Oh the things Kkat could've done with this locale.
Did I say this episode was beyond amazing? That was the biggest understatement I've ever made. There are no words and my body was so not ready that it is having a HNNNNNNGH attack every few seconds. Also, it will be the turtle... that much should be obvious.

You know....I really love that Dashie picked the pet that was post loyal.
There were just so many awesome little moments in this episode, I think I would explode if I tried to list them all right now. All I will say is that I LOVE it!
My fav episode, dethroning Luna Eclipsed.

The only disappointment in the entire episode was that there was no Scootaloo.

Big question, where did Rainbow get the bandages from? Also Gummy is still awesome.
Altogether this is a average Rainbow Dash episode, except with the musical number some people wanted.

ReplyDeleteI've been reluctant to name a favorite episode this season. But that one is definitely tops. It had a bit of everything: Good jokes, some light adventure, a song and some great character development.

ReplyDeleteHawks are generally considered "Spirits". They are loyal, tough and trust worthy. They are a guidance to all others in the Native American history. They show endurance and everything that Rainbow said at the end there.

How did RD need her wing splinted when all she caught was a feather tip?
ReplyDeleteRD really needed this episode. It really shows that she is more than just a athlete. She is my favorite character and the combination of this episode and the song may make this the best episode ever. Though I wait to decide until a couple days after because every new episode seems perfect on the first run.

ReplyDeleteThis is kind of an odd episode. We don't get a lot of the mane cast, and the plot's pretty thin (the fact that Fluttershy and Dash's duet is almost the entirety of the first act is testament to this l3). Normally, that stuff would probably bug me, and it's not like I didn't notice it this time around, but it's honestly sort of hard to stay mad at an episode like this. There's just a nice, friendly fun spirit to it that keeps things afloat, even if it is sort of painfully obvious from the get-go who Rainbow's pet is going to be.
ReplyDeleteStill, as they say, it's not the destination, it's the journey. And honestly, we have a lot of fun reaching that conclusion this episode. Fluttershy and Rainbow's Duet is the first new song of the Season, and I dug it. A lot. Good rhyming, nice rhythm, and it's pretty fun to see Fluttershy take pride in all her animal friends. Admittedly, it's kind of hard to believe she'd let Rainbow take them on such a flagrantly dangerous trip as the race through Ghastly Gulch (at the very least, it would've been nice to see her reaction to the idea), but again, it's just sort of hard to nitpick on that this time.
Also, Tank is awesome. ^_^

The decision was entirely a Hasbro marketing choice.

ReplyDeleteSorry, but not for me. Even if it is a flying turtle, I'm not a fan. I hate turtles in general. The ONLY kind I like are the Teenage Mutant NINJA variety..
Other wise I think they are stupid and ugly...and..bleh..way too predictable.

ReplyDeleteNo, even before that I believe. There were some pics and possibly some stories even. This was a LONG time ago.
You know, I sort of wonder what an episode involving the Equestrian military would look like. We knew they have modern infantry armor and camouflage from Rarity's helmet in Dragonshy, and her line about Rainbow Dash in her song in Art of the dress, but this episode makes non-muscle-powered helicopters and firearms canonical as well.
