Dash's parents are totally gonna be super straight-laced and boring. Like, reading all the time and stuff. And she doesn't like them. But through some series of wacky events (read: plot devices!) the other ponies meet them. And they love Twilight. And Dash is sad. Then they all make up in the end.
Episode 20. I'll just assume the check's in the mail, Hasbro.
This should make for a really interesting episode if they do it right. I think I'm most interested in seeing Dash's parent's, for whatever reason.
I just really hope they don't shoehorn in Pinky Pie's or AJ's parents and just explain it as HERP DERP THEY WERE THERE ALL ALONG WE JUST NEVER MENTIONED THEM. I was pissed off enough when they failed to mention that Sweetie Belle was Rarity's sister until last episode.
I always thought they reproduced the old fashioned away, after all a couple of them have grandparents seen or mentioned. I am pretty curious to see what the folks look like, as do middle aged or older ponies look much different from the main characters, (after all Applebloom's teacher was I guess a teen in the Eighties, which would make her mid-thirties or so now and she doesn't *look* any older than the name cast).

I always viewed the main cast as young adults, the equivalent of people at the end of the teens or in their twenties, but I not surprised that their physical age is different. At least they are still the young adults of their world, which makes sense with the stories. I wonder if it means they don't live as long as humans (or merely mature faster). Or if unicorns, pegasai. and earth ponies have different lifespans.
There's a species of lizards that are all female... how that works I'll never know... but we could apply it to the ponies and noone would be the wiser if we ignore the laws of physics.
Afaik, Faust also claimed that mlp mature much slower mentally than humans. So, essentially, the main cast are all adults biologically, yet still have sleepovers and pillowfights.
3. The parents of the main cast are some of the original-cast ponies. (Probably won't happen, but wouldn't it be neat?)
4. Twilight Sparkle is related to Celestia and Luna, but not directly -- she's a distant cousin. And there are other members of the royal family around besides Celestia and Luna (probably with sky/astronomical names)
5. Fluttershy's parents will be EXTREMELY LOUD AND OUTGOING, to her great embarassment.
