      #3 Oh my Octavia. Y U NO Saucy Link?
      #4 Such a cute style
      #8 D'awww *hugs Twilight*
      #9 lol those tests won't stand a chance with Pinkie
      #21 Haha, I was thinking more of Darkwing Duck, but this works surprising well also
      #29 Oh no..more d'awww ;-; What happened to Lily and Daisy?
      #31 Ooh, pretty cool
      #36 Very nice. You don't see much Inky art. Or Bellamina for that matter.
      #38 aw cheer up Trixie. I have a feeling that you'll be in season 2

      ReplyDelete
    27. #1: Congrats on getting the lead spot, WhiteDiamonds! I've already raved about this drawing at its source, so here I'll just say I love the expressions and the coloring. Lots of good drawings tonight, but this one's my favorite.

      #3: There's going to be lots of complaints that this one should be behind a saucy link, and I can't say I disagree with them. Panties on ponies, or really any attempt to sex them up, just strike me as ridiculous, but I do want to say that I love whatever that cello-themed garment is that Octavia's wearing.

      #4: Maybe Pinkie Pie has been rubbing off on Applejack after all...

      #5: A rather unusual style (which is more apparent if you view the drawing full-size) that I think works really well for this portrait of Celestia.

      #8: Terrific use of posture and color to emphasize mood; this drawing makes me want to comfort Twilight somehow, and it's rare for a sad drawing to pull me in that strongly.

      #9: Now you're Pinking with portals!

      #10: It's Lady Bubbliella Muffinda Ponyexpressia the Third!!

      #12: Twilight's not the only pony staying up late studying. Love the muted colors on this one.

      #17: Great portrait of Darkwing Pon-- er, the Mysterious Mare Do Well. (All of the portraits are good, but this one does stand out.)

      #23: I'm sure most people are going to interpret this one as Appleshy shipping, but as the artist said, "Sometimes we just need hugs." I like the gentle feel of this drawing.

      #24: Love the shadows; that's one of the best things about relaxing under a tree, really.

      #27: A tender portrait of friends comforting each other, I assume?

      #28: Brilliant concept, expertly executed; this drawing got me to chuckle out loud. Odd that my two favorite drawings of the night both feature Applejack and Rarity.

      #31: Love the stark contrast between light and shadow in this one.

      #32: Another to add in the growing folder of pony art based on real-world art.

      #35: That's a great concept, and while it's not immediately obvious that Trixie's wearing the costume, it's still well done.

      #36: OK, everyone who expected to see Inky Pie in one of Amidala's outfits from SW:TPM please raise your hand? Totally unexpected and unusual subject for a wonderfully-rendered drawing.

      #38: A great portrait of Trixie caught in a moment of weakness.

      #39: This evening's "dawwww" magnet.

      #43: It's only fair that they get to use the spa too from time to time.

    28. Umm... I think I stared at #42 a bit too much...

    29. Man, I knew this was going to be an epic Drawfriend... but 48 images? Better get to it.

      First, let me throw some love out towards the new banner. I had fun hunting down the butterflies representing the Mane 6, and naturally I found Luna and Celestia. I'll have to see if I can find a larger version at the source to see if any of the other ponies are in there somewhere.

      On with the Drawfriend:

