• SeaBronies 2016 Cruise VOTE is live! Sep 27-Oct 5, 2016

It's a new year for our friends over at SeaBronies so that means it is time to vote for the new cruise destination for the 2017 event! There are multiple places to vote for so let your voice be heard by voting. Heck, maybe there will be a port of call somewhere near you.

The voting also determines the date when the cruise will happen, so if you enjoyed your time during the last cruise make sure to vote for a time and place that is good for you.

Check after the break for the full details.

A new year is upon us, and the seasoned seaponies behind SeaBronies are missing no time in springing into action! Voting on our 2016 cruise destination has already begun. You can vote atseabronies.com/vote, so go vote NOW! (Voting closes at midnight Pacific on the evening of Sunday, JANUARY 10TH so be quick!) Check out all of these amazing selections for Expedition 2, our third cruise event:

    1: Baja y Alta (Aug 29-Sep 2, 2016; from $319/person (plus $40 dues), including food)
A four-night itinerary featuring ports of call in both “Californias”— the US state of California (itself formerly part of the Spanish colony Alta California), followed by the Mexican state of Baja California!

Our first port of call is the gorgeous Catalina Island, home of port city Avalon. Named for an Arthurian island paradise, this walkable jewel is your gateway to the beaches, coves, and scenic beauty of the island.

Following Catalina, we travel southwards, arriving the next morning in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico! The resort jewel of the peninsula, Ensenada was our very first SeaBronies destination, during last year’sExpedition Alpha. The town center itself is a lively shopping hub, and the scenic surroundings (including dramatic cliffs and beautiful beaches) are the perfect place to go horseback riding, whale watching, check out the natural ocean blowhole La Bufadora, or even go ziplining! While you’re there, if you like fish (or even just fish and chips), be sure to try a fish taco, the region’s local delicacy. ¡Muy delicioso!

Ship is the CARNIVAL INSPIRATION. This would be our second voyage on this very ship!

REQUIRED: Passport (highly recommended), OR BOTH [a] an original state-issued birth certificate bearing the raised stamp of a state authority, AND [b] photo ID.

2: Chillin in Cozumel (Sep 1-5, 2016; from $389/person (plus $40 dues), including food)
A laid-back Labor Day Weekend itinerary to ever-popular vacation destination Cozumel, the perfect spot for shopping, swimming, or just enjoying a day in the sun! You just can't go wrong with the tried and true.

Departs from Texas (specifically Galveston), and thus easily accessible to attendees from both coasts. Denizens of the Lone Star State (shout-out to Nightmare Nights!) will find this an easy departure; everypony will find it relaxing. Features a day in Cozumel and two non-consecutive, relaxing days at sea to explore the ship, soak in some rays, and chill! Or, if you prefer, party hard— Carnival is known as a party cruise line, and many nighttime options should be available!

Ship is the CARNIVAL INSPIRATION. This would be our second voyage on this very ship!

REQUIRED: Passport (highly recommended), OR BOTH [a] an original state-issued birth certificate bearing the raised stamp of a state authority, AND [b] photo ID.

3: Return to Ensenada (Sep 2-5, 2016; from $379/person (plus $40 dues), including food)

This three-night Labor Day Weekend jaunt has an itinerary that’ll be very familiar to those who remember our maiden voyage, Expedition Alpha: It’s the same route! But there’s always something new to do in sunnyEnsenada, the “love boat” port of Baja California. Take a tour bus to the local cultural center and learn about its past as a Prohibition-era resort casino. Sip frosty margaritas and pick up some adorable local knick-knacks, then take a quick jaunt out to the dramatic cliffs of the peninsula and savor a fish taco. Gringos (and gringas) live well in Ensenada— come see why!

REQUIRED: Passport (highly recommended), OR BOTH [a] an original state-issued birth certificate bearing the raised stamp of a state authority, AND [b] photo ID.

4: Hoof it to Vanhoover (Sep 27-Oct 5, 2016; from $309/person (plus $40 dues), including food)
This unique itinerary will feature a visit to our friends in the great white north, in particular Vancouver, the city where ‘Friendship is Magic’ is created. Who knows what surprises might be in store as we travel through the birthplace of our favorite show! Featuring the majestic beauty of the Pacific Northwest, this cruise will also give us an opportunity to get a taste of Canadian hospitality. (Try the poutine; it’s great!)

Those of us who can make it a day early will gather in Vancouver the day before the cruise and have some fun exploring the city. (If not, no worries!) After departing Vancouver, we will sail to genteel and picturesque Victoria, BC. The next day, we dock in sleepy Astoria, Oregon (population 9,521) where the film The Goonies was set.

Following that, we get to enjoy two leisurely days at sea, hugging the gorgeous Pacific coast, until finally we dock at Los Angeles (home to series creator Lauren Faust, incidentally!).

Ship is the NORWEGIAN JEWEL. This would be our second voyage on a Norwegian vessel.

REQUIRED: Passport. Passport cards are NOT valid for international flights; a passport card will be sufficient ONLY if you are DRIVING to and/or from Canada.

5: Daring Do and the Marevelous Mayans (Jan 3-8, 2017; from $329/person (plus $40 dues), including food)
Cruise to beautiful Mexican ports of call and explore ancient Mayan ruins (with the help of professional tour guides, of course). Our most exotic choice of the bunch, this itinerary would take us to Costa Maya, a recently developed purpose-built cruise port that sees less traffic than any other destination we've considered thus far. Just an excursion away are the ruins of the Mayan city of Chacchoben, to which we will book a group excursion.

But wait, that’s not all. We also get a day to ship, swim and sun in ever-popular cruise destination Cozumel!

Sweetening the deal, this cruise leaves from New Orleans, an absolutely one of a kind city experiencing a strong resurgence in the decade since Hurricane Katrina. There will be ample time to enjoy beignets in the French quarter while sipping coffee and people-watching the city's always lively crowds. Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Ship is the CARNIVAL DREAM. This would be our second voyage on a Carnival vessel.

    REQUIRED: Passport
