ScrewAttack recently released their Rainbow Dash Vs. Starscream Death Battle. It's actually really awesome too, I'm amazed at how in depth they took Rainbow Dash's moveset.

But when you get aright down to it, they faced an airplane off against somepony who can control the weather. Think about that, an aircraft. That flies through the air. Against someone who can turn the air into a weapon.
That was the single most fucking epically hilarious thing I have ever seen in my entire life. And I've seen my sister get her head stuck in a banister.

WHile we love the pony here, Its a phenominal series they do, and every episode is as indepth with the characters who are fighting as they were for both of them here. Check it out. There are some amazing fights.

Giant robot only seems to have the advantage until you realize that it's Starscream. It's tough to even find an opponent that Starscream would even have any chance against.
The detail they put into that was excellent, and it was an awesome match to watch. She even did the Buccaneer Blaze... off screen again.
I have to agree that that was pretty sweet. The detail they went into Rainbow's character and her skills definitely surprised me, and I'm a true brony. I didn't even know she was a black belt! Truly good job Screwattack. I applaud you.
Am I the only one unable to watch this? I keep getting a player error stating "initialization failed: Error: Error #2--" (the rest is cutoff by the springboard logo).
I've tried using Firefox, Chrome, and Explorer, and Flash is up-to-date. Any chance this will be on youtube soon?
Starscream is cursed with immortality, so of course he's going to die. And now he's stuck in some pony's bowels, it's the worse kind of death imaginable.
What's worse is all the things Starscream has lost to before the battle took place. Rarity's cat, Angel the bunny, Gummy the gator and a immobile unliving rock.
Also it's proven to be clinically impossible to have worse aim than a storm trooper, I should know I create the stormtrooper syndrome virus.
While very cool, this battle was pretty much decided from the start. Also what exactly did Starscream lose in the tornado scene.
For anyone else that gets the video error I got, I figured out how to fix it:
Right click the video, go to global settings, and click "allow sites to store information on this computer" it will reduce your protection against cookies loaded by flash, but it will allow the video to work.

This was fucking amazing. Seriously, fucking amazing. I knew Rainbow Dash was the fastest flier in Equestria, but holy shit, I didn't know she was that fast. I'm surprised they neglected to mention the Gs she pulled from both her Sonic Rainboom and the turn she made while she was on it (mach ten).
But prepare for an unprecedented flame war. And I'd advise everyone to just... not care. It was a fun video, but trolls will come out of the woodwork for this thing. And the best thing to do would be not to rise to the bait.
...but everyone will ignore this and the flame wars will persist.
But let it be known that should the war for energon extend to the noble land of Equestria, it is in safe hands.
Death Battle is awesome. Funnily enough, this battle was FAR AND AWAY the most one-sided battle in the entire series. All the others are pretty close matches, some are even extremely close. But Rainbow Dash doesn't do close, she just wins in the most epic way possible.

