Christmas Coloring Book

Looks like some holiday pony merch is on the way.  We have seen a bunch of random coloring books from stores like Dollar Tree and Wal-mart, but this is the first Christmas themed one to show up.  If you want one of your own, they apparently go for 59 cents at Walgreens.

That Sweetie Belle vector sure does have an awkward looking mouth though...

Thanks to Lucas for the pic!

Looks like she's chewing gum.

Either that or she finds herself delicious.

Idiot Sweetie Belle confirmed as canon. I knew it.

I really like her... mane?

Her left eye is also lazy.

After staring at that eye for a few minutes I began to see that side of her face slide off the rest of her head.

I'm fighting the urge to run to the nearest Walgreens to buy it right now.

I wonder if this hints towards a winter episode in Season 2.

~hopes it's true!~

I'm curious to see if WeLoveFine is going to be doing any Christmas stuff when we buy T-Shirts from them.

I also want to see if there is a Christmas Episode, will it based of A Christmas Carol, It's a Wonderful Life or How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

Sweetie Belle is holding open a book ala invisible limbs. Or maybe it's a variation of feather fingers.

@SuperGiantRobot

Well, they both are marshmallows...

$.59? Dang, cheap. Even for a simple coloring book it seems. If I see one I may pick one up. For that price it's like "why not?". lol

Now they need to sell mass amounts of stickers.
That mouth is messed up.

Best use of my 15% employee discount, ever. Along with some of the toys we're now starting to stock...

I love Christmas and I love ponies! This is the best coloring book ever!

Everyone's going on about the Sweetie Belle vector, but nobody's mentioned how Rarity's just as derped; I find her even more unnerving, myself.

Also, it occurs to me that white ponies aren't the best coloring book subjects, but then, kids don't exactly stick to the canon, do they? I think I can remember that causing me some grief when I was at that age; I could get creative on generic coloring pages, but I generally preferred to use the "right" colors for specific characters, and to stay within the lines. The kids around me, on the other hand...they colored like lawless savages.

The other day at IHOP, I saw a blue-and-red striped squirrel on the wall.

You don't know how hard it is to not buy pony merch when working at Dollar Tree.

We definitley need a Christmas episode where Sweetie Belle sings.

Derpy-sama of the Iga-ryu has gone through great pains to get close to the dressmaker, and her impersonation of the young sibling has been undetected. This night, the dressmaker will pay for insulting us with that order of shozoko. We specifically ordered dark blue, dark green and dark red, she sends us cyan, emerald, and PINK. "Darling, those colors are so drab! These are so much prettier and attention-getting!"

WHAT PART OF "NINJA" DOES THE PONY NOT UNDERSTAND?

That whole picture looks awkward...
Or is it just me who thinks that?

kathelu_muffins99 said...

its for children. don't expect super detailed pictures

Doesn't matter if it's not perfect, it's still freaking adorable. ^__^

59 cents for a coloring book. And yet, I'm sure this is going to get illegally downloaded...

You know, the whole "Christmas in Equestria" thing has already been discussed. there's even a song for it!!

someone explain "vector"

Ressy said...

I went to my local walgreen after seeing this posted on ponychan today but they said they dont carry coloring books.... Which section did you discover this in? Might go again to see if the employee just dont know or if they really dont carry them.....

@firestonex
A vector is a digital image that is stored as a set of points & lines, so that it can be enlarged to any size without appearing pixellated. This is in contrast to raster images (JPG, PNG, GIF), which are stored as a grid of pixels and cannot be enlarged without appearing pixellated.

In the context of this fandom, the term "vector" has become a bit more generalized to refer to any sufficiently high-resolution image that was originally made in a vector-drawing program such as Flash or Illustrator.

Rarity is making a rather long speech about how a refined and proper lady goes "Winter" caroling. Sweetie Belle is hitting the verge of Pinkamena and her crazy tea party. Hence the eyes and weird mouth. It's all in the coloring book people.
Hasbro needs to take a page (get it?) from those two awesome fanmade coloring books. That being said, I'm totally going to buy like 10 of these official ones and hand them out to friends.

Whoever is doing merchandise vectors needs to be fired. BADLY.

DJnickbeta said...

I couldn't find this at either Walgreens that I went to today, and both had colouring book sections... Maybe they're just not in yet...

Kristin said...

These books will be down the center aisle along with the other holiday stuff, probably in the same box with Peanuts or Pooh coloring books of the same theme and price point. Usually by the stocking stuffer section, if not on a display with boxed holiday cards, wherever they have room for the box. (That's where I got my G3 Minty coloring book a couple years ago)

Ah, Christmas shopping season. The time when pretending it's a gift for your kid/cousin/niece is the easiest to get away with.

My son and I looked at Walgreen's last night and could not find them. I also did not see any other 59 cent coloring books at Walgreens. Has anyone else actually seen them?
