• Friendship Is Magic Returns To The My Little Pony Official YouTube Channel Banner

Last week, the banner at the top of the My Little Pony Official YouTube channel was changed. The new banner features Rainbow Dash, Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie and the 2022 My Little Pony brand logo.

This marks an end to almost three years of G5 characters being used in this channel's banner instead of G4 characters, as well as the first time since February 2020 that My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic has been shown in the banner.

While Hasbro didn't put any text on this particular banner to telegraph their intentions, it could be indicative of their plans for G5, or of what videos have been performing better. Curiously, they didn't choose to mix G4 and G5 characters, as they did for the Official Music Channel's banner in 2022.

For now, new episodes of My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale continue to be released on the Tell Your Tale channel, and the 2022 banner design continues to be used on channels in languages other than English. (The banner for the English-language Tell Your Tale channel was also changed last week.)

Various banners that have been used for the My Little Pony Official channel in the last 5 years are shown below.

The last banner in the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic style (until now). It was first used on or before April 12, 2019, when MLP content was moved from the Hasbro channel to the My Little Pony Official channel (which had previously been the Equestria Girls channel).

In February 2020, several months after the finale of Friendship Is Magic, a new banner based on My Little Pony: Pony Life appeared.

In June 2020, Hasbro appeared to announce using the My Little Pony Official banner that Pony Life would be released on June 18, without specifying where or how. This, of course, did not happen; the banner change was reverted, and it took until November for the show to premiere in the US. Hasbro continues to be a functioning company to this day.

A few more Pony Life banners were used in 2020 and 2021 for Christmas, Pancake Day, and promotion of Discovery Family. Interestingly, they chose to hide text at the top, where it wouldn't normally be visible.

Just one week after the finale of Pony Life aired in the US, a new banner with Hitch Trailblazer dropped on May 30, 2021. Leading up to the release of My Little Pony: A New Generation, banners featuring the other main characters were also used.

Two more G5 banner designs were used after the film's release: one featuring the Mane Five in October 2021, and the Tell Your Tale one in April 2022. (My Little Pony: Make Your Mark has never appeared in the banner, and probably never will.)