I'm a Transformers fan. I'm a G1 TF fan. I favoured the Decepticons. But even I knew Screamer was attending his own funeral here because, well, it's Starscream. Loved it.
My jaw was stuck open for a full minute after that ended.
That was amazing.
I know nothing about Transformers, but I thought RD would have much less of a chance against something equipped with a minigun and missiles while she has no real weapons other than speed and agility.
I was laughing, saying the word "awesome", pumping my fist/hoof in the air, and downing a bowl of inexplicably manifested midnight snack cereal; all at the same time.
Thank you, Stephen Magnets, for using science to totally stack the odds against Starscream. I see another tsunami of free pony paraphernalia en route to your house. Time to buy another garage to stash it all in!
I'm a massive Transformers fan, and this was pretty cool. They seem to overplay Starscream dying, though. Starscream isn't a jobber or anything, and despite what some people think, Starscream is probably the most powerful Decepticon apart from Megatron and Shockwave (and Galvatron and Cyclonus, I guess...). He's a coward, but the reason Megatron always keeps him around despite Starscream trying to kill him all the time is because he's that damn good.
This was funny, though. I await the parasprite rage.
Well. There doesn't seem to be that many ragers at all in the comments over at ScrewAttack. What there does appear to be, however, are a lot of people expressing surprise over just how awesome Rainbow Dash is. New converts anyone?
As for the video, I was so nervous the whole time. Starscream is a big target, and Rainbow Dash is capable of wrecking him in seconds, but she spent so much time playing around. As fast and small as she is, all it would take is one bullet to shred her. D: She wasn't taking it seriously enough.
Waited a while week for it, and I loved it. It felt a bit one-sided compared to most of their other battles, bit I figured RD was going to win anyways.
the only way this could have been more awesome is if Starscream got backup form some of the Desepticons and then OPTIMUS PRIME came with Pinkie Pie and an even more awesome DEATH BATTLE ensued... a boy can dream...we need moar Transformers and Pony art
Heh, I knew it'd get into the air as soon as it did. Quite amused that Dash turned it into a game While Starscream was all uber serious about it.
The pre-battle stat exposition more or less confirmed what I already suspected to be the case. The physics and nature of the combat just wasn't in Starscream's favor at all, at any point. As I said before in my pre-battle, Dash has the durability to withstand some epically brutal punishment, enough to withstand that which she puts her own self through because of her own abilities. Case in point, she can live through a 90 degree turn going mach 10 without all of her internal everything liquifying on the spot. If she can effortlessly shrug off the g-forces involved in that maneuver, there wasn't much Starscream was going to be able to do to her.
In contrast, Starscream was screwed going in. His opponent controls the weather. That alone guaranteed victory for Dash, regardless of what Starscream did. Having worked as a maintenance worker on fighter jets for the USAF, I know for a fact that bad weather grounds jets for a damn good reason: they get torn apart like paper bags. Starscream learns this the hard way. Paid a wing for that knowledge.
As soon as I saw that Rainbow Dash was announced as the opponent, I saw the outcome a mile away. Starscream never had a chance.
Whelp, Screw Attack finlly made a death battle that I enjoyed, now I'm gonna look over the comments on that channel to see how salty the Transformers fans are.
I'm gonna bet the next Death Battle is gonna be master chief vs Samus.
After seeing the preview last week I really though RD wouldn't have much of a chance. Even my friends and I discussed it, with me trying hard to make a case for just how good RD really is. I totally missed the Blackbelt thing, too. I was resigned to thinking Starscream would win, but at least it would be a sweet battle and represent Bronies and MLP.
Once you saw the Sonic Rainboom in the stats, you knew how this was going to end even if you were hoping for Starscream to win. A good fight none the less, It might be their best one yet.
And it makes sense that Rainbow Dash would eat the Spark. She just pulled off all of her tricks in 2 minutes, she was going to be hungry after that.
RD had it in the bag since the beginning! Two things: 1.- Did you notice Derpy in the background? 2.- Rainbow pulled off the Sonic Rainboom with only ONE hoof in front. Normally, she needs both hooves in front to achieve the necessary speed... Just sayin'
I can't help but agree after watching the video. I thought Starscream would win this round being a giant metallic robot and all, but I didn't take into account how many 'moves' Rainbow has demonstrated throughout the first season and their combat application. Two hooves up for an excellent analysis.
Huh... Well... Color most of my issues with the entire concept of this that I had at first utterly pointless then.
Guess they weren't giving Bronies the finger after all...
Although I can't help but think that Screw attack is still going to get a massive amount of backlash from the haters now. I guess this means we'll be there to defend them if they need it though...

That, bronies, is what we Tropers call a Curb Stomp Battle. As a child of the 80s, I found myself torn on this... Not on who I wanted to win, but on how I wanted them to handle Starscream, ostensibly the Decepticons' sharp-shooter (according to the stats on his toy).
3 Days ago i got told I can do my dream job as a research project at university. This DB comes tie with that, and its been my dream job for 4 years. Also, i knew Dashie was gonna eat the life spark 10 seconds before she did. Should I be worried I can predict my Dashies actions before she does them?
OK, I have to say I was way wrong with my earlier comments about how ScrewAttack was doing this just to mess with bronies. They actually did Rainbow Dash justice, and made a terrifically entertaining video. Well worth the 1.5 hours it took to download this thing on my slow internet connection.
They did their in-depth research as usual and it came out great for both contestants.
Animation and pixel art for this show just keeps getting better, and it was great this time as well!
This was timed well, great pacing. good voice acting and of course: RAINBOW DASH WON!
Starscream, despite him being a giant robot and a Decepticon with an impressive arsenal, is still a coward and cheap tactician. This is why Megatron stayed in command for generations.
All of the ponies can withstand epic punishment - look at what happens in Dragonshy. An attack that SHATTERS STONE leaves them with no visible injuries, and is merely enough to daze them. I'm not so sure that a single bullet would have been able to put one of them down.
And the really scary thing is - RD is only the second most powerful pony (outside of the Alacorns). I'd go with Twilight for the most powerful. She has proven building scale telekinesis, that can be used on other creatures. Think about that for a second.

