Let's have some fun tonight and destroy a poll, shall we?
There's a poll on ToyWiz going on right now pitching different toy lines against each other, and as you can see, ponies are losing. Can't have that, can we? Let's fix it.
The poll is midway down the page.
EDIT: We win! For anyone who was offended by this post, I'd encourage you to take a deep breath. We're not defacing the website or anything, and I'm willing to bet we just earned them a little ad money. It's all in good fun! Relax.

Well, that was easy enough xD
ReplyDelete5 hours and 5 thousand votes later, ponies are in the lead.
ReplyDeleteToyline...I have to consider that.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't care less about toys, but I'll cast my vote anyway. Also, we're winning!!!
ReplyDelete6 hours and...ponies got 6.000 votes and 40%...yea, this fandom is just awesome
ReplyDeletePoor robots
ReplyDelete@Sindri
ReplyDeleteTo be honest.... Starcream is NOT a formidable transformer.
He is, and always was, a giant idiot. All he has is his poisonous tongue...and he even still screws it up in the end anyways.
There's a reason he was always the G1 whipping boy. lol
With that said the deathbattle got it spot on.
Laughts so hard when I looked at the picture in the post and thought "Ah, well that's a way to go" but then voted and in the results ponys were already over 400 votes ahead. And about five minutes later for another 200!
ReplyDeleteThat's more than 5000 votes in such a short time! THIS FANDOM IS NUTS!
Who would win a battle?
ReplyDeleteTransformers 37% 7,522
G.I. Joe 7% 1,387
Thundercats 5% 980
He-Man 2% 507
Voltron 4% 819
My Little Pony 41% 8,261
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4% 805
LoL the trolls are trying to make a comeback ;p
Starcream :P
ReplyDeleteI don't watch Transformers, but he sounds like he's the Krillin character, fails all the time for comic relief.
Yes! We're winning now! Don't let them make a comeback, keep voting!
ReplyDeleteSo, Cereal Velocity, how does it feel to have an army of blindly loyal bronies at you command? All you have to do is point us at a target and we attack with zeal. Just make sure you use this power for good.
ReplyDeleteIt is done
ReplyDeleteHA!! We're now at 8,351 votes!
ReplyDeleteMLP toys are horrible, but frankly, ponies need to dominate so that they toys will get more effort put into them. Bronies may result eventually to quality increase in MLP franchise of toys.
ReplyDeletewho needs the princesses? they just send the mane 6. hell I'd pit any of the mane 6 vs the transformers, rainbow would fly circles around them, fluttershy would stare them down, pinkie would teleport around dismantling them, rarity would whine them to death, applejack would buck their legs out from under em and twilight... well lets face it twilight would fuck their shit up.
ReplyDeleteyep we win this :D For Equestria!
ReplyDeleteLook now! in your face transformers! Ponies forver! ◔á´—◔
ReplyDeleteaww yeah!
ReplyDeletewho would guess that? :D
MUHAHAHA MLP RULZ
ReplyDeleteAlmost feels like Internet bullying lol.
ReplyDeleteBut we have to restore the natural order.
And at this rate we've won in no time at all.
I wonder if they will realize what happened, lol.
Suddenly MLP skyrocketed in 1-2 days.
Mwuhahahaha!!!
ReplyDeletePonies 8500
Transformers 7500
I blame Michael Bay >:3
Honestly, the toys are not all that great compared to some of Hasbro's other lines. ^^; I am in this more for the cartoons and art, not the paraphernalia.
ReplyDeleteas of 7:34AM Central time Ponies leading at 42%
ReplyDeleteBRONIES ASSEMBLE!
Alright guys let's do this LEEEEERRRROOOOOYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! WIIIIINNNGGGGKKKKIIIINNNSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHaha- we won.
ReplyDeleteHaha- we won.
ReplyDeleteThat poll just got pharyngulated... er, equestriated.
ReplyDeleteToday: The poll
ReplyDeleteTomorrow: The world!
By 2012: THE MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!
So after I go to vote, I notice that Ponies have gained 6,283 vote while Transformers gained 119.
ReplyDeletePower to the bronies!
Eat junk, Optimus!
ReplyDeleteAnd for those who were talking about how the Transformers toy line is good, one of my best friends is a Transformers collector and he is always whining about the bad quality of the toys and how they dismantle if you interact with them several times -- wich has no sense once "interact" is the key for the Transformers toy line.
