    1. yaaay, more applejack/fluttershy!

i think my favorite parts were granny smith's scene and the parts showing that applejack was just as nervous about the whole situation as fluttershy was. that was something that i felt my own story lacked, as mine was almost entirely from fluttershy's point of view, and i love how you're shifting it around more. can't wait to read the rest ^_^

    2. I haven't read it yet but I have to say... god DAMN YOU SETH for USING THAT IMAGE.

      Cant wait to read it!

    4. Really liked how you portrayed Granny. Will keep on reading the series!

    5. I really liked this. It's cute, has a good amount of family interaction, and feels realistic in terms of how they feel about each other.

Keep on writan. Yes they do have lamps btw.

    6. I like how Fluttershy's eating a peach in that picture, even though according to the story she'd rather be eating an apple.

    7. I loved it. Sadly, most of the fanfics are not long enough.2 pages are awesome, but I love romances where it takes a bit more than just 2 'chapters'. Either way, this is well written, you really did a good job with the way they speak and I would love to see a 3rd part?

    8. My only complaint against it is the bit in part 2 where they briefly angst over the whole "gay" thing. I just find it silly that magical ponies would worry about that sort of thing. Also it sorta takes away time that they could have spent doing something cool, like kissing.
      Kissing is cool.
Also, holy Celestia, I think this is only the second story I've read where Granny speaks.

    9. I swear to god at that part where Applejack goes "oh will my friends accept me" I wanted to punch my monitor in pure rage.

    10. My idea of Ponyville might not be the same as yours, but I felt it was a character flaw that would be more present in Applejack that most of the other ponies. She's a home-grown kind of girl who didn't even grow up thinking about that sort of thing, or seeing it anywhere.

The way I wrote it is that it's not something she's used to or happens all that often, it even had to be pointed out to her.

However, I'm sorry you feel that way and I do admit there could of been a better way to go about it. However, you can be sure this was not something that will keep happening. Still though, I'm glad you toughened it out so far into part two.

    12. wonder if this is the end...

      EPILOGUE

      EPILOGUE

      please!

      ReplyDelete
    13. Huh. Nice enough ending, but the end of the 2nd part made me think the roles would be reversed.

Still a good ending. I also agree an epilogue would be wonderful.

      ReplyDelete
    14. @Pacce

It's no more ridiculous than technological apes worrying about that sort of thing.

I consider it a point in a story's favor when they actually make reference to worries about friends' and society's reactions to gay relationships when a character is trying to decide whether to come out of the closet. Makes it feel a lot more authentic.

      ReplyDelete
    15. I'm not gonna lie, the epilogue kind of ruined the whole thing. I'm not a big fan of the "and then they had babies!" route

      ReplyDelete
    16. How is babby foal formed?

      ReplyDelete
    17. I'm sorry to hear(read?) that, Anon... who posted at 4:02. I debated on going that route, and I decided that if it was an epilogue, then that specific story would be finished. I had hoped by mentioned that a long time had passed that it would stave off most negative connotations. I'd meant the time frame between the then and now to be roughly 4 years, give or take.

And yes, other Anon, how indeed... Ah, wait. It's magic, I don't gotta 'splain crap.

    18. Well i enjoyed this, i love romantic stuff.. I wish the bit where AJ/Fluttershy confessed their feelings for each other was more beefed out, but i guess the part where they dicussed it with Granny Smith and Caramel covered this.
Overall it was really good.. GJ

    19. >Applejack got Fluttershy pregnant
      >wat.
      >Celestia's magic did it
      >oh that makes sense now

      ReplyDelete
    20. Hahaha! That was a really cute story. I really enjoyed the 3rd part because that was where the main story was, but the epilogue was good too, if a bit too long. But I though it was a really cool piece of art. I love this story =)

Plus. applejack got fluttershy pregnant lol wat.
Celestia did it. Oh okay lol

    21. Adorable story, with comedy even. 100/10

      ReplyDelete
    22. Cute, though I thought the epilogue went on a bit.

In part 3 there's a mistake -- you referred to "o'couture". I think the phrase you wanted was "haute couture" -- that's what Fluttershy was requesting in Suited For Success. ("Haute" is pronounced "out" by most english speakers; the french say it more like "oat".)

      ReplyDelete
    23. Thank you, Escher. I tried Googling it but I couldn't find any sort of auto-corrections for it. Only thing that came up was o'coutour.

Thanks for your freaky sewing knowledge.

      ReplyDelete
    24. Uh, yeah, the pregnancy thing was kinda out of nowhere at all. There's about three different flavors of 'do not want' here.
-Literarily speaking, it's unnecessary to this story and would probably deserve its own. "A wizard did it" isn't a very satisfying explanation.
      -Biologically, my brain just exploded.
-I'm absolutely not inferring anything about your personal values, but that throwaway paragraph is uncomfortably close to >implying that women need to have children in order to be complete. Maybe you were just shooting for "everything they ever wanted", but...
I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

And, um, if you don't know how to spell french words and can't be arsed to look it up, don't use them. The phrase is 'haut couture'.

      ReplyDelete
    25. ...and that said, Fluttershy was completely misusing the term in the first place. Haute couture is not a style of clothing but a type of dress shop -- it means custom tailored clothes made to order, the opposite of pret-a-porter ("off the rack", which is what Fluttershy said Rarity's original design looked like).

