• UNBOXING REVIEW: Bulls I Toys Cutie Cuffs and … Lil Flockers?

Hey Everyone! The Illustrious Q here with an new unboxing for you! A company called Bulls I Toys sent over a box full of pony themed toys they thought you guys might enjoy taking a look at!

And a soon as we saw the name for one of them, we knew they were right!

So let's go see what's in the box after the break!

No Bat'leth this time for the unboxing. I had a bunch of klingons show up at my house the last time.

They didn't do anything except stare at me though the window. It was creepy.  I'd much rather avoid a repeat of it.

So, now that the box is open, let's see what's inside!

There is no way Bulls I Toys didn't know what they were doing when they named one of their products Lil Flockers. That pun is delightful and makes a really good impression on adults… maybe not as good of one with the parents of 6 year olds, but they definitely have a good sense of humor.

I think I'm going to check those out first since the I'm having way too much with just the name so—

    —well. This is unexpected.

Looks like the Cutie Cuff wants to be looked at first. Alright. Let's go take a look!

As soon as I can get this off. It seems to be fighting me a little bit. It almost feels like a bracelet I had as a kid growing up in the 90s…

    This is a slap bracelet.

This is a slap bracelet with a plushie on it.

This is a slap bracelet with a UNICORN plushie on it.

    This is a brilliant idea!

I'm serious! It's a soft, very colorful plush toy a little kid can wear on their wrist.

It is cute as a button. It will not cut or chafe the wrist like the slap bracelets just wrapped in plastic will after several hours. A kid can safely sleep with it if they forget to take it off before bed.

This really is a brilliant toy design!

The box Bulls I Toys sent to us has five different plushie designs. All of them use the same fabric patterns, not surprising since good fabric patterns take time to develop, but the different choices in fabric really help to differentiate them from each other.

Let's take a closer look at them!

I doubt there is a person alive who can say no to that face! Just look at it! It is so cute!

The white fuzzy fur playful, but unfortunately will get dirty VERY quickly, however the blue muzzle and silver sparkles give this unicorn a very arctic look. Really cool.

    Pun intended.

The eyes on this one feel off. I have a feeling that's a manufacturing error, but somehow the defect makes this one even cuter!

The coloration for this one is a very light green as opposed to the blue one which attached itself to my wrist. Aside from that these two Cutie Cuffs are identical. So color choices are always good to have!

POKADOTS! A BLUE UNICORN WITH WHITE POKADOTS!

I never realized how much I needed to see a pony like this until I held it in my hands. This one is easily the cutest of the bunch. Yes, that is just my personal opinion. However this is my editorial review, so I can gush all I want about these toys!

This one reminds me of cotton candy. The coloration pattern just fits it perfectly. I can easily see kids getting a sugar rush from just looking at this one.

The Cutie Cuff toys are a true delight and kids (and the kids at heart) over 3 years old will really get a kick out of. I spent many hours playing with slap bracelets when I was about this age. Adding a plush toy on top of all that fun is just icing on the cake!

Price point of $4.99. You can't go wrong!

And with that, it's finally time to look at Lil Flockers!

I love puns. I'm not particularly good at writing them, it takes a gift to wring them well, but I always get a kick out of them.

Seeing them on products is kind of hit or miss. Some of them are amazing. Others are really freaking bad.

Thankfully this one is both brilliant AND allows you to get away with saying a really vulgar swear without actually saying it. Perfect for aunts and uncles who want to cause a little mischief with with nieces and nephews. A+

That said… I really do not care for chrome packaging. I have never cared for the look of this type of material for final packaging. It's definitely eye catching, but the ultimate problem with making the use of it is that as a package designer you need to leave the vast majority of the package blank.

Which means as a designer you need to resort to using basically clip-art to design the package and… yeah. there's a really good reason why this stuff is used primarily for secondary packaging inside of a larger product.

That said this is Bulls I Toys equivalent of a MLP blind bag. As such, on the package they tell you the odds of getting the product you want.

Bulls I Toys sent in five bags to take a look at. So let's go see what we have!

I'm curious to see what on the inside of the bag. I hope it is something good!

Okay we have a sticker. We have a checklist of ponies (I'll get to that in a minute) and a pony in a bag. Just looking at the pony, I wonder if it's…

Eh. I'll check that in a second. Let's find out which pony this Princess Cadance lookalike is.

The pony is named Dreamsicle. And this is interesting. Her toy model actually matches her art on the checklist.

It should be noted that Hasbro's blind bags do the same thing, but Bulls I Toys take it one step further.

There's 8 different pony designs on side one of the check list.

There's 10 different designs on the back. Total of 18 different figures.

Each and every single piece of art is unique.

This means that this toy sets has 18 different molded figurines. They just beat Hasbro's blind bag quality just on the sheer uniqueness of the molded figure alone.

AND THEY COME WITH STICKERS! STICKERS WITH PERSONALITY!

And there are 18 different stickers to collect. I have no idea if the stickers are paired up with a specific pony. It would make sense, but that's something which I need to confirm. Who knows, maybe I'll get a duplicate in one of these packs.

As for the figurine itself, you might have been able to notice this before it took it out of the bag. However if you weren't, I'll just state it outright. This figurine is flocked. A flocked figurine is a figurine which has been coated with a ton of small fiber particles. This gives the figurine a unique texture which just simply cannot be replicated.

The entire figurine is coated in flock. Every millimeter of this toy, except for the butterfly wings, eyes, and crown.

    Hence the pun, Lil Flockers.

I love the pun. I do not like this texture.

I have never cared for flocked toys. They have always felt weird in my hands. It's just something that I have never liked.

However the coating on these figurines are nice and even.

    The detail work is fantastic.

I mean just look at how molded this tail is!

Every inch of this is expertly molded.

This toy is really high quality.

I wonder what the next one is…

I do not care what this one's official name is. I hereby dub thee Princess Rainbow Dash.

I love the coloration on this one.

This one reminds me of a french candy. I don't know why…

Hey, does anyone have a box of  bon bons they could send my way? I'm craving those for some reason.

    I love this sticker.

    Love this sticker too.

    Mmmmm. Donuts!

And we ended up with a duplicate figurine! I think I'll give the spare to Dusty Kat at EFNW in a little over 6 weeks.

These toys are $3.99… this is the same price as the Hasbro MLP Blind Bag figures. These toys are a higher quality than the MLP Blind Bag figures.

    I am blown away.

These toys are awesome. Absolutely hands down awesome! If you happen to run across these while out and about shopping at Target (which is selling these toys exclusively) consider picking them up. I have a feeling you will be glad you did.
