• Ponycon NYC Announces Lena Hall for Next Month's Event

Good news for all of you (and us) heading to Ponycon next month! Lena Hall is apparently going to be joining in on the action! A new press release has announced her for the event.

Head on down below the break to check it out!

Tony Winner and Grammy nominee at Ponycon in February

A special musical performance will take place at Ponycon that will include Tony Award winner and Grammy nominee Lena Hall.

Hall voiced a pony character in the most recent season of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic television show. The character “Countess Coloratura” (a.k.a. Rara) is a singer performing her first ever concert in Ponyville. Likewise, this is Lena Hall’s FIRST My Little Pony convention appearance.
She will perform “The Magic Inside,” a song she sang in the show’s 5th season. Others performing at that event include more singing voices of My Little Pony including show star Ashleigh Ball (the voice for Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack) Peter New, Vincent Tong, Ingrid Nilson, Andrew Francis, Shannon Chan-Kent and Kazumi Evans.
Singer Lady Aria Phantasy (opera and music from the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic television show) and The Shake Ups in Ponyville will perform their MLP-inspired tunes which are a kids favorite.
Taking place February 13th, 14th and 15th Ponycon is an all ages, inclusive fan convention with programming for children and families as well as Bronies (teenage and adult fans of the show).
    More about Lena Hall:
Tony Winner and Grammy nominee Lena Hall just completed touring the US and Canada with Josh Groban on the Stages tour and ended her critically acclaimed run starring as Yitzhak in the hit Broadway revival of Hedwig and the Angry Inch for which she won the 2014 Tony Award for Featured Actress in a Musical. Prior to Hedwig, she starred as Nicola in the Tony Award winning musical Kinky Boots. Lena sold out her solo shows at the legendary Café Carlyle, Feinsteins / 54 Below and Feinsteins San Francisco and her live album “Sin & Salvation: Live At the Carlyle” can be found on iTunes, CD Baby, Amazon, et al.

TV and film roles include upcoming guest roles on HBO’s Girls, Good Girls Revolt (Amazon Prime), and My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
Born and raised in San Francisco’s Haight Ashbury, Lena Hall traveled the world as a young performer, receiving her first big break singing for Pope John Paul II at Candlestick Stadium for over 50,000 people at the age of 7. As a teenager Hall was a member of the Young People’s Teen Musical Theatre Company in San Francisco and eventually joined the national tour of “Cats”. Lena currently resides in New York City.