      1) Outstanding bit of character work from White Diamonds. Grumpy, blushing AJ is just perfect, and Rarity looks as content as can be. Love it.
      2) Very cool and different... Like the highlighting.
      3) Er... Flexible, ain't she?
      4) That is a painfully adorable little Applejack.
      5) Oh, wow... the design work in the shading. That was a cool surprise on an already excellent looking Celestia.
      6) Nice softly shaded Luna with starfield mane/tail.
      7) Woah... I didn't know Roseluck had that much awesome in her.
      8) Twilight, look up! Fireflies! They don't want to see you cry.
      9) Pinkie should not have access to Aperture Science gels. Cool image.
      10) Derpy is trying out the Princess look. I think the shoes would take getting used to.
      11) The note glasses are a neat touch.
      12) Why does Luna look so sad? Twilight would love spending an evening that way.
      13) I like the Mare-Do-Well costume quite a bit, and this is a nicely done version of it.
      14) Neat angle and a different style.
      15) Ponies like pinning each other down this way. It's happened to Pinkie by both Dash and Twilight already this year.
      16) Mighty Dash did not strike out.
      17) I want Rarity to make me one of those purple MDW hats. Well, okay... it might make me look like a pimp.
      18) Fun Pinkie-Do-Well sketch. I liked her use of Pinkie Sense as a superpower.
      19) A very nice, clean portrait of the Mysterious one. I do wonder how they managed to get those elaborate costumes on so quickly. Regular super-types usually wear them under their street clothes.
      20) They look good cleaned up and together, don't they? Nice vibrant portrait.
      21) Mysterion and MDW would be a kick-ass duo. They'd probably die each episode though.
      22) Nice recreation of the BTAS inspired poster. I loved that touch in the episode.
      23) What a sweet pic of Fluttershy and AJ.
      24) I like the various textures and strokes shading this pic of AJ in the shade.

      ReplyDelete
    30. 25) A cool Celestia portrait with some nice energy despite a very reserved pose.
      26) Adorable. He's cold-blooded, so I'm sure the hug is medically necessary as well.
      27) A very sweet moment between Twi and her #1 assistant.
      28) Killer finishing move by Rarity.
      29) Oh... what a sad image to sneak halfway through this. Very simple and pretty though.
      30) Heh... the touch of icing on the top of the briefcase just makes this image, somehow.
      31) A cool image... it can't be easy to hide Celestia in the shadows.
      32) I don't know what this is a reference to, but it's a hell of an interesting image.
      33) A very cute Luna background.
      34) I like this lanky, extra-curly take on Rarity.
      35) Is... is that Nega-Mare? Cool! I want to see that episode.
      36) Wow... some beautiful work here! Pinkie's sister sure made good.
      37) You *know* Dash was at least somewhat jealous that she didn't get a kick-ass costume like the others.
      38) A gorgeous rendering of a miserable Trixie. Really nicely done.
      39) Heh... I love this pic of the sleeping duo.
      40) Who would win in a fight, Celestia's guard or Luna's Nightguard? Maybe just the viewer, if they look cool like this.
      41) Another neat take on the classic BTAS image.
      42) Very cute drawing of these two, but since they share the same voice actress it seems especially inappropriate, somehow.
      43) A very fun pic of the spa sisters!
      44) Dash looks pissed. Maybe it's the gun.
      45) What kind of trick have you been demonstrating, Twilight?
      46) Octavia images so often do such cool things with visual representations of music. No exception here.
      47) That does not look like a hallway she should go down.
      48 (video): I'm not sure this design would make my car cooler, but it surely couldn't hurt. Nice music to go along with is, by the way.

      Wonderful job, everyone! It took me a half hour to do a brief comment on everything, but they all deserve more.

      ReplyDelete
    31. ...Wow... I think we need a word BEYOND saucy for these kinds of posts.. :P
      I think that we're getting so much stuff we should be able to categorize the drawfriend into different areas- Regular & Shipping/saucy... That way everypony can see what they want without having stuff they don't approve thrown in the midst of it all.

      Christ, I hope Studio B doesn't look at this kind of thing too often... I'd hate for them to get the idea we're all into pictures like #3 :\

      ReplyDelete
    32. #28

      ...Is that a SRW Endless Frontier OG Saga EXCEED reference I spy? Looks a lot like the main characters finishing move. Only with PONIES.

    37. @shining-flare

      YES! It most certainly is the main character's overdrive attack. Only with Rarity, and Applejack posing as Haken Browning.

      And for simply knowing about it and even being able to tell exactly what game it is, I love you.

      ReplyDelete
    38. WOW, it's only been 9 hours since the new episode aired and there's already art of the Mare-do-well? Also #26 and #27 are really cute.

