1 Derpy with the Mayflower - TwiConnor

One of the coolest experiences I’ve ever had as a toy train enthusiast was visiting the Thomas T. Taber Museum in Williamsport, Pennsylvania last year. The museum’s LaRue Shempp Model Train Collection, spanning over 2,000 pieces with some as old as the 1800s, is absolutely mind-boggling. Particularly due to the shiny train my Funko Pop Derpy is posing with here: an original American Flyer “Mayflower” standard gauge set from the late 1920s. Arguably the most beautiful toy train set ever made, the Mayflower’s chrome-plating and gold accents perfectly reflected the extravagant glamour of 1920s America. A built-to-order item, American Flyer would only end up producing around 100 examples of the gorgeous set, as the stock market crash of 1929 and ensuing Great Depression meant the expensive train could no longer fit in most shoppers’ budgets. Already a rare item when it debuted nearly a century ago, seeing a surviving Mayflower set today is like coming across the Holy Grail.

Rainbow Dash has officially joined the force! As an experiences Wonderbolt she agreed to support the Warsaw Mounted Police and protect the city. You can see the police horses wearing special protective headwear to prevent for example pepper spray attacks on the horse. In the background there is the famous Presidential Hotel, which was visited by numerous world leaders.

48 Nakovana, Croatia - theOwtcast

Nakovana is an abandoned village on the Peljesac peninsula in southern Croatia. Nature began to reclaim it, until a group of enthusiasts from the nearby town of Orebic decided to return it to its old glory, and now it's a hidden gem people can visit (the village is still uninhabited, though). I think there's even some celebrations going on there sometimes.
