Canterlot, but the biped city of San Francisco shall be ours!" - @iStricer - Ohad Kanne - TGPFluttershy(Meetup.com)

This is my Chrysalis custom, on the San Francisco side of the Golden Gate Bridge.
She's planning her assault on the city by surveying the humans and the locales.

Taken during a BONC - (Bronies of Northern California www.mlpf.im/bonc) meetup.

Branching Off Again - JetN (Ethan)

i don't really know what to put here.
soooooooo...
i'm an aspiring artist about all ponies.
i have submitted quite a few things to the draw friends and even though they are nearly the correct quality they never get in.
i hope to finally get recognized and maybe a few watchers on my deviant art.

"The man who built the eternal rainbow, and his pony" - @iStricer - Ohad Kanne - TGPFluttershy(Meetup.com)

This is Joseph Strauss, chief engineer of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

the plaque at the base of the statue refers to the Golden Gate bridge as "The eternal rainbow" and seeing that it is San Francisco, a city that's well associated with rainbows, we decided that it would only make sense to put Rainbow Dash besides him, as a possible representation of the rainbow he conceived.

The statue resides on the San Francisco side of the bridge. Joseph however, stares into the city and the ocean.

Taken during a BONC - (Bronies of Northern California http://mlpf.im/bonc) meetup

Please Don't Fall... Grand Rose - JetN (Ethan)

Twilight and Fluittershy at the Mendenhall Glacier on a rainy day. - Sindiewen

This is taken at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau Alaska. Closest thing we got to a "Landmark" Where I live here.
Taken June 30th, 2012 on a rainy overcast day.

Note: The blue folder that the ponies are standing on is used to make sure they don't get all that dirty from the wet rocks.

New York Skyline - Teddybear4545454

Took this picture from the 86th floor of the Empire State Building

Knoxville Skyline - Now with 20% more ponies - Pink Champagne

I realize I am only allowed two submissions, but I do not want to waste two on similar images. There is another shot from this day featuring my ponies in front of only the Sunsphere in my gallery. If you would prefer to use that as my entry rather than the skyline feel free to swap them. My second entry will be of a waterfall. So, my intent is to have one Knoxville entry and one waterfall entry. Feel free to crop, rotate, brighten, dim, or alter this image in any way.

Wild Pony Plushies captured on film at Burgess Falls, Tennessee - Pink Champagne

As with my last entry, if you want to crop, rotate, brighten, dim, or alter this image in any way for your own use, you are welcome to do it.

The Lighthouse at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba - Cameron Tsuhako

If you would prefer me to have my pseudonym instead of my real name, I would be more than happy to change it. Thank you.

Cherilee at the Statue of Liberty - Harley Greene

Hopefully my thumb has no issue with the picture. I couldn't get a good angle because of the sun and the amount of people.

DHX Dash - Won Kim

As the dark tempest consumed the skies of Vancouver and the rainy gale shrouded the land, Rainbow Dash turned away from the DHX building and thought to herself, "Gee whiz, that sure is one snazzy building."

Oh, and there's yellow horseshoes in the windows... and that's cool.

The photo was shooted in the amusement park ''Phantasialand'' in Germany. In the background you can see the attraction ''Wakobato''. Looks like a nice place for Fluttershy and her animals.

Parity in Prance - Monica Merino

Pardon the straw, I can't show any part of myself when taking pictures like this one. Since Rarity is the #1 fashionista in Ponyville and Equestria, what better way then to take her to one of the fashion capitals of the world; Paris, France (Ponyfied- Prance).

Ponies Shutting Troll Down - Eric Cramer

Simply put, I went to take a picture next to the Freemont Troll in Seattle, and I came across this little gem, and I just knew I had to snag at least one pic.

- Mitch Gilbert

At the "Big Texan Steak Ranch" in Amarillo, Texas. It's seems kind of gaudy to me, but it might just be right up Pinkie Pie's Alley!

Rarity in Old Goa (Capela Da Nossa Senhora Do Monte church) - Dr. Silverhooves

There are a lot of churches in Old Goa, some quite spectacular. This was a bit of a hidden gem though on a hill overlooking the town. A 16th century church that has been saved.

JP Patches has no clue what the hay he is looking at - Eric Cramer

Do you know who JP Patches was? Probably not. I'll just tell you right now. The best clown ever, that's who. Back in the seventies when clowns didn't have to be ironic slasher parodies of themselves, and could actually do what they do best. Entertain millions of children. He had a really long running improv TV series, and ran around being amazing.

I'm studying abroad in Paris right now, and who better to bring along to explore Europe with me than Pinkie Pie! She's partied hard at several of the monuments, and this is her at the Arc de Triomphe. Notice how she does not giving a flying buck about physics. (Disregard the hand.)

Pinkie Pie poses before the Hermannsdenkmal Germany - Askre

Forgot the original toy I was going to use back home in Norway so I had to do an emergency shopping in Germany and found fortunately a store that carried Pony toys. An army of Pinkie Pies waited on one shelf, so I grabbed one and had her pose before the Hermannsdenkmal.

Rarity poses in front of a statue of Meteor, a famous jumping horse from the 1950s, several times Olympic gold medal winner and considered the world's most successful jumper of his time.

Rarity at the Leaning Building - Schnee

Although perhaps not a true landmark, the "Leaning Building" at the harbor is quite iconic - Rarity sure thinks so.