I never saw a pony dismantle so easily even interacting with them to customize :p
And anyway, the poll is about "who would win a battle". I'd wold love to see Elements of Harmony against Giant Robots. Anyway, Celestia could always send them to moon XD
Already winning. lulz
ReplyDeleteAlready winning. lulz
ReplyDeleteAlready winning. lulz
ReplyDeleteI personally don't care if the ponies are winning the poll, but as an older Transformers fan I would like to point out the Transformers do have there own gods to bring to the fight. They're Primus the god of light and creation who turns into Cybertron the home world of the Transformers and Unicron the god of chaos and death who is basically the source of all evil in the transformers multiverse and he usually turns into a planet that devours other worlds.
ReplyDelete@AuzBuzzard
ReplyDeleteWe can win everything with a good number of bron.. Friends. :)
Aaaaaand we are winning! Surprise! ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's over 9000!!
ReplyDeleteIT'S OVER 9000!
ReplyDeleteBronies Assemble Dismantle and OVERTHROW THIS POLL
ReplyDeleteMLP votes are now over 9000
ReplyDeleteVictory!
ReplyDeleteThat was a pretty easy victory. Let us move on to bigger things!
ReplyDeleteBronies, a mutated form of Anonymous.
ReplyDeleteI do have to chuckle, yes.
@Byakuryuu
ReplyDeleteI wholeheartedly agree with you. This is how I felt during the Naughty or Nice poll. We were competing against kids to see a show getting a marathon, doesn't that seem kinda unfair?
aaaaand just like that, we win.
ReplyDeletewe are up by 1.6k. I think we got this one
ReplyDeleteI did my part fellow bronies.
ReplyDelete3 hours earlier "oh no we are loseing" 2 hours later "well there we go"
ReplyDeleteWe won this.
ReplyDeleteFor the World Domination!!!
I have to wonder if people will stop including MLP in polls just to avoid it becoming a one sided race. I hope they don't cause I love screwing up polls like this.
ReplyDeleteDamn!
ReplyDeleteIn less that 12 hours we went from a measly 17% to a right-in-front-of-the-pack 42%!
I am proud of our might!
Doing what I can to get these ponies to 10K...
ReplyDeleteAnd I keep wanting to chime in on the "This is about TOYS" versus "This is about WHO WOULD WIN IN A BATTLE": It's the latter. Did any of you ever hear that "All's fair in love and war"?
My bronies... this is BOTH.
(Oh, and if you turn on private browsing, you have unlimited revotes. Just sayin'.)
They probably shouldn't let people vote mutible time on anything with MLP. lol
ReplyDelete@Stahi
ReplyDeleteA friendship-infested Anonymous, yes. Minus the "anonymous" part.
For the herd!
ReplyDeleteI like how bronies always conquer everything!
ReplyDeleteo.0 and now mlp is in the lead...I was up when this was first posted, and watched as the number of MLP votes steadily grew by the THOUSANDS
ReplyDeletefrightening. we bronies are a force to be reckoned with indeed
I totally can't get why there are somepony who think is "not fair".
ReplyDeleteThe poll is just for the fun, or they would ask a code before voting to avoid cheating. People WILL vote for their favorite toys / characters. We're doing the same. There's no "internet bullying" in that.
I could agree about the EqD manner on putting things like "let's ruin the poll" is wrong, but I don't think we're ruining anything, actually.
About the Naughty or Nice poll I have a different oppinion, because were bronies against kids, basically. And it not sounds fair, after all. :/
Current standings.
ReplyDeleteMy Little Pony 44% 9,532
Transformers 35% 7,543
@DKen2021 when you love something, you get excited over it, you even want others to know about it so they may love it too. this is not about forced conversions or taking cartoons away from little kids for gods sake, this is about getting pony out there, where it can be seen and loved. I dismissed this show as recycled tripe until I saw an impassioned video done by Blunty. I then tried episodes 1 and 2, I fell in love, so I started recording on the dvr, but that was not enough so I scoured youtube, the pony was there, waiting to be seen, then I found this site. This fandom is one of the most prolific and enthusiastic group of lunatics ever. when I vote, its not to force my will on the world, its to show the world I love something, and want them to know it exists.