      #15 Uh, Dash, you seem to be stepping ... Oh, never mind, I'm sure you both know.
      #21 I never watch that show, otherwise I'd have a witty comment for that.
      #22 I am darkness. I am the night! I. Am. Mere-Do-Well!
      No one's made that joke yet, right? >_>
      #28 That's also clearly a game reference, but I'll be darned if I know what it is. Cool effect, though.
      #30 "Hey you ... Yeah, you ... You wanna buy some ... Cake?"
      #32 Not sure what's going on here either, but at least I don't feel traumatized this time.
      #41 I am dark - oh, I already said that.

    42. Larger Drawfriend today.

      I'm just going to comment on the Octavia pieces and a few others this round. <3

      Also, there are of course quite a lot of Mare Do Well pics in this one. I especially like... well, all of them. Though #21... it didn't cross my mind, but like Darkwing Duck, their outfits do look quite similar with those colors as well.

      #3 Of course a lot of people are commenting on this one. Probably both good and bad. It's certainly a very... interesting outfit I'm wearing in this. lol Sorta clever. I must say I do love the expression and the look in the eyes though. Nicely executed with them. Also, yes, apparently I'm very flexible. ;)

      #10 D'awwwww, she's so cute done up like that. And quite beautiful too. :)

      #11 That outfit almost feels a little saucy to me. I like how the back is cut out around the cutie mark. I think Vinyl looks pretty nice in it. Yes I do. <3

      #29 This one is really quite sad. I feel so sad for Roseluck. :'(

      #32 Rather cool pic. Both this rendition and the one it was based off of. It has that certain kinda quirky artistic feel to it I sometimes like.

      #43 Awww, they're so adorable. <3

      #46 Really really lovely piece. And I love that song as well.

      ReplyDelete
    43. Uh. Is it supposed to be Drawfriend No.268?

      ReplyDelete
    44. Way too much shipping/saucy for my taste this time around, and not as much mare-do-well as I wanted. *sigh* There hadn't been one like this for a while. I thought we had all outgrown that or something.

      ReplyDelete
    45. @bronydash
      Unfortunately, it seems the need for ponies with sexual implications is too high for Seth to have them linked anymore... I never really liked them being linked in the first place, but could accept it. This is getting a bit too much... :P
      I still say we need to get Drawfriend: Regular edition & Drawfriend: Shipping/Saucy edition. Atleast people can avoid what they don't like then.

      ReplyDelete
    46. Too many sex appeal pics for my liking... but there were tons of good ones tonight. Surely 47 is referencing something, but I don't know what. Can anybody explain that one?

      ReplyDelete
    47. @Harwick
      Thanks for pointing that out about the butterflies; I'll see who I can find, too!

      ReplyDelete
    48. @Azure
      Judging from what's at the source link, I'm guessing it's referencing "Silent Ponyville", but I've never read that fanfic or played the game it's a crossover with, so take my guess with a grain of salt.

      ReplyDelete
    49. 3 is saucy as fuck.

      i love 9.

      Well, nice, but WAY too many shipping!

      ReplyDelete
    50. Source 44... He... urr... she looks badass

      ReplyDelete
    51. Yikes.. any way to start 'mature' tagging images? Or perhaps an 'immature' tag would be more appropriate for some...

    52. Awww, cheer up Trixie

      ReplyDelete
    53. @Chip
      I'm with this guy too.
      Congrats to White Diamonds for the main image
      Lastly, this is a kids show still, most of those that make these things should put it somewhere else. I had to explain to my six year old cousin why our heroine Rainbow Dash was doing to Applejack in an image she found. She cried.

      ReplyDelete
    54. People don't whine at there is not enough sauce but the people who don't like sauce whine about there being to much..(Ok, 3 is kinda steping a bit far, but stuff like 15 is just cute and epic and should not be hated on just because you dislike Shipping) Art is supposed to be a way of expressing yourself and freedom, not getting hammered on by people with different opinion. Love and Tolerate my fellow bronies

      ReplyDelete
    55. @AestheticB

      'Cyber-Six'? That's not how you spell Darkwing Duck!

      Hm, White Diamonds' piece in number 1 is definitely in the lead as for my favourite piece for this edition of Drawfriend. As usual, the soft colour palette is ace and nicely compliments the subject matter. Plus I just love, seeing grumpy, stolid types get put into positions that completely undermine their gruff exterior. Well done.

