Earlier a post went up pointing out that The Last Roundup was released on iTunes finally. Sadly, it looks like she was actually modified. Her voice is different, and Rainbow Dash no longer names her.
This was in the SD version, I am not sure if the HD on my laptop is different. I am currently re-downloading it in HD To double check on my computer.

UPDATE 2: As a reminder, The Friendship Express DVD is untouched, Derpy is still Derpy (At least in the ones we got, which are pretty much the same as far as we know)

I prefer the old voice, it sounded better when she spoke loudly. It would be better if they got Tabitha St. Germain to voice her with a more feminine voice. ( I don't think it's her in this version)
This reminds me of the SNL Sinead O'Connor deal 20 years ago. If you were lucky enough to catch it when it originally aired, you could see a small piece of television history that was later edited out.

I know I said I'm not as emotionally attached to this character as the others seem to be, but these edits were completely unnecessary. The old voice was perfectly fine... now she sounds too normal and coherent, I having a real difficult time looking at this new version and viewing this character as the accident prone mare they originally surprised us with. Heck, they might as well normalize the eyes too if they're going to "fix" more of what wasn't broke!
So originally everyone quickly got over and, for lack of a better term, used to Derpy's original voice being really, really weird. Switching to this voice therefore feels wrong. If this had been the original voice then no-one would be saying that it's wrong and a travesty.

I really don't care for the new voice at all. I thought the old voice was cute, and paired with Tabitha's backstory as to where she got the inspiration for it, it made Derpy even more endearing as a character.
I am okay with this Orwellian Retcon. At least now she sounds like a girl and people won't be whining about how "Derpy" makes fun of the mentally handicapped (to be fair, the original voice did make it sound like she had down syndrome, and I've known at least three separate people IRL with that particular disorder). Still, Ditzy Doo will probably always be voiced by BaldDumboRat in my own head-canon.
The voices sound really out of sync now. I don't mind the new voice but it could use some work. But they better keep her name or at least have it be ditzy.

Although, since she hasn't been given a new name yet, she's still Derpy (and always will be). I feel like the voice change should be enough to satisfy the angry persons, but still, it's a bit rediculous that this was an issue in the first place, and I hope the DVDs are unchanged.
I have a feeling that this would have been a roadblock somehow in distributing season 2 in some locations, like perhaps Canada. Maybe that's why season 2 hasn't been picked up by Treehouse. If that is the case, I am sorry to see Derpy go, but hopefully it means more ponies for the rest of the world.

Nooooo Whyyyyy!? I liked her old voice better. Sure, the new one sounds more "girly", but it lacks the "goofy" quality in her voice. And wtf was with Rainbow's voice at the beginning? It sounds so off.

This type of post-release censorship is extremely disappointing, but I can take solace in the fact that the unedited version exists and can still be referenced by fans.
Even putting Derpy aside (definitely less cute now on a couple lines, about the same on others), what really bugs me is that Dash's edited lines have a completely inappropriate tone for the scene. She's supposed to be frustrated and at the edge of her temper, but her first few lines are now said with a genuinely concerned tone.
This is what happens when 1% fucks it up for the other 99%.

I agree with most of the people here. The new voice does not sound like Derpy. I remember the thrill of seeing RD say her name and then Derpy sounding exactly like we imagined her, and this doesn't have that. I am just glad I got a copy of the episode before they took it down.
I hope that those people who raved over her voice and her name are happy. They have helped to ruin a very sweet and lovely character. Her voice before held the grace of a thousand angels singing at their peak, but now listen to it. You cannot hear those angels in her voice anymore. But what can be done I guess...
I think if it had been this way from the beginning there would not have been nearly as much controversy. Frankly I like this voice a little more, it is sweet and a little less... down syndrome sounding. >.> Also still prefer Ditzy Doo over Derpy.
I WAS looking forward to seeing Derpy in future episodes. But now that the voice has been changed to THIS, and the fact that she's no longer the Derpy I know and love, I don't know if I'll be able to watch the episodes with her in them anymore

The new voice is alright. I'm sure if that had been the original voice no one would have objected. I'm angry that they felt the need to change it though. Hasbro better be ready to defend their decision. It's no longer speculation, they've gone ahead and gotten rid of Derpy despite the general fandom's desires.

I really don't care for the new voice at all. I thought the old voice was cute, and paired with Tabitha's backstory as to where she got the inspiration for it, it made Derpy even more endearing as a character.

I am okay with this Orwellian Retcon. At least now she sounds like a girl and people won't be whining about how "Derpy" makes fun of the mentally handicapped (to be fair, the original voice did make it sound like she had down syndrome, and I've known at least three separate people IRL with that particular disorder). Still, Ditzy Doo will probably always be voiced by BaldDumboRat in my own head-canon.
The voices sound really out of sync now. I don't mind the new voice but it could use some work. But they better keep her name or at least have it be ditzy.

I don't mind the new voice too much, actually. However, I am rather annoyed (understatement) at the removal of the name. Although, since she hasn't been given a new name yet, she's still Derpy (and always will be). I feel like the voice change should be enough to satisfy the angry persons, but still, it's a bit rediculous that this was an issue in the first place, and I hope the DVDs are unchanged.

I have a feeling that this would have been a roadblock somehow in distributing season 2 in some locations, like perhaps Canada. Maybe that's why season 2 hasn't been picked up by Treehouse. If that is the case, I am sorry to see Derpy go, but hopefully it means more ponies for the rest of the world.
I wonder if this change is unique to itunes or if it's offically retconned for any Hub reruns? Either way I'm kind of sad. Also, I enjoyed Derpy's "male" voice.

Why do people ruin good things? Derpy could have been a fun side character...but guess not. Also, was the shout out really that big of a deal...did they really have to change it? Well glad I have the origional version on my DVR, and glad I pre-ordered the DVD...hope Hasbro doesn't put it on hiatus at the last minute so they can change it too. Seriously...so what if they said Derpy, so what if thats a fan name...I thought people would be happy to see fan names in the show. But I guess legal mumbo jumbo prevents Studio B & possibly Hasbro from having fun like that huh....said day...sad day indeed. Even putting Derpy aside (definitely less cute now on a couple lines, about the same on others), what really bugs me is that Dash's edited lines have a completely inappropriate tone for the scene. She's supposed to be frustrated and at the edge of her temper, but her first few lines are now said with a genuinely concerned tone.

I agree with most of the people here. The new voice does not sound like Derpy. I remember the thrill of seeing RD say her name and then Derpy sounding exactly like we imagined her, and this doesn't have that. I am just glad I got a copy of the episode before they took it down.

I hope that those people who raved over her voice and her name are happy. They have helped to ruin a very sweet and lovely character. Her voice before held the grace of a thousand angels singing at their peak, but now listen to it. You cannot hear those angels in her voice anymore. But what can be done I guess...
I think if it had been this way from the beginning there would not have been nearly as much controversy. Frankly I like this voice a little more, it is sweet and a little less... down syndrome sounding. >.> Also still prefer Ditzy Doo over Derpy.
I WAS looking forward to seeing Derpy in future episodes. But now that the voice has been changed to THIS, and the fact that she's no longer the Derpy I know and love, I don't know if I'll be able to watch the episodes with her in them anymore
