Who wants a calendar?! That's a rhetorical question, everyone wants a calendar. How else would you know what day it is?
Purple Tinker has sent along news that the 2012 Brony Calendar is now for sale. You can see example images from the product above, which features the work of many, many big artists in the fandom such as Egophiliac, John Joseco, and PixelKitties. More information and pricing details can be found here.
These calendars will also be available at BroNYCon January 2012, if you're going to that event like all the cool kids are. Hence, you won't see me there! Ha. But seriously, they'll be there too, if you don't want to order right now.

Umm..is this legal? technically MLP is owned by hasbro and selling a calendar with trademark characters in it....umm..this could end badly...

I was asked nicely if they could include my artwork (March) and said yes. As these aren't being done for profit, I'm not being paid anything. It's my contribution to fandom and the convention.

No one's making any money off of this. We wouldn't want to profit off of Hasbro's property!
It was just a case of me saying, hey Tinker, why don't we do a calendar like the Homestuck people do? And she said, okay.
All the artists contributed work for no pay. I think it's just being printed by Cafepress.
I just bought the mass-produced one, but THIS is really what I was hoping for

As artists, we got together at Purple Tinker's kind behest, and contributed for no compensation.
It's another way to help keep BroNYcon going and provide some super awesome swag to hang on our walls!
I don't like the images, but I like their manes.
NOPONY is making money off of these things (with the possible exception of the printers printing them), least of all myself. I'm selling them at cost; in fact, on each sale, I am taking a loss of a fraction of a cent so I don't OVERCHARGE by a fraction of a cent.
This is a 100% not-for-profit effort and nopony is earning money off of it-- not me, not the artists.
This is a labour of love from the community to the community. Enjoy the art.
(Not to mention my time making and printing all the address labels, filling out customs forms, waiting in line in the Post Office, etc...)

Hmm. It seems pretty cool and all, but I think that some of the images doesn't fit in with the months they represent.
Maybe I'm just nitpicking here, but the last image should of at least been something representing Winter. The lighting makes it seem more like spring/summer than winter.
If I don't get a calendar for Christmas (which I suspect I have as I usually do and there is a suspiciously calendar-shaped package in my fiance's tree...yes in) then I will be buying this. Really like most of the images.

Though I have my doubts about the September picture. It features some blatant shipping, and not everyone might be comfortable with having that hanging on their wall all month long.

Thanks, Purple Tinker, for asking me to work on this fun and rewarding little project. She does an amazing job keeping our community awash in cool things- and she works incredibly hard to pull it all off. Everypony owes her tremendous thanks.
As far as the nitpicks go, I am certain that anyone who feels they could put together a superior fan calendar is more than welcome to volunteer their own time, money, and resources to do so.

Hi guys! I have been SWAMPED due to BroNYCon :( Finally have around 120 of these calendars packaged up and will be shipping them all within the next 24-48 hours! They're coming Priority Mail, so they should be there shortly. I'm so sorry for all the delays!
