ReplyDelete#1 is the last of that artist's portraits of the mane 6, and while it's not quite as good as the Pinkie Pie one from last week, it's still an excellent drawing; great colors and details, nice lighting, and I love Rarity's expression, wrapped up in the joy of creation.

#3: Well, green would certainly go better with her coat than pink would. More happy Rarity, and I think I'd like to see something more along these lines, with Rarity designing something fitting for Luna without worrying about making her less threatening. (Or pink.)
#6: I don't know how faithful this drawing is to the TV series it's spoofing, but Celestia as Danny DeVito is hilarious.
#7: Nice atmosphere; it definitely works better at full size, as some details get obscured in this thumbnail view.

#20: A bit of an unusual, shiny art style, but a cute Derpy portrait nonetheless.
#21: Silly and cute Lyrabon pic. The art style reminds me of BrainDPS and TheWormOuroboros, actually, which I rather like. Especially for silly+cute pics.
#22: Just when you thought they couldn't get any cuter... SmittyG did a good job channeling Briskby's style but keeping his own touch in the art. Applejack's bow and apple are just the perfect touches for her.
#24: I know WhiteDiamonds drew this one a while back, but I don't know if it's made it to a drawfriend before now. I just absolutely love the expressions on this one; to me, it just seems to perfectly capture Pinkie overenthusiastically thanking Dashie for a routine delivery, and Rainbow Dash being a bit irked at the fuss over something so simple. Favorite drawing of the drawfriend tonight.
#25: Another drawing I'd classify as borderline shipping/friendshipping. That does look mighty comfy; suddenly I have a desire to bid on one of those pony pillows that pops up regularly on eBay...
#26: A rare full-color drawing from Karol Pawlinski; good job of contrasting the colors between what's underwater and what's above the surface.

2: As of this posting, there is no #2. Didn't trip me up this time!
3: Another full boutique scene, also beautifully done! Luna is apparently making it up to Rarity for having her scene cut out of Nightmare night.
4: I like the charcoal feel of this one.
5: Aw... I'd prefer my ponies star in the good Star Wars films... Although they could certainly improve the sequels. Luna already has more natural line readings.
6: Heh... Oh my... Poor Celestia. Well, she did beg to be drawn more in that other Drawfriend.
7: Spooky and atmospheric, and a cross over I never would have thought of.
8: Dash has gotten busy! Nicely colored.

22: These fillies are adorable, one and all. Twi and AJ are my favorites, though Fluttershy with her juicebox could give one cavaties.
23: A nice style on display here with the characters. Here's hoping Pip isn't gobbled up.
24: Awww. *I'd* be smiling if I were Dash. A very charming portrait of the two, and I always love White Diamonds' coloring jobs.
25: It's a very sweet image taken as a mother/daughter kind of cuddling. As a teacher, she should probably be fired immediately. They look so warm and fuzzy though.
26: Once Fluttershy gets out, will she steal the wet hair spotlight from Rarity? A really nice subtle water effect here.
27: This image alone could make me love Cheerilee. Such a vibrant pony.
28: AJ might be stubborn enough to make that method of flight work...
29: I don't know what's riding Luna, but the two of them together are definitely badass.

ReplyDelete18: Sweetie Belle is right to be worried. That parachute is not going to work. Without leg straps you'll just fall out of it. Ponies would work with two bands around the bodies though, but steering a ram air chute would be damn near impossible without being a unicorn.

#1 YES. @_@ Now this is definitely a fabulous way to start a Drawfriend off right. Even with my admitted Rarity bias aside, this is obviously a beautiful piece of artwork that deserves much praise... I love so much about it! The soft lighting is fantastic, with the blue tones coming from Rarity's telekinesis and the other warm glow from the sunset outdoors, and all the work put into the textures is fantastic as well (her hair and the carpeting look almost real... real @_@). The mirrors add a whole new level to the impressiveness as well. I probably could go on even more, but yes... doubtless I've rambled on enough already. Truly lovely work.
#3 Yay, more Rarity happily in her element! =^.^= It makes my heart feel glad. A lovely little scene that does a great job capturing her room true to the show's style, and with some nice Luna interaction as well. I have to wonder it Rarity intends that hat for the princess though... I wouldn't have imagined green was really her color... (ahem)
#4 A very nice minimalist piece that makes excellent use of the play of light and dark... I like it.
#6 I have never seen the original before, but I have to say that Princess Celestia is hilarious. That definitely threw me for a loop, I will admit...
#7 Another piece where I'm not entirely sure what's going on, but I really like very much. The composition is really great, and fog and gloomy colors add a wonderful sense of mood to this (I can almost feel the chill dampness in the air). I like this one a lot; kudos artist.
#8 I don't ship it by any means, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the artwork of course. Really lovely style here and I adore the glossy coloring... everything about this one is very pretty and beautifully done.

#11 An interesting piece with very unusual (in a good way) composition going on. The coloring style is very defined in some places and less so in others which is a bit strange, but overall the effect is still quite nice... I especially love the water here, beautiful colors!
#13 Now there is a ship you don't see everyday! Cute artstyle though, definitely.
#15 I like the way this piece is colored. It might have benefited from a softer outline as opposed to the solid black, but still, very nice.

#26 Unusual though this picture is in many ways, I quite like it... it's a nice difference to see this artist use a more varied color palette when the urge occasionally strikes them. I love the subtle highlights and "pencil" strokes throughout' they add a nice feeling to this.

Oh, I don't mind much either way... Shipping isn't generally my thing, but it doesn't make me run screaming in the other direction either. I was simply debating which way it leaned in my mind when the tags caught my eye. As I mentioned, the image is undeniably cute regardless. Nicely done.
I hate shipping, but I like the art style and the take on Dash's possible children (that dark one looks awesome) in #8. Also, #16, D'awww. Fluttershy in the pokemon world would be great.

And ahh I see, so it's not strictly meant as a shipping pic then... well that's nice. Even though I would consider myself as a fan of the Rarijack pairing, I still try to leave some room in most of my fanarts of them for interpretation, and certainly I avoid sauciness as that has never been my thing in artworks whether I like a pairing or not. In fact, my picture above is a very good example of what I'm talking about as well... for those who like it can pretty easily be seen as PinkieDash, but for those who don't it doesn't have to be.