ReplyDeletepoor He-Man...And everyone else who thinks they can take on Ponies

ReplyDeleteHonestly I think the Ponies and the Autobots would team up. Now that would bring an end to the Cybatronian War. Decepticons would easily fall to the combined might of the Autobots and the Ponies.
ReplyDeleteMovies aside, Transformers and Joes are terminally afflicted with Stormtrooper Academy aiming skills. How many times has a pony failed to conquer her enemy with the Rainbow of Light?
ReplyDeleteIDEA... Pony Maximals... HASBRO MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!
ReplyDelete@Sindri
ReplyDeleteI beg to differ from that "Dash is one of the low powered ponies part".
Well, let's pick her Death Battle move list: she's capable of reaching Mach 10 speeds at the same time she breaks the visible light spectrum and creates a huge explosion, capable of tearing rocks apart, clearing very gloomy skies and creating huge bursts of wind.
Oh yeah, and she can create a narrow-focused explosion with her "Sonic Rainbomb", and passes through certain wood barriers without being hurt, showing she has a good resistance.
Oh god, I can imagine some little 10 year old kid, voting transformers and going WTF?!
ReplyDelete@Erroneous let's hope that 10 year old wonders "whats so great about ponies?" and googles it.
ReplyDelete45% for the ponies. 37% for the jive talking robots. all is right in the universe.
ReplyDeleteMy lord, your will has been done.
ReplyDeleteAt first I thought the poll was "best toy." Until Hasbro releases better MLP toys, Transformers would still win that. The toys are definitely higher quality, overall, and more fun to play with.
ReplyDeleteBut then I saw that it was "who would win a battle."
It's fairly common for nerds to to try to figure out who would "win" if forces from different fictional universes were to collide. Star Wars vs. Star Trek, DC vs. Marvel, Voldemort vs. Sauron, etc.
Up until about six months ago, Transformers vs. My Little Pony never even entered my mind. Had it been brought up, I would have said, "Transformers of course." Little did I know the destructive forces that could be conjured up by ponies. It would be a pretty intense battle, though I'm sure in a "realistic" scenario it'd be the Mane6 teaming up with the Autobots, vs. the Decepticons. Which turn out very badly for the Decepticons.
"Yawn! I voted! I'm going to bed!"
ReplyDelete*fast forward to this morning*
"Let me check the votes!"
...
...
...
WHAT?! 9000?!
Fillies and gentlecolts: we have achieved 10,000 votes for My Little Pony.
ReplyDeleteFOR FRIENDSHIP! FOR LOVE! FOR THE HERD!
I love you guys.
ReplyDeleteWell, the question is "who would win a battle"...
ReplyDeleteI guess the logical choice is ponies considering what Rainbow Dash did to Starscream.
10-year-old boy: *picks up remote*
ReplyDeleteG.I. Joe: Hey!
Boy: Who are you?
Joe: I'm Sgt Slaughter! If you're watching what I think you're watching, then don't! All those remakes of our classic cartoons suck! Wait for Friendship is Magic to come on!
Boy: But isn't that a girl's show?
Joe: You would think that! But not only do those ponies make you laugh with humor you won't see in Transformers, not only do they teach you how to be a better man, but these ponies fight monsters! Monsters like dragons and manticores that would eat a Transformer or Ninja Turtle for breakfast!
Boy: Well now I know.
Joe: And knowing is half the battle!
Boy: Huh?
@Byakuryuu
ReplyDeleteI fail to see how voting for my favorite show is somehow a bad thing
Wow 8,000 votes since this was posted ponies FTW!
ReplyDelete@pmcollectorboy Quest of the Princess Ponies. But that was more due to them losing it than aiming skills.
ReplyDeleteUnrelated: I wonder how Discord vs Unicron would turn out...
As much as I like seeing ponies win, I can't help but feel bad for seeing normally unbiased polls bombed by the community. All it seems to show is that the community is highly obnoxious, and that such polls should exclude MLP because of the (now very likely) chance of being demolished.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, im a big fan of the Humble Brony Bundle because of the whole 'charity' thing, but using the community as a wrecking ball for just about anything is just... ughh.
There's 'Hey, we're there, take notice of us!', and there's 'We'll piss you off until you decide to ignore us!', im starting to think we're encroaching on the later.