Anyway yeah i missed the first "Ponies around the world" and now I just hope I can be in the second one.
Greetings,
Pinkie Shy

Fluttershy at Mount Rushmore - Richie Holsinger

A little out of focus, but you'd be surprised how tough it is to take a picture of a small pink and yellow pony in front of hundreds of confused onlookers at a national landmark!

Pinkie Pie visits Alcatraz - Aeniug2

Pretty much just a picture of Pinkie sitting on the railing of a walkway on Alcatraz. I had some neat ones of pinkie on the golden gate bridge, but I figured there would be a ton of those already. :P

Travelin' The Lonliest Road... With Ponies! - Mike Vargo

Twilight at Titanic museum - Randina42

Info is found at the picture on DeviantArt.

Pinkie Pie's new party location - Annie

This picture was taken near the château Frontenac in Québec city, Canada. The castle is actually a hotel, built in the 19th century and named after Louis de Buade, count of Frontenac, governor of Nouvelle-France in the 17th century. A historical place, in a historical city! Might as well be the new location for the upcoming Grand Galloping Gala!

Pinkie Pie and the St-Lawrence river - Annie

The St-Lawrence river is probably one of Québec city's most beautiful landscape. The river actually crosses the provinces of Ontario and Québec, and reaches the State of New York. Québec itself has been declared "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO in 1985 (as the historic district of old Quebec). Pretty cool, huh?

The Most Beautiful Castle in Nebraska - SynCallio

Talk about living the dream! George and Sarah Joslyn were the wealthiest couple in Nebraska back in 1913, so they did what any filthy rich person should: they built their own castle. Joslyn Castle, 3902 Davenport Street, was built in the Scottish Baronial style and is just as stunning inside as out. Chandeliers, rare woods, cast bronze, stained glass, a conservatory - and the grounds are fenced in elaborate wrought iron.

Suits our Twilight pretty well, doesn't it?

Grade A Omaha - SynCallio

There is a stereotypical shot of Omaha, taken from the Gene Leahy Mall, of the skyline. It features the Woodmen Tower flanked by two smaller, red-brick buildings, with the shining glass shoulders of the First National Tower just off to the right. But if you turned around and looked east, you would see this elegant, faded sign painted on the side of a narrow, 130-year-old bank building.

Twilight, never one to follow the crowd, prefers this shot.

Dashie on top of the Sydney Opera House - Tom

I recently climbed to the top of the Sydney Opera House, it was amamzing! The view was spectacular from here, you could see most of Hyde Park and just about all of the harbour.

Rainbow Dash got to come, because she is my bestpony, also I wanted to enter her into the Ponies from Around the World competition.

Shoo Be Doo - Michael Carney

I and my wife are medical students and recent newlyweds and we bring Dashie and Pinkie on all our adventures! I have a backlog of pictures to go through but I like this one the best. Pinkie at Digital Domain Park/Tradition Fields - MasterofRoku

The Doctor and Amy check out Honest Ed's. Will they survive it? - wulfae

I figured you would get a couple of pictures of the CN tower, and other Torontonian landmarks, so I thought Honest Ed's was a great idea. It was in Scott Pilgrim! There was a whole fight sequence there!

(And in real life, it is that overwhelming.)

Have a Toronto castle! - wulfae

Bonus points for castles, right? I'm just really fortunate that this one is a not very far walk from my house.

Doctor Whooves and Amy were customised by my friend terru over on dA.

Much credit goes towards Dragon620062, she is truly a marvelous customs creator.

Pinkie Pie in Copenhagen - Emma

My a cappella group did a spring exchange program in Denmark. While I was out getting stuff to bring, I came across Pinkie Pie--my first G4 pony. I haphazardly styled her hair with a bobby pin and brought her along. I wanted to get her around to all the sites, but, unfortunately, that never happened. This is from the first tour bus trip. Enjoy!

In early June of this year Twilight Sparkle ventured beyond the Everfree Forest and into Equidland. It rained a lot and there were very few ponies, despite the name.

Directions from a dancing equine in Manetree-all - Frith

So many paths in the Everfree Forest! This one led to Manetree-all, which is mostly treeless. You'd think finding the way back to the edge of the Everfree would be easy... Fortunately this spry ass knew the way.

RD and the circus horses statue - Dapple

Picture taken at Kerava, Finland!
The statue is called "The Circus horses". I thought this would fit the pony theme, even thought my picture isn't the greatest possible. :)

Twilight at Giants Causeway - Randina42

Info at DeviantArt.

Apple jack in Mexico, at the palace of fine arts (Palacio de Bellas Artes) - Luis "El Oso" Graciano

One of our fine places in Mexico, this marble beauty is where great artists have been presented, a gathering for culture, home to beautiful works of art, and the only thing Applejack told me was "Ain't that something?" I love that girl.

The Spoonbridge and Cherry is... nice - Bryan S. (salomon90)

I put my real first name and last initial along with my preferred username in the name field. You should put more details on what you are looking for there.

Backstory for your enjoyment: After taking this picture a guy in a formal tux comes up to me and asks me to take a picture of him in front of the sculpture wearing a full out wolf mask while holding a violin. Of course being the open minded brony that I am I said yes. I did not feel so strange afterwards for taking a picture with a pony in front of the sculpture.

I apologise that The Big Banana is so clear and AJ isnt. My camera wasnt focusing on her very well.