      ReplyDelete
    26. Loved it, loved it, loved it! And I liked the ending just how you wrote it. Sure it coulda ended differently, but its YOUR story - write whatever you want!

    27. feel a little weird commenting as I hadn't read the main fic but I did read the side story and REALLY enjoyed it :)

A great Big Mac fic and playing with the Caramel clones that the artists have been having fun with lately was a nice touch. Particularly enjoyed the confrontation as the whole seen comes off as easy to picture pony on pony fighting. Very awesome... perhaps I'll actually read main fic at some point 6-_-.

      ReplyDelete
    28. loved every bit of the main fic, and the side story was cute too. like others, i'm a bit perplexed about the pregnancy, but i'm ok with it.

      ReplyDelete
    29. Hey, question, is there any in-show evidence that Spike can teleport anything other than scrolls? I kind of assumed the whole message teleportation thing was an effect of a specially prepared scroll rather than the standard effect of Spike's breath weapon.

      ReplyDelete
    30. @Escher

If I remember correctly, Spike accidentally sends a muffin or something to Celestia in one episode. Not sure which one though.

      ReplyDelete
    31. I had considered that, Escher, but I felt the point of contention lied with Ticket Master itself, where Spike sent out the scroll plus two tickets, and on record received a scroll plus six tickets. While still generally paper-esque, you'd have to make a strong case whether or not it was magically flattened out gold, seeing their shine and Equestria's penchant for magic and wonder.

Although with Over a Barrel, we saw him use his breath effectively, so really it could be an option for him. Right now, I'm saying his default as a baby Dragon is that he's enhanced with a delivery system by Celestia himself rather than specific scrolls or items having to be processed by magic to be sent.

In essence... it's like a D20 Dragon with various breath weaponry. Spike's been lucky so far not to accidentally use his actual flames, which is why Whoof gave Twilight enough components to magically 'seal' the area around his bed.

    32. Seth

Everything HB plans to write (we talk a lot afterall) is to take place in the same... "canon" universe.

As such, I do not see it entirely prudent to post them all in one post. That's a little ridiculous.

      ReplyDelete
    33. @Anonymous
I don't think so... Are you sure you aren't confusing that with a fanfic? In the fic world Celly's gotten quite a few baked goods via spike-o-gram.

In the shows though? I know they did the "flood of scrolls" gag in Griffon, but other than that I don't recall him sending anything by accident. He did burn some popcorn into charcoal and use his breath to make creme brulee, though.

      ReplyDelete
    34. @HiddenBrony
Well, I'm just making broad guesses of course, but the tickets are probably card stock with gold leaf, like the Willy Wonka golden tickets they're obviously designed to resemble. Either way I would assume that any appropriately thin, burnable material could be made sendable; the point is that I don't think there's any canon evidence of sending something that wasn't designed to be sent.

      ReplyDelete
    35. @Escher
Well, it is a fic. And Magic. Something about explaining it goes here.

Also, a blanket is generally fairly thin and burnable anyway. If anything, I'm setting the rules insofar for my own collective stories because the rules for Equestria are completely undefined.

...But I'm sure someone could ask Lauren herself about it. I mean, we've gotten more surprising answers from her.

      ReplyDelete
    36. Heh, I quite like how Butterscotch explains away the 'caramere clone' that kept popping up in 'Over a Barrel'. Heck, just a Big Mac centred fic in general was a nice change in pace to read.

      ReplyDelete
    37. Honestly, I think that you could have ended the story a few paragraphs earlier, and it would have been for the better.
It's just my opinion, but Fluttershy being pregnant kind of ruined it for me. It just seemed to come out of nowhere, and was completely unexpected. If that's what you were going for, kudos, it worked.
I liked the rest of the story, though. It's one of the best I've read on here. It could have used a bit more proof-reading, there were a few too many mistakes in there, some of them a little jarring. You seem to have gotten better, judging by the spin-offs (although it seems you referred to Twilight as male once or twice in Eggheads.).
On the whole, all three of the stories were very enjoyable, and I look forward to whatever you write next.

      ReplyDelete
    38. The only reason I read this story was because of the abnormally cute picture of Fluttershy here...
      ...
Damn the cuteness, Damn it.... erg...

I keep up with HB all the time but yeah, these are pretty fun stories. My only issue, time and time again, is lack of real conflict.

    41. I don't see how Call Him in the Morning can be before It Just So Happens, it seems to me like it should be the other way around, but whatever.

    42. Read it. Liked it.
What is O'Couture? Scottish Clan of fierce Fashion Fighters or whatnot? Haute Couture, maybe... :P Nitpicking, but it made me LULZ.
Loved AJ here, really loved - I want to ruffle her mane, yeah.
      Its your fault.
      5 stars.

    43. I dont think I ever dawwed as much as I did when reading 'Running Rings'. I would have liked to hear their wedding vows though, describing how they were wasnt enough for me.
Overall it was a very adorable and touching fic

    44. I liked the first story, but I found the side stories a lot less appealing, except maybe the wedding. You should also try to improve your grammar a bit. There is no such thing as "could of" or "would of" though it probably sticks out to me a bit more since I'm not a native English speaker.

      ReplyDelete
    45. I really liked this story. I haven't really thought about ApplexShy pairings that much, but this one is still really nice. Its well put together and it seems believable to me! Good job.