Maybe im overreacting, who knows, such a powerful community is rarely seen, I just hope all that attention isn't going to backfire on us.
well there both Gods of Chaos so theyd prob hangout
ReplyDeletegreat job, everypony
ReplyDelete@sothalic we already know MLP beats transformers. RD def. Starscream proved this
ReplyDeleteWE WON!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI voted G.I Joe
ReplyDeleteThen Thundercats
Then pony
Then Nothing
Okay, this is getting ridiculous! It's one stupid internet poll, who cares whether or not you win? After something like the Naughty or Nice poll, this is reaching!
ReplyDeleteI claim this poll in the name of Equestria!
ReplyDeletePoll destroyed!
ReplyDelete@Rafasde
ReplyDeleteYes, Dash is extraordinarily powerful. But Twilight and Pinkie Pie are both an order of magnitude or two higher. Dash is about the middle of the Mane Six in power level, maybe on the low side depending on what mood Fluttershy is in. Which puts her slightly above most small countries in our 'verse.
We reign supreme! Resistance is futile!
ReplyDeletePosted at 12:16am GMT, voted at 15:56pm, poll results: Ponies winning with 46% and over 10,000 votes, a full 3,000 ahead of Transformers.
ReplyDeleteGood job bronies.
GUYS WE'RE WINNING NOW!
ReplyDeleteSorry Cereal, I just can't vote against Transformers. Though I love these crazy ponies too, so I can't vote against them either.
ReplyDeleteI guess I just have to abstain from this vote.
Lmao I love how MLP is now on top. Go bronies go!
ReplyDeleteHELL YEAH! WE'RE IN THE LEAD GUYS!
ReplyDelete@zombie pony?
ReplyDeleteThink about what? It's a poll. Involving ponies. We like ponies. Therefore we vote for ponies. Poni poni poni.
Wow I came close to my gess of where the votes would be at after I finised work. Any idea when the poll closes?
ReplyDelete47% mlp
ReplyDelete33% transformers
HAHAHAHA!! I love how when this was posted there was 2,000 votes for ponies, and now there are 10,000. WE ARE UNSTOPPABLE!!!
ReplyDeleteTis all in fun.
ReplyDeletePonies are now winning with 47%.
ReplyDeleteThat didn't tkae long. :P
This is kind of scary.
ReplyDelete@Byakuryuu Most bronies were simply unaware of this poll, and as such, had not voted. When anything is made public to an extremely large audience, problems will happen. Google occasionally gets sites crashed when they change their header to something themed, resulting in millions instantly becoming aware, and exploring.
ReplyDeleteBy bringing a poll post into EqD, this has simply informed an extremely large audience about this poll, who primarily voted one way, simply due to the nature in which the poll was received.
Similarly, if GMail directed users to a poll about which was the best mail client, GMail would inevitably win.
So, to conclude - No, I'm sure the intention was not to nuke the daylights out of the poll (Although this might have been one of the unintended consequences), but simply inform a large audience about a remote poll.
If this poll was of any truly major significance, the votes would be in the hundreds of thousands, and not just the thousands...
wow. were already beating the transformers by almost 3,000 votes. nice.
ReplyDeletethat was easy.
ReplyDeleteCelestia vs all Transformers
ReplyDeletescrew sending them to the moon, melt them in the sun
lol ponies ftw
ReplyDeleteponies ftw
ReplyDelete@Andrei_Carlos_Robles Multi-voting does not work. That many different people just vote that fast :)
ReplyDeleteI believe it's my god-given right
ReplyDeleteTo destroy everything in my sight.
'Cause it never gets dull, it never gets old.
The only thing it gets is more bold.
I just voted, we have 48% of the vote.
ReplyDeleteGentlemen. . .
Success.
ReplyDeleteI Loved how much ponies jumped up in the polls. Seriously I'm still laughing.
ReplyDeleteBahahahahaha Ponies are now in the lead. 48%
ReplyDeleteBahahahahaha Ponies are now in the lead. 48%
ReplyDeleteIt's nearly at 50% now, and we're winning.
ReplyDelete10 and a quarter hours and we got 9,000 votes, while Transformers got 100. I'd call that one hell of a win.
ReplyDelete@snowfi6916 Wut?
ReplyDeleteGuess that's yet another reason to avoid Ponychan in general.
