• Episode 20: Green Isn't Your Color Announced!

Episode 20 has popped up on tvguide.com.  Looks like it's more Rarity/Fluttershy focus, which is kind of neat considering their monologues in Suited for Success.
Episode Synopsis: Rarity hopes to get noticed as a designer with Fluttershy's help as a model for her dresses, but Fluttershy is the one who becomes the star.
Original Air Date: Mar 18, 2011

    1. More dresses? sweet! Hope it will be as good as #14. Also it seems like we will see jealously Rarity!

    2. Poor Fluttershy. I doubt that she will like to be a star. For some reason, I imagine Fluttershy hiding behind Rarity that feel both jealous and feeling sorry for Fluttershy.

Yeah, it's looking bad for a Spike episode. But at the same time, Spike is really just a supporting character, rather than part of the main cast, just like how Derpy Hooves is just a background character.

That doesn't mean they aren't loved amongst the fans. They're as popular as the main cast, sometimes even more so! But because all the episodes are already planned out before they're actually made, and the creators have no way of knowing how popular certain supporting characters would be to the fans once they start showing the series to the public, those supporting/background characters will probably never get entire episodes devoted to them.

At least not in Season 1. If there is a season 2 (OH PLEASE GOD, LET THERE BE A SECOND SEASON AFTER THIS ONE'S COMPLETE), I'm sure Faust and the people who work with her would be happy to make create a few fanservice (methinks that word may be a little too strong for FiM) episodes just for Spike, Derpy, hell, maybe even Big Mac. Point is, animators never know how popular their characters will be, so Season 1 of any show is always set up solely for the main cast.

      tl;dr
      Better luck next time.
