This one sounds interesting!
Also, I couldn't help myself not thinking about Megadeth.

Took me a few seconds to realize,
L.A noire reference? maybe? no? yes?

Could be a reference to A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams.

"If you find yourself alone, riding in green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled. For you are in Elysium, and you're already dead!"

Sorry, couldn't be helped given the title.

This sounds pretty cool, going on my to-read list.

Also guys: The Elysian fields (Elysium) was an afterlife in Greek and Roman mythology. An idyllic land of plenty where the virtuous dead would go, as opposed to Hades.

This story seems to have a Rainbow Factory vibe to it. Something seems beautiful, then you find out it's actually sad/scary as balls.