Good thing you posted that here.
ReplyDeleteThe problem seems to be solved by now :)
My god, this is horrible... but oh so funny. Although I have to say I will not be putting my vote in or it would fall in the TMNT batch. Sorry guys, but as far as merch is concerned, Tank... I mean, the Turtles win hands down (don't fret about the fandom, I'd be with you all the way in this one).
ReplyDeletePonies are now in the lead.
ReplyDeleteEqD rigging another poll? Wow... that's low. That's REALLY low.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I once thought this community was pretty cool, but now I see it only exists to force ponies on other people.
@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeletePlease, tell me how in any way this has 'forced ponies' on anyone.
After this, lets not demolish another poll again.
ReplyDeleteIt's already unfair that bronies are helping MLP dominate just about every other show.
@zombie pony?
ReplyDeleteIt's not raiding. MLP just has a larger audience, and one that is more likely to vote in an online poll, not to mention bitching about it and dragging in "morals." Try telling a stranger about all this and see how many shits they give.
we loved that poll soo hard
ReplyDeleteI'm betting there are an awful lot of baffled fans from other shows voting for transformers or something and then doing a double take when they see the results.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't go telling me about 'intended audiences'; every one of those shows have adult fans :p EqD just got their site a ton of hits and probably a bunch of sales too; I'm sure they don't mind.
We should go to Metacritic.com and vote for MLP:FiM as the best show of 2011 on the Best of 2011 User Poll.
ReplyDelete@BlackBlood15532
ReplyDeleteHmmm... Suggesting we watch and back all the other shows on The Hub and and have that dominate all the other stations in turn?
I'm not even being sarcastic. We should do it.
Now... Lets find more polls!
ReplyDelete@Cereal Velocity Because they deliberately went in with the purpose of changing results in their favor, mostly for attention.
ReplyDeleteYou guys want us to LIKE your community, right?
Then don't do that.
Why are people kicking up a fuss about us voting? Just because we are the majority suddenly makes it a raid and unfair?
ReplyDeleteThey should pull that one in politics, country is electing a new leader and clearly the guy with the most votes must be the result of unfair voting and a raid...
@Forest Hailman It's a 'my toy can beat your toy' poll. We ain't talking hanging chads here.
ReplyDelete@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteAttention? Come on, dude. It's an obscure poll on a toy website that we added a few thousand numbers to. I didn't tell anyone to spam their forums or deface their website. A little perspective is needed here- it was all a little late-night fun to be had. No harm done.
Forest, we weren't doing this for attention. We're doing it for fun! :D
ReplyDelete@Cereal Velocity
ReplyDeleteWell, whatever it was, it certainly decreased my respect for this fandom by quite a bit.
You might like the show and all, but you gain nothing by going in and bending polls to your will.
@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteI can't see where you're coming from. Every person on the internet was allowed one vote on this poll (ecluding cheating, something I purposely didn't do to see the real results). The poll's raison d'être is to find out what the people on the internet think. Bronies are people on the internet, we told them what we think.
The poll has given very accurate results, there is a reason bronies have been mentioned as a top new thing this year, that's because there's a lot of us and we are more passionate than expected. This poll has shown that there are a lot of bronies on the internet, something that is not really a surprise.
Some people say bronies shouldn't go vote in polls like this, but that logic is flawed as it is basically telling the voters of a the most popular political party not to vote at an election to make it fair for the other parties.
A one sided poll result isn't a bad thing, it's a reflection of the status of things on the internet.
This is really pissing me off here. I can't believe this community would stoop to such a low as to change the results of a poll that has literally no significance at all. I'm very disappointed in you guys now. You used to be fun.
ReplyDelete@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteI object to the use of the phrase "bending polls to [our] will". The mechanism we used to alter the result of the poll is the only mechanism available, that is voting in the poll. That's not cheating, that's fairly giving them what they asked for: our opinion.
You can't say to Labour Party (large UK political party) voters that they "bent" the election by casting their votes, and that they didn't give the Green Party (small, almost insignificant party by seat numbers) a chance.
@Sgt Byrd
ReplyDeleteThe ponies went from 13% to having over half the votes. You can't tell me that's fair. Just leave the poll to it's own devices, don't go in and shift the results in your favor.
And comparing it to an election isn't a good comparison at all, elections work completely differently.
