If anyone is put off by the length of #18, PLEASE give it a read. I promise, it's worth it. I'd hate to see such a well-crafted story get shafted in the vote simply because of its length.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I had to vote for Messin' with Celestia. For me, it might be the funniest story in the entire competition.
I voted for On Ice. Mostly because it was relatively quick and amusing, and Derpy wasn't stupid.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, I'll admit, the longer ones were getting the shaft from me. After 20 contestants, my attention span for april fools stories is starting to decline; I did read them partially and skimmed the rest, and I'm still confident in my vote.
I might just give the really long ones their own post after the competition anyway.

Aww! I loved the accursed cookie story, but its length works against it in this kind of a competition. I'm torn between #17 and #21 for my second favorite in this bracket...
ReplyDeleteHonestly, none of the ones I thought really should have won the last few brackets won, and I honestly don't think the one I like best will this time. But I certainly agree that the longer ones do get shafted in competitions like this.

I misread the desc as "Twilight learns that even the innocent can turn you on." and concluded it must be the best story of the set. Read it.

I actually enjoyed all the stories in this bracket, but in the end I went with 17 as it seemed to stay on topic and focused while the others seemed to... flutter about a bit.
ReplyDeleteStill I did very much enjoy them all and I thank the authors for taking the time to write them.
Love the wildcard idea; a lot of really good stories are gonna get shafted by the end of this, and it'd be great to give them another chance.

The stories need to be whittled down.
