• Toy: Rarity Clone

    How...

    How is that even possible?

I can't find a molded Rarity to save my life, so they release a clone of her instead?

You so crazy Hasbro... I guess we can just pray Mcdonalds picks up ponies again.

    2. God dammit Hasbro, what the hell is wrong with you?!

    3. um... I think I just died a little on the inside.

If you'll excuse me I'm off to a corner so I can rock back and forth holding my face.

    4. This is just wrong, how could they do that! Why won't they let us make the pony designs, that would be a dream come true.

      ReplyDelete
    5. Also, they didn't even make the toy look alot like the picture they just recolored too..

    6. On the bright side, it should be easy to paint.

    7. Oh wow, Hasbro you cheap bastards

    9. I don't know what to vote, 1 star for cloning rarity or 3+ stars for agreeing with your commentary

    10. >mfw they don't even bother masking the recolor. Or Rarity's boutique.

Hope, as always, that we eventually get on-model, high-quality, main cast ponies. BG ponies would be nice, but please, core six first.

    11. ...Is...
Is anyone else getting a sense of race here?
And if you're not, are you at least wondering if that toy might be edible and taste like chocolate?

    12. This makes me snort and giggle because it reminds me of that one OC pony, Mocha... Mocha... Mocha Delight or something?

Anyways, oh Hasbro, ya cheap skanks~

    13. Hasbro....

      How cooooould you?!?

      ReplyDelete
    14. And a clone that looks like some fancy dessert, too. WTF.

    15. Black Rarity.
Cherries and spice don't go together.
You'd think they'd make better toys, they are a toy manufacturer and that's the whole point of having a cartoon!

      ReplyDelete
    16. man that looks delicious, I would buy twenty of them if you put some whipped cream and a cherry on the top.
now I'm hungry and horny THANKS HASBRO!

      ReplyDelete
    17. Oh, but Hasbro does make better toys in their Transformer and GI Joe toylines.
It's just that MLP is neither of those two, and it doesn't have the large LONG-LASTING fanbase those two posses.
Besides, what would you do with something like a MLP toy with movable joints?

      ReplyDelete
    18. ""what would you do with something like a MLP toy with movable joints?""

      ARE YOU SERIOUS???

    19. I'm pretty much with HungryAnon (minus the arousal aspect), if it were a candy instead of a toy, I'd probably buy it up.

The info card that comes with it on the other hand friggin' weirds me out.

I'm going to simply hope that they're holding out on the modeled Rarity to make people want it more when they release it shortly down the line or something.

Photocomics and other general silliness using THE POWER OF IMAGINATION!

      ReplyDelete
    22. Why?

Thats all I have to say.

      You create a show.
      Then this happens.
      Again.

      Hasbro, I am disappoint.

      ReplyDelete
    23. Well if there is one recolor there's probably a bunch more on the way. At least Cherry Spices is a new pony instead of a redesigned pony from an earlier design.

      ReplyDelete
    24. Wow, and I thought Hasbro was only going to make shoddy recolors of transformers...

Seriously, half of the transformers I see today are merely a different color swatch compared to the one right next to it... WHICH IS THE SAME MODEL...

      /facepalm

      ReplyDelete
    25. Again, Transformers fan here. Hasbro has been doing this for a long, long, LONG time. Heck, they released at least ten versions of the original Decepticon "Starscream," all with different paint jobs and the same model, going under different names like "Thundercracker," or "Sunstorm," or "Skywarp."

This isn't really all that surprising.

      ReplyDelete
    26. well my complaint finnaly got through to them last night after like 2weeks from being sent. im sure they know about us by now :| hopefully their'll be at least some par toys~

      ReplyDelete
    27. But for Transformers, they've also done lines for the toy collecting fans.

Also, how many people here would preserve chocolate pony figures instead of eating them?

      ReplyDelete
    28. There is an actual Rarity toy like that available, in better packaging (bubble on card). This is one of those lame "surprise" packages, whereas before you would get a different ponyville character (they all had the same hairdo), now we get re-coloured obvious Rarity's. :[

      ReplyDelete
    29. Dang, that looks like it has a pretty good quality paint job too. Like, better than the current mane cast figures even.

