Holy Luna, this is a massive Luna! After a whopping 52 hours of block work, Muffinworks has created this massive statue of everyone's favorite night goddess.
Check out the video after the break for a full demonstration!
I see these amazing minecraft sculptures and I can't help but be a little frightened by how much time and effort has to go into them. This is absolutely amazing.
I don't mean to be a douche, but I have to call BS. Making something like that manually and getting perfect spot on shapes like this in minecraft is utterly unheard of. Even the greatest minecraft enthusiasts aren't that articulated and skilled enough. I'm pretty sure it was imported using WorldCraft. Seeing things like this is pretty common in the minecraft community, and they are almost always imported from a 3d model.
The music is 'Luna' by Eurobeat Brony feat. Alex S., so the choice is perfectly fitting. And much like this statue, it's a tune that shows how ridiculously amazing this fandom is.
well that doesn't look that impreeeeoooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
thanks dude now I have to clean my brains up ... ... there all done *bang* DARN IT THEY EXPLODED TWICE!
That's an awesome Luna. Oh man, I wonder now, what would the author said when he saw Luna's new hair? I bet he spent a few minutes pondering whether changing it or keep going with Luna from Season 1.
If this was real someone would be infringing a few construction codes for building a massive horse entirely out of blocks of wool. (^.^) I love Minecraft, if just for the ridiculous stuff you can do with it. I hope Muffinworks adds eyes.
Easy: Unlike Alpha/Beta/Release, MC Classic supports maps that are higher than 128 blocks tall (I once played on one with a 1024-high map). Since normally maps are limited to 128 high, only Classic would support a 256 block tall statue.
If this made in the real world I be like good tease, but ya'll are completely f-ing nuts. But on a plus side I think Hasbro would realize it maybe good for the money to keep making the show for a long time.
Oh, good, I thought I was the only one who's thought of this. Make prototype, send to hasbro with a note/giant petition of people wanting more accurate, physical items.
It looks generated, probably with binvox(a program that takes 3D Models and converts them into Minecraft .schematic files). It's pretty cool anyways, and the program doesn't generate paint, so at least THAT part of this was done by hand. Very nice!

Bronies are AWESOME. no doubt in my mind.
I see these amazing minecraft sculptures and I can't help but be a little frightened by how much time and effort has to go into them.
This is absolutely amazing.
By the Eight!
Well, all I can really say is "wow" that's impressive.
I could never do that, and that is literally speaking. I don't have minecraft.
sweet Celestia.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I want.
Ho.
Lee.
Shit.
52 hours? That's a bit scary. But, it's still awesome and well done.
Far too much time on your hands sir....but epic none the less!
How the hell is it 256 meters tall?! Did he edit the level or just redefine the meter?
needs to be bigger
Obsessed much?
Oh wow. That is a whole lotta Luna... <3
That's a hay of a lotta work!
When I read this for a brief moment I thought it was talking about real life. I think I need some sleep.
Now that's buckin' cool.
Talk about dedication. 52 hours? Wow.
That's pretty awesome! Lots of time spent, but high-quality work! (Unrelated, site's hitting 80 million! Sweet!)
@Homfrog
In Minecraft each block is one meter square. So all that really means is the statue is 256 blocks tall.
Impressive work. I also like how he sculpted the ground to resemble the moon.

HOLY FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU :O
Of course I'd love to be proven wrong. Some genuine WIP shots would convince me.
This...this is very nice
Um..*squee*
I'm pretty frightened. Please no dreams of blocks.
34,35,36...
WAIT! Don't go anywhere! I'm still counting the amount of Internets im giving to you.
37,38,39...
Sweet Luna that'ssimply amazing
@Makkon Sadly, only the creator can prove it's real, but I trust him anyway.
Wow, reading the description helps. It took him 52 hours to make the video, not just build it.
That officially makes me a douche. Excuse me while I facepalm repeatedly.
flawless luna statue. very interesting choice of music too.
@Makkon
Relax dude, at least you admited you made a mistake.
Epic Luna!
If real then massive points for creator.
Must have made this guy rage when Luna got a new look
I-
I'm in shock from the amount of epic!
Minecraft: Legos on Crack
...Mother of God...

if there was any doubt in my mind that bronies are awesome, this banished them to the moon (sorry couldn't resist)
And then that guy from Shadow of the Colossus climbs up her tail and stabs her in the butt until she dies.
Naturally he's killed by thousands of Luna fans afterwards, and rightfully so.
@Yengahengadergen
"Interesting choice of music"

Impressive site to behold
I like Luna as much as the next pony, but this,....
Life much?
:motherofgod:
Sweet Luna of mercy! This brony is an überbrony!
By the Princesses Celestia and Luna.....That there is freaking amazing....
That sir, is some very, VERY impressive work.
Awesome Sauce!
soo... where can I DL it? I wanna put that over my spawn to piss off my non-brony roomates.. joke's on them, the house server answers to MEEEeeeeee!
Ever seen something so great you wanted to choke yourself to death 'cuz you know you'll never be that great...?
.... Minecraft classic :why:
There are no words in all the tongues of man, beast, or pony that can adequately describe my joy at this moment.
I want to try and run this though MineCraft.Print http://www.minecraftprint.com/
My God...
well that doesn't look that impreeeeoooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
thanks dude now I have to clean my brains up ...
...
there all done
*bang*
DARN IT THEY EXPLODED TWICE!
@Makkon
That only means he must have spent about 51 hours making the statue and 1 hour on the video.
Which is fine. I've had longer projects in MC before and I've never made anything close to that awesome.
Me: You know they changed Luna's design for season 2
Creator: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!!!
Awesome, but lets push through the limits!
Make. A. Server.
HOLYSH*T!
That's an awesome Luna. Oh man, I wonder now, what would the author said when he saw Luna's new hair? I bet he spent a few minutes pondering whether changing it or keep going with Luna from Season 1.
I would've done the same.
Wow! I'd like to see Celestia banish that!
@Crimson_Wing
Praise Akatosh um...I mean Luna
imagine this in Legoland X)
well done!!
save file please!
Now to do this in real life, but with Legos.
what if this was real?
If this was real someone would be infringing a few construction codes for building a massive horse entirely out of blocks of wool. (^.^)
I love Minecraft, if just for the ridiculous stuff you can do with it. I hope Muffinworks adds eyes.
Epic Luna is epic :D

From afar it looks smooth and rounded...
Circles? In MY Minecraft?
It's more likely than you think...
By Ysmir's beard!
*takes off glasses* By Celestia's beard...
@Homfrog
they say on the youtube post that they used classic, which has a larger limit. there is also a mod that allows it
When this is on the real world, I'm done with pony.
@smartz118
don't you mean "crack on legos"?
holy bucking celestia of equestria
If this made in the real world I be like good tease, but ya'll are completely f-ing nuts. But on a plus side I think Hasbro would realize it maybe good for the money to keep making the show for a long time.
And once more, Notch needs to let us go to the MOON, and for that, we need 2 things.
1. No 128 block height limit.
2. Space Program.
@ShivalWolf
Oh, good, I thought I was the only one who's thought of this.

I would love to see that set on fire.
