• Newbie Artist Training Grounds III - Day 17

What time is it? Yeah, it's Reyn ti-- wait, a second. No, that's not right at all! It's pony time! Woohoo~! Welcome back, my faithful students! Phoe returns from a night in the forced recuperation tank to step once more onto the stage and urge you onwards with an unconquerable smile and good cheer! So rejoice, and... tick tock, tick tock, tick tock... what is that? Oh god, what is that?! It's the sound of 257 fretting but oh-so-punctual ponies! These combine with another 27 semi-late submissions from last night's theme to produce a running total of 6671 images. Which is a lot, as they say in Germany.

Briefly, I want to say thank you very much to Calpain for taking the reins for a day and giving me a chance to sleep and relax after two weeks of all-out pony pony ponying. But don't let that fool you! Just because I didn't proctor last night's prompt doesn't mean I haven't seen each and every one of your submissions. I wouldn't miss them for the world! Remember, I'm watching and reading every single thing that I can, so if you feel like I'm missing something or need a more personal touch, reach out to me at phoe@equestriadaily.com

Freaking out about deadlines is something I'm sure we all do quite a lot of. Even now, I keep glancing over to the little corner of my screen telling me, "Phoe you need to hurry or you're not going to have this post ready in time!" "I knoooooowwwww but I need to write more words, ok? They might need them!" And then I get done arguing with the clock and like eight minutes have passed and now it's even worse than it was, and aaaahhh, I'm so nervous!

But it's ok. Everything's fine. You're reading this now so it must be better, right? Obviously. Continuing on the emotional/expressive trend for the week we'll be keeping our theme tonight along those lines, but I want to let everybody know I am conscious of the fact that these are usually some of the more difficult prompts to work with, especially for those of you who don't like stretching or warping a theme. You won't always like a theme, and that's ok. If you want to skip over it, I understand. But all the same, I urge you to press on and try: Draw a pony broken up/Draw a pony mourning. Submit all entries here by 11:59 PM, Pacific time on Sunday, September 1. Goodness, I was this close to typing August again. How silly would that have been?