@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteHow is it not fair? Why aren't we allowed to vote?
@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteElections are much more corrupt. We're not bribing anyone or poisoning the competition with Polonium-210.
@sevooHypreD
ReplyDeleteYou're allowed to vote. You're not allowed to encourage an entire webstie that's much larger than it to go in and spam votes. It gets inaccurate results and gives a bad name to the community and especially the website.
It's clear that the website ordering everyone to vote for ponies fundamentally altered the results. No other site did this with their fanbases.
My God. You freakin' bronies xD
ReplyDeleteWe are the champions my friend... and we will keep fighting till the end!!!!! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS, no time for losers cause we are the champions...............
ReplyDelete@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteBecause nopony has a fanbase like Studio B.
@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteYour logic is that too many people voting for one thing isn't fair because it's too much. wat.
Did you lose a bet or something?
I don't see how voting on this poll has harmed the website. It gave them more traffic, some ad revenue, and a number of the people voting likely purchased something from the website.
ReplyDeleteThe FIM community online is massive. If it throws its weight around, I don't see a problem when it's something like this, where there is no real harm done.
Now, if the community were actively seeking out and destroying websites of other communities or something with DDoS attacks and other methods, then you might have a point.
But a poll? It's just a poll.
Have fun guys bsides they got what they wanted more hits on their site.
ReplyDeleteBronies, you give me chuckles.
ReplyDeleteYou know ToyWiz is thrilled so many people hit their site out of nowhere.
@System_V You're completely missing the point. My point is that a larger website getting all of their members to vote for the sole purpose of changing results isn't fair.
ReplyDeleteI no longer is an accurate portrayal of that website's users. I mean, do any of you even go to that website? you have no right to mess with what's not yours.
If nothing else, at least refrain from doing it again because of how it reflects on you.
I was starting to think the fanbase had settled down somewhat, and was going to give it another shot, and the I found this, and lost faith all over again.
@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteI think you just need a hug.
Do you want a hug?
I will give you a hug.
And if you guys are serious that you don't consider this at all bad, and you can't see my point at all, and I can't change your opinion, then I have a challenge for you.
ReplyDeleteChange mine.
That's right, I'm openly asking you to convert me. In fact, I'm asking ALL of EqD and the "ponynet". You guys love the show so much and want to spread it as much as you can, so in that case, you should be thrilled you have someone to push your opinions on.
Here's the links:
http://knowyourmeme.com/users/nintendork64
http://www.youtube.com/user/nintendork64
Have fun. I'll be waiting.
@Kyronea
ReplyDeleteEeeeeeeexactly!
Good god people, its simple, noone was forced, there was no iron fisted will directing an army. Cereal pointed out a poll in which ponies could be voted on, in which it was asked which would win. Thousands of people decided based on this poll to point out ponies would win. The herd spoke, and lo, with a large neigh declared the winner. This is not a conspiracy, there is no pony consortium, noone is being flayed alive and made into cupcakes under the basement of my house. Everyone can officially calm the fuck down. I swear if I have to shoosh pap the lot of you I will.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, and I'll take the hug, Cereal, though somewhat reluctantly. Thanks.
ReplyDelete@Forrest Hailman I noticed that a lot of people are confusing "lots of Bronies voting" with "linking the poll on a massive Brony blog to expose it to a large Brony audience it otherwise wouldn't have".
ReplyDeleteThe first example gives "fair" results. The second one doesn't. Simple as.
Saying that however, this was an obscure poll on a website with no consequence for the end result.
If they said they were going to do a sale based on what was popular, and most of us had no intention of buying, that'd be a problem. But they didn't, so it's not.
LOL 50% WIN...HIGHER!!!
ReplyDeleteAmerican Idol results are proof enough that popularity votes are never fair.
ReplyDeleteExactly, snowfi6916. Though, there are a couple things you should know.
ReplyDelete1: I did not watch cartoons as a kid.
2: I have very little willing suspension of disbelief.
3: I much prefer sarcasm, wit, and satire over cartoon humor.
4: I have already seen a number of episodes. The only one I liked was Bridle Gossip.
Now that you have a background, I eagerly await the responses.
You're missing the point Forrest Hailman. it's an insignificant poll on a small merchandise website. If anything, they're thrilled to get that many visits. You act like that's a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteLook at it this way; it's a side bar poll on a toy selling website. What does a toy selling website want?