I'm a massive Transformers fan, and this was pretty cool. They seem to overplay Starscream dying, though. Starscream isn't a jobber or anything, and despite what some people think, Starscream is probably the most powerful Decepticon apart from Megatron and Shockwave (and Galvatron and Cyclonus, I guess...). He's a coward, but the reason Megatron always keeps him around despite Starscream trying to kill him all the time is because he's that damn good.
This was funny, though. I await the parasprite rage.
So, I'm predicting that Starscream will show up at least once over the next two or three Drawfriends.
Well. There doesn't seem to be that many ragers at all in the comments over at ScrewAttack. What there does appear to be, however, are a lot of people expressing surprise over just how awesome Rainbow Dash is. New converts anyone?
As for the video, I was so nervous the whole time. Starscream is a big target, and Rainbow Dash is capable of wrecking him in seconds, but she spent so much time playing around. As fast and small as she is, all it would take is one bullet to shred her. D: She wasn't taking it seriously enough.
Waited a while week for it, and I loved it. It felt a bit one-sided compared to most of their other battles, bit I figured RD was going to win anyways.
I completely forgot that RD knew karate.

the only way this could have been more awesome is if Starscream got backup form some of the Desepticons and then OPTIMUS PRIME came with Pinkie Pie and an even more awesome DEATH BATTLE ensued... a boy can dream...we need moar Transformers and Pony art

Heh, I knew it'd get into the air as soon as it did. Quite amused that Dash turned it into a game While Starscream was all uber serious about it.
The pre-battle stat exposition more or less confirmed what I already suspected to be the case. The physics and nature of the combat just wasn't in Starscream's favor at all, at any point. As I said before in my pre-battle, Dash has the durability to withstand some epically brutal punishment, enough to withstand that which she puts her own self through because of her own abilities. Case in point, she can live through a 90 degree turn going mach 10 without all of her internal everything liquifying on the spot. If she can effortlessly shrug off the g-forces involved in that maneuver, there wasn't much Starscream was going to be able to do to her.
In contrast, Starscream was screwed going in. His opponent controls the weather. That alone guaranteed victory for Dash, regardless of what Starscream did. Having worked as a maintenance worker on fighter jets for the USAF, I know for a fact that bad weather grounds jets for a damn good reason: they get torn apart like paper bags. Starscream learns this the hard way. Paid a wing for that knowledge.
As soon as I saw that Rainbow Dash was announced as the opponent, I saw the outcome a mile away. Starscream never had a chance.
Also: Derpy Hooves epic cameo.
Whelp, Screw Attack finlly made a death battle that I enjoyed, now I'm gonna look over the comments on that channel to see how salty the Transformers fans are.
I'm gonna bet the next Death Battle is gonna be master chief vs Samus.

That was surprisingly awesome and not bad!
After seeing the preview last week I really though RD wouldn't have much of a chance. Even my friends and I discussed it, with me trying hard to make a case for just how good RD really is. I totally missed the Blackbelt thing, too. I was resigned to thinking Starscream would win, but at least it would be a sweet battle and represent Bronies and MLP.
Then Rainbow Dash took a level in badass.
My jaw is still buried somewhere in the ground.
Once you saw the Sonic Rainboom in the stats, you knew how this was going to end even if you were hoping for Starscream to win. A good fight none the less, It might be their best one yet.
And it makes sense that Rainbow Dash would eat the Spark. She just pulled off all of her tricks in 2 minutes, she was going to be hungry after that.

2.- Rainbow pulled off the Sonic Rainboom with only ONE hoof in front. Normally, she needs both hooves in front to achieve the necessary speed... Just sayin'
I honestly expected them to make the more obvious choice ofa gaint robot winning. Did not see that coming.
Kinda hoped Starscream wasn't as much a pussy though.
I can't help but agree after watching the video. I thought Starscream would win this round being a giant metallic robot and all, but I didn't take into account how many 'moves' Rainbow has demonstrated throughout the first season and their combat application. Two hooves up for an excellent analysis.
Huh... Well... Color most of my issues with the entire concept of this that I had at first utterly pointless then.
Guess they weren't giving Bronies the finger after all...
Although I can't help but think that Screw attack is still going to get a massive amount of backlash from the haters now. I guess this means we'll be there to defend them if they need it though...

That, bronies, is what we Tropers call a Curb Stomp Battle. As a child of the 80s, I found myself torn on this... Not on who I wanted to win, but on how I wanted them to handle Starscream, ostensibly the Decepticons' sharp-shooter (according to the stats on his toy).

3 Days ago i got told I can do my dream job as a research project at university.

OK, I have to say I was way wrong with my earlier comments about how ScrewAttack was doing this just to mess with bronies. They actually did Rainbow Dash justice, and made a terrifically entertaining video. Well worth the 1.5 hours it took to download this thing on my slow internet connection.

Starscream, despite him being a giant robot and a Decepticon with an impressive arsenal, is still a coward and cheap tactician. This is why Megatron stayed in command for generations.

All of the ponies can withstand epic punishment - look at what happens in Dragonshy. An attack that SHATTERS STONE leaves them with no visible injuries, and is merely enough to daze them. I'm not so sure that a single bullet would have been able to put one of them down.
And the really scary thing is - RD is only the second most powerful pony (outside of the Alacorns). I'd go with Twilight for the most powerful. She has proven building scale telekinesis, that can be used on other creatures. Think about that for a second.
Did anyone else notice that they used the Fluttershy modeling music for the Gamefly advertisement about five minutes in? Pretty subtle.
