@MagicLlama - It takes a village is two chapters in and so far the only shipping has been a reveal of a crush (besides Spike's). You might want to give it a chance.
Wohoo! It Takes a Village is awesome... Just far enough into the future to be interesting, every character perfectly in line with their in-show personality, no inexplicable, out-of-nowhere swooning of forced shipping (really no shipping so far, other than the usual Spike crush on Rarity and some hinted Big Mac crush on Fluttershy.) Not being a fan of shipping in general, I'm glad I took a chance on this one, and the second chapter is just as good as the first.
Cantering Death along with all the other grimdark fics I'm reading better update tomorrow. If that wouldn't be seasonally appropriate, I don't have a clue what will.

Oh, yeah you should totally watch Wakfu Season 2, Seth, just be prepared to have it end like one of these Grimdark/Sad ponyfics. Srsly, I was kinda depressed when I finished it. =/

Why is it that the only story updates that have been updated over the last few days have been Grimdark/Sad? I mean, I don't mind sad... but I don't like Grimdark. Sad adds personality to the characters, Grimdark is just depressing. I like happy, adventure-y kinda stuff! Why can't _those_ get updated?

I'm telling you, give Heavenly Turmoil a go. Grimdark or not, it's amazing, and adds great depth and amazingness to the entire story. Do try it!
