• John de Lancie Comes to TrotCon 2016!

With the return of both Lauren Faust and John de Lancie to conventions lately this year and the next are looking to be amazing times to visit a convention if you haven't already! That's right, TrotCon is here to announce the attendance of Discord himself, John de Lancie.

Check on after the break for the full presser.

In the four years since TrotCon became a thing, we’ve brought you a heaping helping of esteemed guests from the My Little Pony community, from our share of splendid community guests to fan-favorite official folks like M.A. Larson, Andrea Libman, Kelly Sheridan, Peter New, Dave Polsky, Brian Drummond, Brynna Drummond, Steffan Andrews and Heather Breckel.

And in 2016, we’re adding a new face to that list. Don’t worry, it’s one with whom you’re most familiar. You know, if you dig horns, a snaggletooth, yellow eyes and all that.

For TrotCon 2016, we’re bringing Discord himself, John de Lancie, to Columbus, Ohio!

Within the MLP fandom, you know de Lancie best for his turn as the sometimes-heinous, sometimes-snuggly, sometimes-villain Discord, who’s gone from Princess Celestia’s greatest foe (and a snazzy lawn ornament) to something like everyone’s favorite uncle who pops up a few times a year (see: season) to bejewel us with his presence, with a few practical jokes along the way.

Of course, there’s way more to de Lancie than Discord. The longtime actor first came to prominence as Q in multiple iterations of Star Trek, including eight episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. He’s also lent his vocal talents to Invader Zim, The Angry Beavers and more, and has appeared in dozens of TV shows and films, along with multiple roles on stage.

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet de Lancie next July, whether it’s at autograph signing or during panels — the contents of which we’ll reveal soon, but trust us, you’re going to like these. He’ll also be available as part of some of our VIP events, which you — yes, you! — can attend as a higher-tier sponsor badge holder at TrotCon 2016.

That’s not all: We have a community guest announcement for you, too! Boy howdy!

We’ll be welcoming back TJ Carson, aka Pirate Dash, to TrotCon next year! Carson, who you’ll likely remember as a guest this year as well, is best known as the moderator of Ask Pirate Dash — and a rad artist, to boot. Find him at panels around the convention or even as part of our vendor hall with Pirate Dash’s Treasures. He joins our already-announced community guest, Pixelkitties!

Also, calling all artists! Wanna join Pirate Dash and Pixelkitties in selling your wares at TrotCon 2016? Artist Alley apps will be going up in January, so don’t fret, you’ll get your chance at an application soon! Our musician and panelist applications will be available by the end of this month, while staff applications are currently live on our site.

Oh, and one more thing: we’ll be having a VIP dinner for the Draconequus-tier sponsor badge holders. Our VIPs will be there. Will you? Just a SMALL amount of these badges are still available, so get crackin’, y’all.

Wanna join us? Badges are still available for 2016, with weekend passes running $40 through the end of January. We’ve also got plenty of sponsor badges for sale at various prices, tiers and perks.

TrotCon 2016, our fifth convention, will be held July 15-17, 2016, at the Crowne Plaza Columbus North in Columbus, Ohio.
