ReplyDelete#1: Makes me wonder if they did base that pony off of the Rainbow Dash model... Love the expressions, and the animation's well done.
ReplyDelete#3: This may be the only time that jelly pony hasn't looked vaguely creepy. And the tags seem to indicate Jamboree as a possible name for him, which I actually quite like. (That fact, of course, dooms it to non-acceptance.) Nice drawing, and Derpy and Dinky look particularly cute here.
#4: Really cute team-up; good job with the characters' poses and expressions, and nice eye for details, such as the chips on the cutlasses.
#5: Derpy knows that who loves her is more important than who's angry over her.
#7: Excessively-silly Twilight for an excessively-silly meme; I like it.
#8: I like the playfullness of this portrat of the Muffin Queen.
#10: This is a really touching drawing; I like the lighting and the almost monochromatic coloring.
#11: Actually, I can totally see them going shopping together afterwards, though I have to wonder why Derpy's selling bananas. And is that Jamboree outside of his giant jelly jar? Nice colors, and great job on Iron Will.
#16: Good job of portraying Fluttershy's inner struggle.
#17: Young Granny Smith was quite cute, and the sepia-like colors really make this feel like an old photograph.
#21: This just really seems to fit Derpy, and I'm also impressed at the out-of-focus effects on the background.
#25: I think it's mainly the pose, though the panties might help push it over the line. Not that I think this is really saucy, mind; Fluttershy mostly just looks cute. I still think panties don't really belong on ponies, though.
#28: What's this? A Daring Do drawing where she's just being cute? Really like the style on this one.
#34: Excellent portrait of Surprise; the eyes are particularly mesmerizing.

Eh...25 isn't bad, but it's certainly in that gray zone, and I'm liking the more, "better safe than sorry," approach to saucy pics. Less crap storms in the comments.
ReplyDeleteBut 25 bugs me. Why? It's a cute picture, and I see absolutely no reason why the artist needed to add panties to her. Was it meant to be a dawwwww type picture, or a saucy pic? In this case the sauciness just takes away from the overall picture, which is very dawww worthy.
As to the whole, "Why are adding clothes considered saucy?"
It's a show about ponies. Sentient beings no doubt, and they dress up in elaborate outfits for special occasions, but for the most part, just like in the real world, the ponies don't wear any clothes.
Whenever they do wear outfits, the outfit itself dictates what's going on. Is it an elaborate dress? Probably a formal/gala type event. Is it sportswear? Probably something athletic.
So if an artist adds something like panties, a thong, bra, etc, the outfit basically states, "Something sexual," as the occasion, which is why adding clothes in some instances can be considered sauce.