      I really like Siansaar's piece at #42. I like the looseness of his signature style which has a real elasticity to it, and, gawd, the way he draws the snouts touching is just soooo cute!

      And based on Mysticalpha's Applejack piece in #4, it seems that AJ has been hanging out with Pinkie A LOT lately. O_O

      ReplyDelete
    56. @Multiversity

      Carmen Sandiego joke, no...I did do a doodle of Twilight cosplay Carmen Sandiego the other day, though. I have to admit, TMMDW's resemblance caught me rather badly off-guard. O_o;

      (Then again, so did the fact that TMMDW wasn't Trixie or Luna.)

      ReplyDelete
    57. So #21 is pretty much the best thing ever. MLP AND Southpark?? Amazing.

      ReplyDelete
    58. Yeah, this was a bit too much. C'mon, Seth, you have the option to use saucy links; why not do it? I wouldn't go so far as to have a Drawfriend: Saucy Edition, but using links more will reduce the amount of complaints you get while costing nothing.

      ReplyDelete
    59. Eep, oh my! I've never gotten the top slot in a Drawfriend before; it's somehow a bit more exciting that way..! =^.^'=

      And I do hope that mine isn't one of the pictures to which the 'too much shipping today' commentators are referring to... it's actually one of the Applejack/Rarity pictures I've drawn where I wasn't going for shippiness. Of course I did say that people should interpret it whichever way they saw fit, and I can see how it would look that way... well anyhow.

      @SgtGarand

      Thank you so much, you're very kind! =^.^=

      @jodyjm13

      You did indeed leave me a lovely long comment; I thanked you on my blog and I shall thank you again for your ever-generous support. ^-^

      @Harwick

      Oh that's funny, I felt sure I must have been the only one who sat and stared at that banner hunting down each of the pony-specific butterflies... =^.^= Apparently not though. Like you, I enjoyed it very much as well, and also thank you for your generous comments on my picture; it is much appreciated as always!

      @DJB123

      My dear, you have always been lovely to me and very supportive in every respect... I really do appreciate it so much. I look forward to your commentary whenever you see fit to post.

      Anyhow though, as if I haven't rambled enough already, onto the reviews~

      #2 Rather an unusual style here, but I very much like the energy of the picture; the lighting and overall composition give it a really great vibe that suits Vinyl well.
      #4 While I have a hard time imaging Applejack bouncing around with apple-laden baskets, there's no denying she's absolutely adorable!
      #5 This piece is simple, but I really like the way it was designed. Interesting pose/style and I also like the shiny coloring job.
      #6 Very pretty, I absolutely love the sky in this one! I can imagine the sun going down as Luna is ushering in what appears to be a stormy evening... really great job on creating a feeling of atmosphere in my opinion. I also love the way this artist painted her mane and tail; they seriously look like miniature stars caught up in a wispy haze or something.
      #8 Oh, poor Twilight! I can't tell if she's injured or just depressed here, but either way I feel for her, poor dear.
      #14 Some really interesting perspective going on in this picture, and it's unusual in the way that only Spike and Twilight are colored as well. I like it though, it's eye-catching.
      #15 I could have sworn I had seen an implied PinkieDash picture by this same artist before, not that that necessarily means anything I guess. While this pairing is not really my taste (especially not when it looks so angry!), I do like the artwork.
      #22 Yay, Batman!
      #23 Haha, you don't see that pairing everyday. =D
      #24 Aww, such a cute Applejack fanart! There is a lot of really interesting stuff going on with different textures, layers, and transparencies (apparently)... it's fun to look at.

      ReplyDelete
    60. @WhiteDiamonds
      The initial picture obviously is not shippe as the frown on A,J's face says it but you are right on how it's just your mind works
      Congrats on getting the top spot!

