I've always wondered how many lifesize plushies pop up under christmas trees out there. We've got companies like Symbiote still releasing things alot of people in the fandom collect. Are you someone who asks for stuff from them or other pony merchandise producers?

Oldschool ponies are apparently up next over in China, with a company called KKV picking up the license to produce merchandise of various characters from the early years, including Firefly, Applejack, Posey, and Twilight.

Your Heart and Mine
The ponies are superior. 15 years ago Lauren Faust bombarded us with this insanely cute model, and I'm not sure if anything else would have worked nearly as well. Would Friendship is Magic have been successful if they were all colorful cats? Dogs? Raccoons? Why did ponies work?
The weird thing is, a lot of pony fans don't even really like horses. I know I'm not a fan of them. But make them small, anime style, and give them cat features, and suddenly I'm hooked for a decade and a half. I've talked to so many people that share that same sentiment.
