• Story: Blood is Thicker

[Normal] This was actually written before the new episode! Luckily it remains pretty accurate!

    Author: Ciroton
Description: Twilight Sparkle receives a letter out of the blue from her mother. She has left her the ages-old task of keeping their family tree updated, and hints to it being incomplete. Will she be able to discover this missing relative, or will she fail as her mother did?

    1. I remember reading this yesterday.

People were saying in response to the episode that her father's cutie mark looked a bit similar to Trixie. If anything, it only became a bit more solid.

In fact, I thought that this was just a very quick story made in response to an early viewer. So yeah; I think it holds up with the changes made.

That aside, it is a pretty good little story. I enjoyed it.

    2. Very nice. Loved the chronological mixing of events. It's a trick that worked wonderfully for this story.

    3. I enjoyed it, although it makes me feel somewhat sad for Trixie. Why can't she ever have a happy backstory?

    4. Wow, this was shockingly accurate with episode 23!

    5. This was great! No offense to Twilight/Trixie shipping stories, but this just felt a whole lot better to me.

    6. I love this as well. Although if one wanted to make this fit more in the canon, they could make Trixie and Twilight half-sisters. Same father different mothers. Just an idea.

    7. @FasterThenRainbows

How is this accurate with Episode 23? Twilight definitely had both parents at her entrance exam and she was clearly old enough to remember them.

    8. Awwwww.... I really liked this story.

Y'know, fighting is /also/ something sisters do...

    9. I wonder if this requires a sequel, or should be left alone...
On the one hand, it's a beautiful piece on its own, filled with a great deal of emotion and characterization...
On te other hand, it'd be really touching to see a sequel where they make up and start anew...

Well, whatever the case, Five stars! :D