Hasbro may do the whole palette swap thing all the time, but you can usually AT LEAST expect to find the primary characters. Can you imagine if they just...DIDN'T release any Optimus Primes? It makes no freakin sense.

    30. WHAT THE FUCK HASBRO!??!?! WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT!?! WE FUCKIN ASKED FOR MOLDED PONIES IN THEIR OWN COLORS AND YOU FUCK IT ALL UP. I'LL COME TO YOUR HEADQUARTERS IN WHERE EVER THE FUCK THEY ARE AND SHOW THE THE MAGIC OF FRIENDSHIP. WITH A FUCKIN WOODEN BAT.

      ReplyDelete
    31. @anon ...dude o.o

      ReplyDelete
    32. There was so little effort behind this, I am astonished. I will have nothing to do with this mysterious pony, except for use my Warhammer model painting tools to fix what is rightfully Rarity. AWAAAYYY!!!!

      ReplyDelete
    33. Is it just me, or does the toy NOT have a unicorn horn, when the package art shows her with one?

      ReplyDelete
    34. I was wondering the same thing. I just couldn't see one no matter how I looked.

      ReplyDelete
    35. Silly Seshito. Still haven't get used to recoloring figures.
As a transformer collector, I can tell you this is ridiculously common, and it's a Hasbro tradition since day one.

      ReplyDelete
    36. @mesias-rocket

Now, the fact that their distribution is so bad that you're seeing the recolor before the proper original? And using a stupid name like Cherry Spice? Totally open to complaining about! ;D

      ReplyDelete
    37. What the Foxxy's Funyuns is that? Black ponys are cool, and it's probably a 'select area release' but why did they choose the whitest possible character to use for this? Easter is coming up and pony toys are small- would chocoponies be entirly out of the question?

      ReplyDelete
    38. It's sad that these blind bags will likely be exclusive to Europe or Australia like the past ones, they really need more merchandise here.
But I guess that's good for the majority of you guys, how dare Hasbro not individually resculpt the hair on every single one-off pony!

Those of you who are too young to know about the past generations of ponies, please look up g3.5. There were only 5-7 ponies to choose from for years. So shut up and enjoy your variety of ponies!

      ReplyDelete
    39. That color scheme is hideous. I really hope hasbro reconsiders how they handle the toy line. I cringe every time I see that Celestia commercial.

      ReplyDelete
    40. Time to break out the airbrush and the pony dye!

      ReplyDelete
    41. Wow, you would think it wouldn't take anymore effort to just release an on model Rarity, I guess I just don't understand the marketing "genius" of Hasbro.

Even the target audience hates this, my niece is bummed she can't find any ponies that match those on the show; I can't believe they think she wouldn't notie the difference either. >.<

      ReplyDelete
    42. @Anonymous

Not that he can't complain about it, but that he better get used to it; because that's how Hasbro rolls. Sadly.

      ReplyDelete
    43. And I thought only fans recolor.
I guess I was wrong... well otherwise I guess there are some people out there who want their own character, but aren't very talented with drawing or whatever.

      Oh! And this looks delicious.

    44. Molded Rarity, right here: http://www.hasbro.com/mylittlepony/en_US/shop/details.cfm?guid=BEA6B8ED-5056-900B-108C-FD4F43A9E00B&product_id=27976&src=endeca

It's been out for a while.

    45. Is she really Rarity? Oo

      ReplyDelete
    46. Chocolate Rarity, some stay dry, others feel the pain...

      Sorry, I had to.

      ReplyDelete
    47. Actually I really like that ^^ I think it looks pretty, and if you look really closely, I think it's wearing lipstick in the picture!

Though the picture is of a unicorn when the toy is clearly an earth pony. And yes it is indeed a Rarity recolor but it doesn't look too bad even as a recolor. And I agree with the other commentators; it looks absolutely delicious!

      ReplyDelete
    48. WHY U DO THIS HASBRO?!

      ReplyDelete
    49. I actually liked her!

      * EVERYBODY STARES *

Hm... I really like her... mane?
