      *shrug* What can I say? Not even fan bias or anything on my part; I voted for Rainbow. Twilight's Hime Cut is nice and the color is nice, too... AJ's ponytail style is fitting to her... Pinkie's cotton candy-esque mane is cute... Fluttershy's long hair suits her... and Rarity's fancy mane is quite nice. However... I like the unkempt style that Rainbow's mane has.

      Yeah, because unkempt lezbo haircut > beautiful, flowing, heart-shaped mane. Who the fuck could look at Fluttershy's mane and say that somepony else has a better one?

      Also, this was obviously complete bias. RD has the worst hair and you all know it. The only reason why she won was because most Dash fans always vote for Dash, and only post Dash, and really only care about Dash. The Rainbow Dash fandom has become so far removed from mainstream bronydom that I can't even call a lot of them bronies anymore.

      Dash's mane is rainbows, and undeniably cool, but I still dig the purple-with-pink-highlights rocked by Twilight. Rarity's is a little plain in comparison to theirs.

      I'm hurt, they just like RD's mane more, that's it :/

      as for me I was stuck with RD and Rarity. I like RD's unkempt hair and even better when it's longer, also I really like RD's bangs,especially at certain angles...IT JUST MAKES HER SO CUTE~ <3

      but I have to vote for Rarity because I really like the well-refined lady look, plus points for being the only mane with shading, and we saw how it look like unkempt and wet; she's just really beautiful.

      needless to say I ended up paying more attention to the two because they're my two favorite ponies as of now.

      It was difficult for me.
      Pinkie's hair is amazingly curly and gravity-defying. Not to mention hot pink.
      But Rarity's hair...is a beautiful purple with hints of pink, and big beautiful curls.
      Then, fluttershy's hair. Simple, but sweet. A cute little flip-curl on the ends, a soft pink. It's just so cute! Not to mention, long.
      Applejack's hair, with it's cute bang flips and big, poofy pony tails. (She's my favorite pony, but her mane isn't too amazing)
      But...Twilight's hair! It has purple and hot pink highlights in navy blue hair! What could be better?
      Then I realize.
      Rainbow Dash's hair...heck, it's rainbow! THAT is what's more awesome! 20% cooler or more!

      Seriously, all this hate just because RD won a poll? Are you guys even SERIOUS? And all of this: "Hurr, Rainbow Dash has worst mane and you guys know it!" is making me sick! Just because you don't like Dash and she won something doesn't mean her fans are biased! Personally, I like Rainbows and I really liked her long mane when the Mane 6 were at the Gala and THAT'S why I voted for her! See? NOT biased!

      But since you're so unable to accept opinions that differ from yours, I'm not wasting any more time arguing with you. Ponyfeathers, part of my soul just died reading the comments of this post.

      Rarity followers are amongst the most unbearable and most unpleasant people in this fandom. They don't understand the message of MLP FIM at all. MLP FIM tries to teach us tolerance and kindness, instead Rarity fans are doing the exact opposite as you can see here. How pathethic can you get and bash on a cartoon character?

      No wonder Rarity is the least liked pony in this fandom, it's because of her brain damaged fans drawign a bad picture of her. Poor mare

      I am severely disappointed in you, brony. I never once said which pony I voted for, and I never gave the impression that I was raging. I asked a legitimate question and gave my reasoning behind the question.

      I suggest you think a little bit before you come at me with such animosity, just because I am questioning your beloved Rainbow Dash. See, this whole "Rainbow Dash won BAW" thing? It works both ways, and you Rainbow Dash fans can be just as horrid as these others who are so clearly saddlesore over Rainbow Dash winning.

      I still think that the fanatics(not just for Rainbow Dash) somewhat have their heads up their collective asses and forever side with their favourite pony, regardless of the situation. I just wish everypony would actually put some thought into what they do as opposed to going with the easiest route of thinking and reasoning(which is often using none at all). Most people are like this nowadays, and it really upsets me on a personal level.

      Since when I was a kid, I loved colored things. I never said "RD won because she's RD. Hurr." For some bronies, voting on her "just because" her mane is a rainbow qualifies the person as a "biased fanboy". Probably, whoever says this has another voting criterion, like valuing the haircut over the mane's color, for instance. If you voted that way, fine, it's you own opinion. I voted because of the color, that's it.

      (Just a small note: In the last "best pony" poll on EqD, Dash ended up in third place, with ~17% of the votes, if I'm not mistaken. Now let's think: If she ended in third place in that poll and now she won, there were several fans of the other members of the Mane 6 voting for her. Thus, it is probably not a "biased fanboy opinion".)

      I noticed you gave your reason after I had already posted the comment, and your reason is just fine. Liking the hair colour is a perfectly valid reason. This is about opinion, after all. I considered both style and colour when I was voting and got caught between Twilight and Rarity (the highlights got me in the end). I don't care that Rainbow Dash won, even if I disagree with her having the best mane. I just have a lot of grievances with Rainbow Dash fans as I've had a few bad experiences with them. They literally raged at me in all CAPS as they told me of Dash's "obvious" superiority (I imagined them foaming at the mouth as they typed). I don't typically judge the many based on the few, but I've been finding that some stereotypes I thought were complete bogus turned out to be true, so I'm a little suspicious nowadays.

      And I remember that last Best Pony poll. I don't even think THAT one was completely fair, and I love Twilight (MAI WAIFU LOL). I think it was influenced somewhat by the recent new episodes and everypony was still riding the "high."

      Correct me if i'm wrong, but based on some of the rage-filled comments around here, I think some individuals are hating on specific characters out of their disdain for fanboys, or even opinions that are in conflict with their own. As far as I'm concerned, if anyone can bring themselves so far as to hate or intensely dislike any member of the mane 6, they're probably fanboys of another cartoon pony themselves. Nothing to be proud of there.

      Granted, the rude and obsessive fans can be a pain in the rear, it certainly isn't a valid reason to take it out on the cartoon ponies. It's rather disheartening to see spiteful comments directed at any one of the mane 6, considering they are all adorable and endearing in their own ways. Admittedly, as individuals, we tend to develop personal favorites. But I find it disturbing when one can hold a character in such high regard, yet develop so much hate towards another, all for the wrong reasons.

      Sorry for the rant, I guess I'm just pissed with all the strong bias (be it positive or negative) towards specific characters. It might be wishful thinking, but if everyone would just refrain from FORCING their opinions on others, and tolerate/ignore the darn fanatics that do, these issues could be avoided.

      Sure, this is the internet. But I thought people who are open-minded enough to give MLP:FiM a chance in the first place could set an example otherwise. I am dissapoint.
