• 91.8 "The Fan" Daniel Ingram Interview

    I was going to wait until the actual interview was a bit closer, but I keep getting emails, so I'll just do a reminder in a few days instead!

    Daniel Ingram will be doing a live interview on 91.8 "The Fan" on May 26, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm PST

    It's really neat to see him so involved with the community all of the sudden.  Hopefully he doesn't get bombarded like poor Lauren Faust used to on her DA page (Or still does apparently!).

    I will post a reminder on the top of the page the day before.

      The Fan interview with Tara Strong was a fuck story. The interviewer was inane, the questions were stupid, and it was painfully awkward to listen to.

      Oh, piss off. You're just milking this My Little Pony thing for its popularity for your stupid animu bullshit. The Tara Strong interview was even intentionally a primarily-anime interview, with My Little Pony tossed into the back; I remember, though, how you idiots got all excited when you realized that even the slightest possibility that an interview with Tara Strong would mean MLP-related material, which in turn ignited this fanbase, giving you probably your first real popularity among an audience of more than a few hundred people. Of course, those people are only there because of the MLP content -- they aren't staying for your stupid radio show, only because you are feeding their obsession for all thing MLP-related.

      TL;DR take your pandering bullshit elsewhere.

      Guest bookie is a ponyfan, he's been booking pony guests, advertising on pony websites, the fanbase.

      Sounds like someone's just upset that someone talked to Tara Strong about something other than her role as a pony.

      I don't know what the few other Anons are pissy about, the Tara Strong interview was pretty decent; more about voice work in general/general fan info with some entertaining anecdotes, than being purely pony-centric. It was more for fans of Tara's whole body of work. I did like her lil bit at the end where she went through 3 of her voices (including TS :D) for the host.

      All in all, looking forward to the Daniel Ingram interview. :)

      I don't care if you guys hate 91.8 The Fan, this is the first time I've ever heard of it. But if I get a chance to hear interviews from people I love, then FUCK YEAH! And Fluttershy:"yay"! I got to hear a Tara Strong interview! The her doing her 3 voices was Rainbow Dash:"so awesome"! However, I mostly preferred her first try, too bad she messed up the numbers. =(

      I'd like to say a few things. My name is Christmas. I book the guests for 91.8 The Fan. I am a huge FiM fan.

      That being said, our main interviewer has not seen any of FiM, but she is aware that is has a large fanbase. However, we are first and foremost a radio station that is focused on anime and video games. We do report on and talk about many things that we feel relate back to geekdom and general, but those are our main focus.

      Tara Strong was a very special case in that she's done so many things over her career as a voice actress that it would be impossible to focus on one thing for the 30 minutes that our interviews are often limited to. FiM just happens to be her most recent popular thing, and we figured that many of its fans would like to know about it. We're not pandering to anyone, we just believe that there are some people who would like to know about things that are going on in places they might not normally look.

      In addition, we have never asked any of our guests to promote their own upcoming interviews. That is up to their own discretion. If Daniel hasn't said anything about the interview that we will indeed be having on the 26, then that is up to him.

      tl;dr Those who want to tune in to the interview, enjoy. Those who don't don't have to. Yet another reminder here that we always record the interviews ourselves, and post them up within 2 days for any who missed it. Tara Strong's was up within 2 hours if I recall.

      Yes, the website is primarily for Animuuuu-uguuuuu-kyuuuuun.

      And yes, the Tara Strong interview was clearly more Anime-centric, Why? because clearly Tara Strong does more roles than FiM.

      Besides that, when I became a brony we were about love and tolerance, when did that change? why is there suddenly so much hatred in these comments? We're aware that the Tara Strong interview could have been more Poni, but we'd also be depriving other people listening to that interview for the Anime side if we only talked about one of her many roles.
