Well, this new thing is off to a promising, if kind of 'eh' start. Very jarring to just break into Ponies in Space with the lampshading like that, though. That one was just starting to get good, as I recall. I did like the line about the Eldritch Abomination, admittedly.

Good lord I loved the Luna vs a threesome part, especially when she said that Celestia ordered her to get a few of her guards and they were going to "run the train on her" XD, I was on the floor and couldn't breathe because I was laughing so hard from that part. All in all, the entire series deserves all the stars it can get. Hands down 5 out of 5!

Right. Luna cannot find any crime to fight, so she's going to create an arch-villain so that she can defeat them and inspire ponies to not commit crimes. There is no way in which this could go wrong.

It makes it sound like Luna vs. Threesome is a bit more canon than was originally intended! LOL! Not that there's anything wrong with that! :D
I love the superhero checklist. As well as the Shout Outs to Watchmen, Darkwing Duck, and the fact that Luna is narrating her own 'adventures.'

ReplyDeleteI kind of wish I could star these stories individually so I could give Celestia versus Time and Luna versus the Microwave the high rating they deserve.
ReplyDeletedont know what it is, but it's changed, it was wayyyyy better for the first 10-ish hell 20-ish. Luna in space at best was a hit and miss and Im hoping this superhero thing gets funnier. Sure the lines of nostalgia are cool but its not as funny as the earlier ones.

ReplyDeleteIf I maybe so bold as to suggest a topic for a future story, I was re-reading the Lodging arc and noticed that Celestia said "I think that the two of us should try to live like normal ponies for a while..." and "we can pose as normal ponies." I know you structured "Progress" to be just about Luna, Sundance and Hoyden, but maybe you could have a chapter about Celestia staying the week-end with them or something(in disguise of-course ). Luna is not to happy about the arrangement. They do the whole sibling rivalry thing, telling embarrassing stories about each other etc. and end up becoming closer as sisters or something.

1) Copy text from Fanfic.net
2) Paste into Word or OpenOffice and format as desired.
3) Print the document through any PDF printer, such as CutePDF.
4) Put that on your Kindle and smoke it. :)

ReplyDelete@Andrew ok, I was wondering as my current plans had my story linking back into yours right before the space story and I tend to wonder about plot inconsistencies.
ReplyDeleteFunny Progress updated today. I just watched the new "Regular Show" episode earlier today. The episode was "Skips vs. Technology". Skips (as shown in a previous episode) is very old, beyond what is natural. He was shown in this new episode today to have fought in the Revolutionary War during the late 1770s, and basically ends up a few hundred years later working as the maintenance guy at the park, which was once a battlefield where he fought on in the past... All his fixit experience involves manual repair and labor... carpentry, etc. He is asked to try to fix a computer, and fails to understand the technology... miserably! All his attempts to fix the problem end up making it worse. By the end of the episode, a virus is escaping the computer and is threatening reality, and he ends up destroying the computer. It was a perfect parody of the famed 1984 macintosh commercial!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't help but think of Luna vs. Microwave the entire time. It was weird. I'm quite sure it's only coincidence. 'm certain they were parodying something else... But was the first chapter of Progress inspired by anything in particular?
I just thought he whole thing was hilarious!
Well, I should sleep. I'll load progress onto my tablet tomorrow and enjoy every last morsel of comedy!

I know this is a bit late, but sorry Andrew, I disagree with making 'Luna vs Threesome' an official part of the storyline. That's not why I read Progress.
ReplyDeleteIf it were official but still separate to the main Progress arc, that is fine, but I'd rather it not be a part of the storyline itself (that is, you should not have to read it to understand what's happening in later chapters).
Still waiting for chapter 29...though i guess since he is rewriting it after the whole space story arc...