ReplyDeletePeople to vist and (if they see something they like) buy something.
Now loads of new people know that company exists, can't be a bad thing for them.
So are you guys going to accept my challenge? I see I have one taker, anyone else on board?
ReplyDeleteI think that did the trick
ReplyDeleteFrom when I checked, we now have 50% of the votes...
ReplyDeleteAmazing!
So apparently, the internet's new epic marketing strategy is put a poll with ponies in it, then let EqD find it and send everypony there to vote. Well, it worked.
ReplyDeleteSome of you people are immensely tough to love and tolerate at times, you know. This is NOT rigging a poll. This is us giving OUR opinion on something, and that's our goddamn right. Seriously. This is NOT rigging a poll. This is raising awareness about a poll. If something was CLEARLY BETTER (and cheating was involved) then yes, it'd be rigging it. I would vote for ponies if I KNEW ABOUT THE POLL, but I didn't. Cereal showed me the poll, I voted for what I think should win. I'm sure that's what the rest of you did, too. This is in no way unfair.
ReplyDeleteYou really need to calm the f down sometimes. It's incredible.
XD
ReplyDeleteThis is hilarious.
We've got people blindly following Cereal into action...
Then we've got people getting butt hurt over this and saying how "we've changed" or whatever...
As a guy who didn't vote, and has been a brony for half a year now, I think it's safe to say that we're like a virus. We're slowly taking over. Which CAN be a bad thing, if done over excessively.
Did we need to vote on this poll? No, it was irrelevant on whether we won or not and there was no intended outcome.
Should we have voted on Naughty vs. Nice? Yes, because that would lead to MLP showing on TV (an intended outcome.)
I have no problem with doing stuff like this, but we need to control WHEN we do it.
@Josh Spicer Actually, voting on this poll could cause merchants like this to carry more MLP merchandise, which bronies do often buy.
ReplyDelete@Blayze Kohime
ReplyDeleteBut I thought the MLP toys are often considered "bad", or more so, "not well done"?
51%!
ReplyDelete@Josh Spicer If winning or losing is irrelevant, why NOT vote?
@Forrest HailmanForrest the fact that you are here debating with us proves you have an interest. You care about the show and about how the fandom is perceived. You are just not a fanatic, but that's okay, you don't have to be. There is room in the fandom for all manner of people. You see the Kool-Aid over there? Noone will force you to drink from it, but its also not poison. We all enjoy it, and if asked will say so. We ask simply if you don't wish to partake do not fault us for enjoying it ourselves. You may find the muffins or cupcakes more to your liking, I believe there is even some hard cider if you prefer.
ReplyDelete@Josh Spicer
ReplyDeleteAnd that's what we need to change
Haha! We have a way of destroying competition! ^^ Good job for the people who took their time to vote!
ReplyDelete@Steel Resolve
ReplyDeleteI'm faulting you guys for rigging some poor site's poll, not faulting you for enjoying the show. I want to enjoy it too. I've been very frustrated with this whole MLP thing for months, and if you're gonna change my opinion on the poll, you're first gonna have to change my opinion on the show.
Seriously, I want to see you guys convert me. I want to see if you can actually pull it off. I think that would be amazing.
Given the apparent amazingness of the show, it should be an easy task, right? So you guys get on that. Now. And I'm not taking no for an answer.
ReplyDeleteALL WILL BE ASSIMILATED. ALL SHALL BE PONY.
ReplyDelete@Blayze Kohime If our voting in that poll does cause more sites and stores to carry pony merchandise, I'm all for it!! Good pony merch is few and far between, especially in stores near me (and near most other people too). I voted twice in that poll for a lark (and looked over what was being promoted there while I was at it). Our participation in that poll is good for us, good for the site we visited and good for Hasbro. That's three wins versus a small loss for the few Transformer fans who got trounced in a poll that was just for fun anyway.
ReplyDeleteThis is the current score at the time of this post.
ReplyDeleteWho would win a battle?
Transformers 31% 7,660
G.I. Joe 6% 1,404
Thundercats 4% 991
He-Man 2% 516
Voltron 3% 834
My Little Pony 51% 12,783
Teenage Mutant 3% 823
Ninja Turtles
@Steel Resolve
ReplyDeleteLOL at the veritable buffet of tastey metaphors. ^_^ I'd like a cup of the Kool-Aid please.
