Anyway, do you like Scootaloo's arc in FiM? Do you think they handled her well growing up in the later seasons?
I think the writers handled her in a very surprising and mature way. Showing that she would not ever get her wings to develop instead of taking that unique part of her character away was refreshing compared to many other shows of this kind. I also like the choice to show that she lived with her Aunts because her parents were always away. These are the types of things you would not expect to see in pony (like AJ's parents and Moondancer).
Also, we can't forget the early seasons where she was trying to get her cutie mark with Sweetie Belle and Apple Bloom. I'm not sure I like that their cutie marks were so connected in the end (after all, the Mane 6 never got that kind of treatment), but the character growth associated with it was cute. Diamond Tiara being the catalyst for their marks was a good writing choice.
