    Successful Meetups

    North Dakota Meetup

A good sized group showed for the Equestria Girls showing at the Marcus Theater near the West Acres Mall in Fargo, ND.  There was even a human Pinkie Pie who in the words of Rairty, "Looked simply fabulous, Dahling." After the movie a number Bronies gathered at the Hot Topic in the mall and showed their financial support for the brand.

    Tuscon Meetup

The United Bronies of Tucson finally got a chance to watch Equestria Girls locally. We had an amazing turnout. A little too amazing, actually, because between us bronies and the "target audience" the theater sold out and a few bronies didn't get to watch with us (Major bummer! But, we are doing it again Tuesday for anypony that missed out). We must have been a good crowd, because even a few non-bronies joined us with their families and posed with us for the photo.

After the movie, we had lunch at Eegee's, a local sub shop and again packed the place. Then headed off to the mall to chill.

Thanks Tucson bronies for a great day and for making our largest event yet a huge success!

    Wisconsin Meetup

The Wisconsin Bronies celebrated our debut of Equestria Girls, albeit as the absolute last people to get it. Most of the group was already seated when I arrived, which was about 10 minutes before the show started. We all made fun of the commercials going on, and when I went to see it again the next day, the same commercials came on. If anyone else saw Monsters University pull-ups, Grey Poupon, Nesquik, Avengers, and the Infinite car commercial, I think it's time for some meme images!
Anyway, some of us had already seen it, but most of us remained celibate from the movie to witness it fresh together. Our group is a little rowdy, but we tried to at least just whisper our jokes to each other. We collectively make this stuff into Mystery Pony Theater with every meetup, probably to the dismay of genuine parents of young fans nearby. I learned later the theater actually received some complaints about us, and the next airing separated bronies from families. When "Helping Twilight Win the Crown" came up we all started stomping and clapping right with it. I gotta love these guys! These are the same people who, during our season 3 marathon, all sang along to A True, True Friend. We really get into this stuff!
After the movie, there were surveys for us to all fill out, but they had nowhere near enough for us all to do! Only half of us actually got to contribute. That was enough motivation for me to come back the next day. Gotta represent us right, after all.
After the movie, we all gathered together at a nearby hotel. I wish I had remembered to take a big group picture. We had almost 40 people, our biggest meetup yet. There was a little marathon of episodes with bigger songs in them, but that was more for a background. For about 5 hours, we all did everything. Art sharing, card trading, showing off figures, gaming, and I had the proud pleasure of introducing a lot of people to my Dominion set using My Little Pony (just about finished by the way, expect to hear from me soon on how to get yourself a copy). I commissioned a cake from a local bakery for the event, and it turned out absolutely brilliantly! Too bad I hadn't brought a proper knife for cutting it; it got rather butchered. People still devoured it with pleasure.
Overall a truly great experience, and we're already making plans for the next ones. I look forward to the next one!