      ReplyDelete
    61. (me continued, pardon me again~)

      #25 This picture is pretty to me; the coloring style really made it stand out to my eye. Celestia's mane and tail in particular are pleasant to look at, and especially that one curl behind her head. It almost looks 3-D or something.
      #26 D'awwww~!! <3
      #27 More cuteness! I so love Twilight's messy bed-head here. ^.^ Adorable~
      #28 Haha, this is hilarious, though I do feel bad for poor Applejack. Still though, I enjoy most any situation where these two are stuck together and this is no exception... though I didn't catch the reference I still enjoyed it very much.
      #29 Aww, what happened to them? =( This is sad, though very nicely done, most definitely.
      #30 Why is this picture so incredibly amusing to me...
      #31 Oh my, very striking... the harsh contrast of light and dark was used most effectively in this picture.
      #32 I'm not sure what's going on here but it's pretty creepy... still nicely done though, and I love the unconventional tilt to it.
      #34 I always love seeing Rarity in her work glasses... so simultaneously endearing and amusing to me. ^.^
      #36 Good Goddess this picture is magnificent... I seriously love everything about it. Fabulous striking composition (it looks like a magazine ad), gorgeous artstyle and I absolutely adore her outfit... PLUS it is Inky Pie and that is always welcome! Love it, love it~ <3 <3 Kudos artist!
      #38 Wow another stunning fanart... I have to wonder how and why my humble doodle got the top spot while these masterpieces were left chilling at the bottom of the Drawfriend... go figure. As if it really needs to be said, the lighting and coloring in this picture were beautifully done, and I love the way it was framed; the close cropping really gives it a wonderful intimate quality and allows us to experience Trixie's pain full-force... just fabulous. Rock on artist~
      #39 Aww, how totally cute is that~ =^.^=
      #41 Yay Batman again! <3
      #42 I.... don't really know what to say about this one, other than the scrunchy noses are seriously adorable. Otherwise not really my cup of tea, but I'm sure some out there will enjoy it.
      #43 I can't even imagine how heavenly is must be to work at a spa and be surrounded by such fabulous, indulgent luxury all day; all the soothing steam and aromatherapy scents and soft music and all that... it really makes you wonder how the employees have the mind and energy to get anything done at all and don't just sit around lounging. Anyway though I'm beginning to ramble... I always wonder why these two don't get more attention in fanworks. Very nice picture and now I just want to go take a relaxing bath surrounded by candles.
      #45 Is this that same artist again? I do believe it is. Anyway nice job on the expressions, I think... Twilight looks understandably uncomfortable there.
      #46 Octavia just seems to inspire pretty floaty fanworks like this. Very nice job, I love the transparent music flowing and surrounding her.
      #47 This must be a reference to some video game I've never played or something... anyway, really interesting piece with its use of perspective (you get a feeling for the scene through Fluttershy's eyes) and appropriate creepiness.

      Yes, that's what I thought too, though maybe people take the blush the wrong way (Applejack being Applejack is understandably embarrassed being in this situation though). But in any case, thank you so much! =^.^=

      @Adam Crocker

      Thank you, I'm so glad you like it! And haha yes, I agree with you wholeheartedly... honestly I think that is a good part of the reason that I enjoy drawing Applejack and Rarity together in various situations, as one of them is almost invariably out of their element and it makes for some entertaining doodling. ^.^ But anyway yes, thank you again!

      @Multiversity

      I was going to, but have been beaten to the punch apparently. But yes, that was the first thing that came to mind upon seeing that hat, considering the fact that I never really saw much of Darkwing Duck.

      No one's listed your drawing as being among the 'shippy' ones, so I think it's safe to assume you haven't upset anyone.

      I didn't say anything for #6 because I couldn't think of what to say, but you expressed it perfectly; it's definitely one of the best Luna portraits since "Luna Eclipsed".

      We need to come to a compromise on this so you all stop whining. Yes most of us(including myself) arn't big fans of shipping/saucy stuff.(I hate all Rainbow Dash shipping but I don't care much about the others) But how about we have like a branch off/ desperate file or forum where that stuff goes. So if we don't want to see it, we click away, for those that do, win for them. I think this would help out a lot. If not, what do you think? Or do you agree?

      I suppose you're right, though many of the people who mentioned shipping with disdain didn't really list all of their offending images. Not like I can do anything about it either way though, so oh well.

