No, you know you're addicted when you check here every fifteen to twenty minutes to see if there's a new post, write fanfiction or draw fan art for the show, get nervous if you're going to be posted on this site or not whenever you submit anything, watch at least one pony-related video every day, and have a folder in your bookmarks that is solely dedicated to ponies. Bonus points if the folder is in the bookmark toolbar.

I cleared-out a bunch of bookmarks and most of the bookmark bar to make room for ponies. I got folders for pony videos, pony fics, pony pics, pony discussions, pony role play, ponies-roleplaying-as-humans, pony plans for world do- *ahem* friendship and love...
@Prince Shadari Lol, I'm not too ashamed about being a fan. The first three bookmarks (visible for the whole world to see) is equestria daily, derpyhooves.com, and ponychan. If anyone where to get on my com and go to youtube, they would be bombarded with various pony related vids.
Please, only a wuss would choose such a short pony name to demonstrate their addiction through self mutilation.
Now, go and carve 'The Great and Powerful Trixie' down your leg, and you know you're a brony for life! (However long they may last once you nick that artery in the wrong place...)
I managed to overcome EDP(Equestria Daily Ponyitis) for about nine hours and guess where I am now? But then again taking over Japan isn't that easy especially after Ieyasu came back from out of left field.
Yeah I took some time to play Samurai Warriors 2 Empires, all PS2 games are ridiculously cheap nowadays and it'll temporarily stop me from ponying.
