• Should We Do a Drawfriend/Writefriend Write off?

    With half of our content producers banned from /co/, is it still viable to hold one of these in the schedule start-of-month time? Is there still any interest even, after the largely successful Valentines day ship off?

    If enough people seem interested, I'll host it for March 7th (Monday of next week).   

    For those that don't know wtf I'm talking about, we did an event at the start of February (Found here), where Artists took Fanfics and drew stuff out of them, while Authors took Drawfriend stuff and wrote stories based on them.  It was pretty successful, though the non-fic people didn't like it much!

    We also did a similar Valentines Day Ship-Off, though the rules were more "just ship something".

    How many are interested in this for March?  We would probably have to throw the main thread on Fimchan or Ponychan, unless mods on /co/ unban everyone.

      Something st paddy's day related maybe? It could be a drawfriend/writefriend off involving writing/drawing party related stuff. just an idea.

      Sounds like a great way to get some content flowing! I'll consider trying it out as a writefriend, since I have no art skills whatsoever XD

      Maybe a weekly write/draw-off with the theme picked by a poll, then showing off the submissions at the end of the week!

      I think this has some awesome potential :)

      I think it would be fine, the people who are banned can just email the stuff to you and it can be posted directly here.

      I second St patrick's day (also by then even the people with two week bans will have their bans expired).

      Drawfriend stuff is actually my favourite stuff on your blog, even when I have an Account on Deviantart. And yeah, maybe you should go more for Fim/pony-chan. I dont´feel like going to /co/ anymore, even when I was lurking most of the time and did not get banned at all.

      I'm completely in support of this idea. There was also a fine suggestion that while the Friendoff have no set theme, it would be kind of us to focus on the works of those valued contributors who were unjustly given a 14 day ban. To show them that we still appreciate them.

      Maybe you could hold it on one of the alternate pony related chans for the time being so those who fell victim to the ponycaust can contribute?

      i'll do it, but without being confined to a theme

      i'm calling that heart-string-tugging piece by noel, with trixie talking to her dying mother, i'll use it as part of a flashback to build her character. it will be sad

      Personally, I think we should do drunken ponies as the general theme.

      We have a few fanfics and drawings on the subject. Heck, we could even encourage content unrelated to previously made stuff on this subject! We could use more drunken ponies.

      I like this idea.
      Maybe St. Patrick's theme would limit the content.

      Oh, also, in other news, remember the anti-shippers?
      There's a new kind of them, but instead of shipping, they hate the new content and contributors.

      I guarantee you those are the same couple of trolls who were starting the tripcode drama before, and constantly rail against random subjects of contributions. Best to just hide their posts, I do.

      no, i got a 14 day ban for posting in a thread. no name no thing, just posting. This was right as mods were deleting threads by the fistful and pony became an "offensive word"

      i attempted to appeal, it was reviewed and denied.
      sucks ass.
      i might go on the IRC to ask about this, since apparently they admitted the 14 day bans were harsh and were meant to really only be 3 day.

      I like this idea and the fact that the bans just happened is more of a reason to have an event to bring the community back together. After we all got splintered off to ponychan fimchan and other places there is almost no oc right now because 65% of the contributors got b& and aren't taking request or getting inspiration because of it.
      All we need to do is have everyone send there stuff to an email and then have it posted here. Because from what I have seen the guys that just go to one website but not /co/ also come here and that seems universal so this would be the best place to hold it. A sudden influx of oc would really help get things back on track!

      I agree with most of the people here. I think its a great idea and would bring at least some of the community back together.

      I can try to do some stuff. I seem to be out of groove since the "Pretty Wings" comic but I am willing to attempt another go with the art style anyway.

      All in all it sounds like a lot of fun.

      I'm still around and kicking, but i've pretty much left 4chan (except /g) the other pony boards don't really appeal to me.
      Personally i'm not banned and use SSL when on 4chan, but it's still not worth the hassle.. I caught a thread earlier today and all the magic and friendship appears to have gone anyway :(

      Working on something i read last week.. Hopefully it'll be quite good.. Wait and see though!
