Good story, a somewhat unfulfilling conclusion, but a great interpretation of her character.
You should definitely add more chapters onto this, it has a lot of potential.
You know, the title+picture is kinda misleading. After I saw them I kinda expected RD to dream that she is a human Air Force pilot and thinks that Equestria was a dream, and when she goes to sleep she wakes up in Equestria and thinks Air Force was a dream :D
So kinda disappoint =/
Great use of imagery in this story, particularly the bit where Dash comes to the conclusion that she is a helpless filly during her nightmare. It was also a clever interpretation of Dash's character.
I'd say that the story could have used a bit more meat to it when she was thinking to herself by the lake, though

To be honest, I admittingly left the ending a little...open, I guess I could say.
As I wrote this, I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted to continue the story with a short series.
I very much enjoyed analyzing this side of RD, however, so I may just go and coninue it.

As I began to mull over how I would go about writing this, I was listening to a few melancholy songs to find the mood I wanted to convey.
I really liked that line in the song, as I thought it fit rather nicely, so I ended up using it.

painfully short, but it's a short - what can you do. Adding polyfilla does nopony any favours.
For what it is, it's pretty good, but it didn't really go anywhere. That's some nice world-building, it would be interesting to see where it leads but again, this was a short...
A nice scene. It's not a story, but I sort of feel it doesn't want to be - I quite like scenes that don't necessarily have a defined plot arc. It leaves the author free to paint a picture, and this is very well painted.
Interesting that insecure Dash is a centrepiece of fanon. Since it builds on her presentation in the Sonic Rainboom it's certainly valid to put it onto canon Dash, and it's very interesting to watch the series with insecure Dash in mind - it rather changes her whole perspective.
This has to be a first part/chapter, surely ?
The end feels short, like if there was supposed to be more than that.
This was very well written, and although I'd have loved to read more, its short length definitely aided the interpretive ending you set up. Congratulations, you are the first author to get me to empathize with Rainbow Dash. I'll add her to the list with Pinkie, Twilight, Luna, and Trixie. Wait, when did Pinkie get on that list? Oh well, excellent story, I'll keep an eye out for your name.