      And glad I was able to help out, in that case. ^.^ It really is a lovely fanart; I can almost feel the heavy moisture in the air just looking at it~

      @Angerelic

      Oh you're quite welcome; I did indeed like it very much! I checked out your deviantArt source after commenting and despite your misgivings, I really don't think your Photoshop skills are lacking all that much... it all looks pretty clean to me. Also, since I neglected to mention it earlier (my combined posts were already nearing novel-length), I really love Rarity's expression; it's perfect. ^.^

      #38 here. Nonsense, sometimes simpler is simply better. It wouldn't get the top spot if it didn't deserve it, and being much happier it's much better material for it. I'm actually jealous of how you can make such simple and warm pictures look good :S. Every time I want to get something to look presentable, I feel that I have to spend an inordinate amount of time on it.
      Glad you actually liked it though! Also, close cropping allows me to avoid my nemesis, THE BACKGROUND =P.

    80. Okay, SO. Here is my idea:
      DO A SHIPPING DRAWFRIEND. Either that, or just to make those of us who enjoy the shipping pics: POST ALL THE SHIPPING PICS. Either that, or make it's own thread. Now THAT would be nice, being able to say HMMM i feel like finding some GOOD shipping pics. LETS GO TO THE SHIPPING THREAD. Anyway, here are my thoughts:

      15: SOUNDS KINKY (AND I LIKE)
      23: DAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
      26+27: SPIKE GETS ALLLLLLLL DA LADIEZ

      @Ironhoof

      Okay well first off, kudos to you on that gorgeous piece of artwork; I really do love absolutely everything about it and hope you are proud of it, because it deserves it. And secondly, I actually can understand where you are coming from quite well... there was a time when I never would have put up anything even remotely akin to my Applejack/Rarity picture above for the very reason that it is such a cute, simple piece, and far from anything that I would consider "polished". I have struggled against my innate perfectionism my entire life, and it is only (relatively) recently that I've gotten myself to loosen up and share some quick and silly artworks that I primarily do to entertain myself, as people seem to enjoy them regardless. So, I do understand where you're coming from.

      That having been said, I suppose you might be right and I certainly do appreciate your generous compliments. Thank you so much! =^.^=

      ReplyDelete
    83. @Ironhoof

      Oh yes, and I forgot to mention that backgrounds and I have never gotten on particularly swimmingly, either... there's a reason I tend to stick with cop-out sky scenes and generic gradients, haha. Hence why I constantly feel obligated to mention how much I respect the bronies, and artists in general who are so incredibly talented with landscapes and so on.

      Eep I keep getting comment ninja'd; this is what happens when I post while multitasking I suppose!

      Funnily enough, and if you will believe it I always do try and keep a paper fan in my purse at all times... especially here in southern California one never knows when they are going to need it. I got into that habit when I traveled to Japan and have stuck with it ever since.

      ReplyDelete
    87. @WhiteDiamonds

      Congrats on the top spot. I'm of two minds about the #1 position myself. It's really great thinking that everyone who visits EQD while the Drawfriend is there is going to see your work. (I imagine there are people who skip out on opening the Drawfriend, although I can't imagine why they would.) The one drawback though is that many people seem to look past the title image, especially seeing as it leaps straight to #2 when you open the post. Hopefully that's not the case with your charming image today.

      And I concur with Ironhoof (who again did a spectacular image him/herself.) Your art style is both excellent and appealing, and I'm forever jealous of the amount of character you effortlessly work into your images.

      @Ironhoof

      You know, I'm honestly not a fan of doing backgrounds myself, and I'm definitely not above any cheat to get around them. In this case, however, it certainly wasn't a cheat... It really did make it that much more striking of an image. Well done.

    88. @WhiteDiamonds
      Mostly column A, but the I figured a newspaper wouldn't do to much. Or a Featherd fan for that matter.

      Aye, I actually am pretty proud of it, the water for example COULD look a lot worse considering that I haven't ever drawn water before (seriously). That said, it also could look a lot better >3>.

      Amagad, so you've suffered from artistic perfectionism too? Finally someone who understands :3! What I hate the most actually about it though is the fact that I really can't draw something, unless I'm going to make it as good as I can. I feel that if I don't take it all the way I've wasted a perfectly good idea. That's why I don't doodle that much either :F. And it annoys me to no end.

