I feel like this skill is important at this exact moment in time, and if you browse a lot of art, you might be surprised at how well you actually do. It's weird how our brains are slowly building an internal ability to just see what is and isn't AI.
I say important at this moment in time, because the major models people use (Dalle 3 and Stable Diffusion) are pretty damn outdated. OpenAI said they are releasing a new image gen for GPT 4.5 pretty soon, so we will see if our AI detection skills are up to snuff for the next generation.
