• MAST3RLINKX Videos Removed from Youtube by Hasbro

    This... Could be bad.

All the HD episodes (and many of the links in my side bar at that) Have been removed for copyright infringement from  MAST3RLINKX Youtube channel.

You can find the dreaded warning here..

I still see pensivepony's stuff up, so maybe it was something else? Hopefully it was something else?

I'm pretty sure half this fandom relies on streams to watch pony... They better have something planned for their massive following.  Season 2 will be bleak indeed without youtube.

Sadly I need to leave for work, so I won't be able to dig into this any deeper.  See you all in 6 hours!

    6. So, do we any reliable info on what has happened? Hasbro or trollbot or somethin?

    7. I am one of those "archiving" folks, so I saved all the current episodes in one 22min files, in both 720 and 1080 version where it was possible.

Now I'm gonna check if my account allows to upload vids longer than 15 mins.

Regardless if it was Hasbro or a troll or something else, gonna try to do something.
Remember the element of harmony: loyalty.

Time to put that into practice and stay loyal to all the Bronies who have cheered up my days in the past few months ^-^

    9. @ Darkhawk1, Yeah bro, we cool. Sorry for being a dick.

    10. mast3rlink didn't include in the video's description that the ponies belong to hasbro, which is why his videos were deleted and not pensivepony, who made sure to credit them.

    11. At least we have two weeks to figure out what to do before the next episode airs. Guess this break was a blessing from Celestia after all.

    12. they can stop us like how music labels stop illegal downloading. they cant. i wouldnt worry about it.

    13. Just spend the money and buy the itunes episodes. SUPPORT the people who are making ponies FOR you!

Do you want them to KEEP making poni? Then SUPPORT THEM FINANCIALLY. That's how this works. You either subscribe and pay for cable or buy itunes or the inevitable dvd to keep them in business.

Stop being broke-ass theives and PAY for something you like for a change. That's the excuse I always hear. oh, if I like it, I'll pay for it.

      Then do it!

    15. i just have something to say

      i love ponies
      but i hate hasbro

why they are so stupid, people started to buy their toys mostly because of the stream in youtube.

why they dont measure the trafic in TV and in Youtube, the goal of a production like this is to reach as many people as posible.

I want to support Hasbro for making ponies but I don't like iTunes. I don't like Apple and I don't want to give Apple money too. I want to give my money to Hasbro and that's why I buy the toys.

I'll gladly spend the money for the show on a disc format. In fact, if the show is released on both DVD and Blu-Ray I'll go so far as to buy both sets.

Apple, though? Refuse to support them, for the reasons already stated in various other comments several times. Apple is the absolute bane of commercial digital distribution of video content.

    18. Its better than nothing. I did my part and paid the $70 for MLP on iTunes. I have no problem with Apple. YES, it has DRM, but what online content that you PAY FOR DOESN'T HAVE IT? It would be the same thing if you went to the Zune Marketplace and Amazon. If the movie and TV studios didn't have their way, iTunes wouldn't have DRM for their movies and TV shows.

Of course, there are people outside of the country that simply can't go that route, even if they wanted to due to region restrictions. They would have somewhat of a legitimate reason to watch this show on YouTube via the unauthorized accounts.

There is no such thing as a free lunch. People are paid to make this show come true.

      Deal with it.

    20. He had couple of episodes there from iTunes, they didn't liked it so they removed them one at a time.

      ReplyDelete
    21. There's always angrytigerP. Should have episode 21 out soon.

      ReplyDelete
    22. is there a relatively easy way to take both halves and combine them into one file once downloaded from youtube (or wherever)?

      ReplyDelete
    23. It was exceptionable. Because MAST3RLINKX had iTunes rips what is technically a piracy, when TV rips (no matter in HD or not) are not.

      ReplyDelete
    24. But I will miss them so much. Piracy or not but that was Celestia-tier quality. I watched "Green isn't your color"m then I thought that it could be nice to save video on my hardrive, but I went to bed instead. And in the morning... we... banned.

Oh, looks like my previous post became victim of spamfilter.