@IbeforeEexceptafterC Assimilate me then, please. Please.
ReplyDelete@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeletehey, with all due love and tolerance why don't you shut up now. The poll is open to the public, you can only vote once. So in what way are we rigging the poll? Just accept it, there ARE that many bronies out there. Don't come over here pissing and moaning because your favorite show is loosing. Caste your vote and step aside. That's how a majority rules poll works. Whining like a child isn't going to make us change are votes.
Quick while Forrest isn't looking everypony remember to vote on every web device you have.....Shhhhhh.
ReplyDeleteseriously when people tell me the naughty or nice thing was fair and legit i will point this out. Seriously i've been a brony for quite sometime now and im just disappointed in this and i know i an't the only one who isn't liking whats going on with these votings.
ReplyDelete@IbeforeEexceptafterC You are not listening at all. You're also not showing the "love and tolerance" that you claim to be. If you want to help me like the show, I gave the links. Kay?
ReplyDeleteToy Biz is thrilled we all went, personally i never went there before all i have to say is.... cool magic the gathering cards lol. We gave em ad revenue and some of us >.> <.< a bit of money.
ReplyDelete@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteEveryone doesn't like the same things and I don't see why you have to like ponies. I don't like Farscape but I love Firefly. I have a couple of friends that love Farscape but don't like Firefly. So it goes.
We like ponies, we're passionate about it and we cheer really loud. And good things happen, like toy websites getting huge spikes in traffic and We Love Fine selling barrels of shirts.
You don't have to share our passion, but I think you can at least be amazed at what a great time we're having together.
@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteYou forgot one thing chief, we ain't here to prove nothing to you. We're here to enjoy our show and have a bit of fun. There isn't any pony Jesus telling us to convert the none believing. I love and tolerate you, if you refuse to shut up, but I'm not going to waste my time trying to show some whiner how awesome FiM is, I got ponies to watch.
Love how they put the edit later considering that it possible could offend some of us and only now after the damage is done say it was for potential ad money.
ReplyDeletesweeping coming back!
ReplyDeletethey mad!
@Tenaris
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's because Cereal didn't expect people to start whining over nothing.
@IbeforeEexceptafterC Well fine. I thought you'd be glad to share ponies with someone. You don't need to be a jerk about it. And I fail to see how calling me a whiner is loving or tolerating.
ReplyDeleteSure, I'm complaining, but of course I am. I'm frustrated.
@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteWhy do you want people to make you like it? You can't force yourself to like something that you don't care for. It's ok man, no one here is going to hate you if you don't like ponies.
I am curious though, why are you even on EQD if you don't like ponies? I'm not saying you should leave (you are welcome here just like anyone), but it just seems like there wouldn't be anything here to interest you.
@sevooHypreD And maybe they didn't expect people going all out spam voting obsessively a toy line to the top either
ReplyDelete@mattwhite924 I dunno... You guys already seem to hate me, so I don't have much to lose.
ReplyDeleteI came here because I heard about a rigged poll on another site.
I also came here in hopes that someone could change my mind about the show.
@All the Parasprites
ReplyDeleteWhat people voting in polls, the absurdity! How dare Bronies be allowed to vote in a meaningless poll on a random toy website. (Sarcasm for those who thought I was for real)
Now doesn't that argument just sound silly
And to Forrest if you don't like ponies man that's alright judging from that list you gave MLP might not be for you and there's nothing wrong with that and you don't come off as one of those "hah what (insert homosexual slur here)you are for liking that dumb show for girls" that I've had to face, but I still don't see how a brony telling other bronies about an internet poll is a bad thing
@Forrest Hailman
ReplyDeleteI hate the idea of forcing ideas on anyone (and I know this is a problem with some bronies), and I'm actually very glad that others weren't spamming your accounts.
But if you really do want us to try and convert you... umm, have you seen the mash-ups "Pony Effect 2" or the Inglorious Bastards parody on youtube? Do those count? For the actual show, I think you may enjoy the season 2 opener (it's a 2 parter).
And I'm sorry you've had trouble with this community. There are actually a lot of nice, reasonable bronies in the fandom, majority I think- don't let the fringe throw you off.
Oh, one final recommendation:
