I really wish it was AJ, but I know it won't be. As nice as Gilda would be, I want her to stay a oneshot if for no other reason than to save all her fanfics. So... New oneshot.

ReplyDeleteMy money is on either Trixie or a new G4 version of Firefly. If it is Trixie, I'm betting it turns out she is starting the trouble then taking the credit for stopping it, like that one "superhero" from Powerpuff Girls.

10 past 3 in the morning, 50 minutes until the episode; what do?
ReplyDeleteOne more option I hadn't considered before: There is no mysterious Masked Mare at all. Dash spends the whole episode competing for attention against gossip and a figment of the town's overactive imagination. Someone attributes being saved to a figure they barely glimpsed (who may have been completely uninvolved even), and the story is built up through gossip until all sorts of coincidences are said to be the work of this guardian angel pony.

If it's trixie, I hope to Lauren it's an honest redemption story instead of her trying to rebuild her rep. If it's the latter, that's pretty cliche and a bad sign of them taking the easy way out.

ReplyDeleteIt should be noted that the 'Mare Do Well' of the title appears to be a play on words of the phrase 'ne'er do well'. It reasons then that the eponymous 'Mysterious Mare' has a villainous motive behind her apparently good deeds, ergo Trixie (or a new character entirely).