You can find all the episodes in both SD and HD for download.

There are still two Youtube channels that have episodes and subtitled into Spanish to boot.

      They are juanpanda and mylittlepony2011.

Juanpanda uploads them in SD with the subtitles on the video itself, mylittlepony2011 has HD rips, although in two parts and uses Youtube's CC feature.

They both have episodes up to episode 20.

I bought as many as I could afford off iTunes. Just to give Hasbro money for poni but outside the us you cant do that and there are no dvd or blueray.

I learned about this show BECAUSE OF YOUTUBE and I have bought toys because of youtube if it wasn't for youtube I would have never known about fim and would not have sunken money into hasbro.
Taking fim off is a huge mistake it needs exposure and youtube is a way for others to get exposed to it.
Youtube is helping pony's not hurting it! I would understand Hasbro taking it down if there were dvds but there aren't so I fail to see how youtube hurts them in any way.

      ReplyDelete
    28. I see this fiasco as a potential good thing. If Hasbro brought themselves to claim copyright on HD/HQ pony episodes and not the SQ ones (hopefully), this could be signs of a potential DVD release, which, I for one, see it as GLORIOUS. But, until then, this is truly a sad event.

    29. Oh, dear. I just heard about this today. It doesn't matter to me personally whether the stream(s) are removed; I watch on the Hub. But I know other people who don't get the channel or can't watch the show on TV, and thus rely on the Internet for it. I certainly do hope this is a sign that they intend to release the show on DVD so that everyone can own it. I'd buy the series on iTunes if they offered it, though I would MUCH prefer a DVD set. If they're simply taking the videos down for copyright reasons...well, on the one hoof I can understand that, but, on the other it does seem that it would actually be in their interest to let someone upload the series so that many of their fans can continue to enjoy and support the show and spread it around. Lots of these fans, after all, would be pretty likely to buy more toys if and when they bring out some more accurate-looking ones.

    30. There's more to HD than just detail. The type of detail you're talking about is relevant to live-action, and some forms of theatrical animation. What I want FiM on Blu-Ray for is clean lines, a crisp image, and rich, accurate colour. Blu-Ray is better able to provide that than DVD; even for a television-budget series.
      @Anonymous

I call horseapples on this. Because it simply is not true. Firstly HD is a marketing term. Now used to point to pretty much anything with more then 600 lines. But... suprise surprise: DVD was considered "high definition" when it came out; and even them old VHS tapes had "HD" modes. I'm unsure though what kind of detail kirai is supposed to hint at; but lets skip that.

clean lines - is a question of compression quantization; and both MPEG2 and MPEG4 do this. True; everything things equeal, MPEG4 (bluray) may have a lower quantization then MPEG2 (used on dvd); however; this is not the point you try to make

crisp image - I could point to above and blame the quantization again, and i'd be right. However; aside from the format specific biases, this is basically an inverse of the compression ratio. Though it is capable of streaming at roughly 6 times DVD speeds; it is up to the encoder where in the spectrum the quality will lay. It is not inherrent to the type of disk how well the image quality is.

rich, accurate colour - If DVD's don't have rich and accurate enough colour; Bluerays don't have it either. Both use the same YUV colour space variant; and the same algorithm to (lossy) encode the colour. Hence colours are the same.

Though I have no beef with you on the actual point you were trying to make; I felt compelled to do this reply. I'd be happy to talk inverse cosine transforms and quantization matrices with you on the subject; but given we're both anon; we probably won't.

As for the videos from youtube. I've expected this from day 0. It actually stayed longer then I expected.

    31. Hasbro did right to remove those videos, yeah it helps people find ponies, but it makes them FUCKING OBSESSED WITH IT, I mean even look at this excuse for a website, it looks like it was made by a faggot on crack.

If your a fan of it, don't fucking spam the internet about it and setting your avatar on every community to it, if your a fan of it just be a fan of it, obsession makes you retarded.

    32. I tried watching the Hub for MLP sodes but they weren't the same. Without a comments section, subscribe feature, or related videos sidebar the Brony community feels fragmented. Hopefully a solution will arise to right this injustice!