      Entirely deserved I assure you! How long did that actually take for you to make?

      Hm, I've had similar experiences myself. Often when I show a sketchbook to friends I get compliments on the most, crude dashed-off doodles (and well, well below the standards of a lot of pieces here). I wonder how common of an experience this among artists?

      Quite common, I should think. And really, I think every artist shares the experience of strangling all of the life out of an exciting sketch as they refine it and tighten it up. There's a lot of power in loose, expressive sketching.

      However, I do think that some artists have far more appealing sketch styles than others. Mine I tend to despise, and it's not perfectionism... I'm lazy enough to accept imperfections. Many of them are just kind of ugly... but every now and then there's one that I'm fond of just as a messy sketch. And some grow on me once I've left them alone and come back to them after a fair amount of time.

      ReplyDelete
    94. @WhiteDiamonds
      Indeed, I know the feeling... I really feel like I should learn to draw better backgrounds when I see the amazing stuff others do. But then I get to actually drawing something, and every single time I leave the background for the last, and even then I go "bleh" while doing it =F.

      @Harwick
      Aye, sometimes cheating with the background actually ends up working better for the picture, I'm lucky it did here :P. Glad ya like it too!

    95. @WhiteDiamonds Oh Celestia...I fell for the link, and then died from the adorable radiation it contained

    96. @Harwick

      I've said it before, but as much as I respect your work that really does mean a lot to me, thank you. <=) I will admit that capturing a character's essence, acting/portraying emotion and all that is most definitely what I tend to focus on in my pictures (hence why I generally prioritize that over backgrounds, I imagine), so the fact that people notice is really a great thing. I very much appreciate it.

      @Travis Smith

      It is definitely a good thing. ^_~ I'm sure she's quite lucky then!

      @Ironhoof

      Water is a tricky one, that's for sure. And I am glad you're happy with your lovely work of art; as I said it certainly deserves it!

      And yes, I most definitely can relate... for better or for worse I have always been a perfectionist in most everything I do! It's really quite frustrating sometimes. I also know what you mean about feeling like you're 'wasting an idea' when you don't put your all into it, but as far as my pony-doodles go at least I always try and justify it by telling myself I can always go back and do a "finished" version later if I choose. Sort of like how the classical masters often did several reworkings of the same pieces. Whether or not I will actually ever do this is another story entirely, but at least it makes me feel better for the time being.

      And thank you again, you're very kind. As for how long it took me, I wasn't really timing myself but let me think... probably an hour all told? It's really hard to say, but somewhere around there I think.

      @yawg07

      Thank you, and you're most welcome in turn! All the artists seem to be on Drawfriend tonight, haha; it's fabulous.

      It really was a very neat picture, nicely colored and shaded and again, I love the way you tilted the "canvas" like that. It definitely draws the viewer in!

      @Adam Crocker

      As Harwick said, and judging by some of the comments here quite common I imagine. I know I recently posted a bunch of my own pony-sketches (and they were a messy lot, truly; HORRENDOUS scan quality too) and people seemed to like them... go figure.

      @SgtGarand

      XD Thank you. I've never understood why some pictures out of some of my batches turn up here in Drawfriend while others remain mysteriously absent, but oh well. I'm glad you enjoyed the chibi-goodness anyway!

    97. A pretty good drawfriend this time around. Quite a few I liked.

      #22: Great callback to an awesome show. Batman: The Animated Series was one of the few cartoons I actively looked forward too when I was growing up. Probably his best rendition of all time.

      #32: Lyra pushing ever so closer to her dream. She knows they're out there, she knows the truth, SHE WANTS TO BELIEVE.

      #36: Seriously, the Pie family really needs to get some screen time. As much of a fan as I am of multiple choice pasts, I'm really curious to see what the rest of her family is like (at least her sisters).

      #40: Screw Captain Storm Wing. That is all.

      #41: More B:TAS is always good.

      #47: Fluttershy, let me ask you a question: do they look like monsters, or angels to you? The Otherworld is there to lead you to the truth, if only you'll let it...
