    Cereal says this should be rumor tagged, so rumor tag it is!

      highly doubtful after the way the season one premiere had ended. it's only one image. We don't know the context of it at all. It's not very realistic to make assumptions so soon.

      The first image looks to be a screen shot from a new intro. But as far as i know there are no plans to to re do the current one, just to update the music.
      A another thing is these were taken off a CRT display, the scan line in image 2 is a easy give away. And no production studio uses those any more. The time code in image one is also in the wrong place it's usually at the bottom.

      I like to think all three are legit. Makes total sense in fact.

      The train thing is a revamped graphic for the revamped intro song. And that isn't the middle of Ponyville, have a better look you guys.

      And the others are for the scary episode, which coincides with the Halloween one, which coincides with the Luna one... since the artists got a red-light from the start to Luna in 'normal' episodes, since the executives didn't want her too much involved from the start (because of her being Princess of the Night and stuff, clashes with their ideas of a show for little girls I guess), so it makes total sense to make her appear in a Halloween episode, so she can actually have a large appearance, and be scary without actually being evil (joking around for the occasion).

      And the title "Nightmare Night" just seals the deal.

      And once again certain members of the fandom try and impose their own beliefs about what Luna should be. People, if you chose to envision Luna as something and she doesn't match it, that's your problem. So many people have ruined Luna by hyping her up far too much. Whether this is fake or not doesn't matter; the fact that so many people are whining already about what Luna might be like just proves that people need to understand that fanon and canon are totally different things. Don't feel butt-hurt when something that you've fabricated doesn't come true.

      I think that picture is from one those Twilight-halucinations, after she heard that Princess Luna is comming to Ponyville for a visit:
      "Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! She is comming to go all 'Empire strikes back' on our plots!" or an episode where everypony of the Mane6 is imagining what will happen, when she comes.
      And in the end of the episode she really visits Ponyville and says "Hello". lol

      For the first picture:
      There is a lot of flank-load of different chars in it (all three CMCs, BigMac, Granny Smith, Twilight, Spike, THE BALLOON) for it to be legit (or at least from an episode and not a commercial)

      The one with Twilight and Spike is from the opening, the background no idea.
      The Luna one is obviously just a fanart or something, doesn't look like the tv show.
      And the one with Derpy ... I don't think they would put her so much in the focus.

      OK, analysing - I agree with the assessment that the first shot is a revamped intro, and that the second and third are from 'Nightmare Night'

      Ponyville's train station? The half-timbered/thatched architecture of the buildings in the background certainly matches Ponyville. The station building (identified by the little locomotive signs) is also thatched. Nice use of lamp-standards and potted plants to suggest a communal space.

      Four CMC in the train? Not sure. Scoots, Applebloom and Sweetie Belle are definately in the pale-blue plank-wagon at the back, but the fourth filly appears to be riding on the balcony of the dark-blue van directly ahead of them, so maybe, or maybe not. However, there seems to be a pony visable in every window of the train - assuming this is legit, there should be a lot of fun in freeze-framing to identify them all.

      Lyra's tail? Please oh please oh please!

      Luna looks...badass. And the dramatic lighting suggests a lightning strike off-stage-left. Evil or simply awesome? - the suspense may kill us!

      And now the coup-de-grace...THE DERPED ONE!

      Derpy appears to be messing up a game of apple-bobbing, popping out of the water much as Gummy is inclined to do, except with the plug to the tub in her mouth - is this a nod to the 'Derpy raided your fridge' meme?

      Use of the name 'Derpy' in the storyboard rather than 'Ditzy' may polarise fans who disagree on whether the name 'Derpy' is casually cruel and offensive. I'm on the fence with this, as 'Derpy' sounds more affectionate to me than 'Ditzy', but I can see where the argument comes from - for the same reason, I doubt she'll be identified as such verbally in the episode - much as we love that lil' grey pegasus, people outside the fandom may not be so understanding.

      Paper bags worn on head and hooves...that's a creative costume Derpy.

      And...is that Dinky? Even if you assume exaggerated perspective, that pony behind Derpy looks extremely small - I mean, filly small.

      So, unicorn filly, shaggy mane, close proximity to Derpy...and analysing the writing at the bottom suggests either a typo or a moment of confusion on the part of the script (could it have been 'Dinky reacts - glares at Derpy', but the storyboard artist flubbed) - I know some people have suggested it's Rarity, but not only can I not envision Rarity apple-bobbing, the mane seems too short and mussed to be Ponyville's resident fashionista - however, the tail does appear to be coiffed in Rarity's signiture style.

      But if this pans out as I believe it will, we may get a subtle nod to Derpy's fandom daughter...here's hoping.

      And...regardless of whether that's Dinky or Rarity, she seems to be wearing a vampire costume (that appears to be a raised cowl around her neck, reminiscent of a cape, though I can't decide on whether or not the bat-balloon is also part of her outfit - the cross-stitching at the neckline also evokes a sort of 'Bride of Dracula' dress (which honestly is more in keeping with Rarity than Derpy) - either way, meme time!

      If these are all genuine screencaps/production materials, then this may be an idication of how the creative team are going to throw out homages to the fans - little insert moments with fan-favourite characters which to other audiences will just be amusing asides, like Berry-Punch slurping the punchbowl in 'Call of the Cutie', or the flower-ponies comic overreactions. If so, and if it doesn't go so far as pandering directly to us, then I'm not only happy, I can practically feel the love radiating from my screen!

      Just noticed in the train station pic, that behind the balloon's basket you can just see the locomotive, complete with a pony engineer (striped hat and all) - interesting deviation from 'Over a barrel'.

      Basically nothing can be construed from 1/24 of 1 second out of a 22 minute TV show - and they know this. See the teasers for the second season for example.

      Luna looks ridiculously fake here to the point where you'd actively have to be trying to believe it to be fooled.

      The lines are far too thick and don't match the color of the things they are outlining like the rest of the show. The face shape is jagged and horribly wrong. The mouth and eyes are not remotely in the show's style. The hair is wrong as well. The only thing that could possibly be from the show is the back portion of the robe (which could be modified from a Zecora vector or something).

      The image with the balloon and the train? Not buying it at all. Far too easy for someone to do a little cut-and-paste, and then degrade the final image to try and hide the edit. Rubbish work.

      The Luna image - considering the source, I'm inclined to throw the BS flag on that one too. But it might just be the diamaond in the rough.

      Final verdict: Meh, we'll see. Not bothered.

      I think that "Derpy reacts" has to do with Derpy looking down into the water, as there is a down arrow next to her head.

      Pretty sure that's Rarity. Not sure why it is formatted as such, but I have no idea what else (Ry) could mean.

      If you look closely neither the hair, the shape of her face, or the eye color matches with Trixie, but it does with Luna.

      I don't think the pony behind Derpy is Rarity. The eyes are completely the wrong shape - they're 'standard' circular instead of Rarity's opal-shaped eyes. And she's got too few eyelashes (although what a vampire-queen would be doing with fake eyelashes is anyone's guess).
      Also, Rarity wouldn't want to risk that beehive getting wet, especially as she'd have taken hours to get the thing just perfect for her, even if it doesn't fit her costume. A filly wouldn't really care that much, though, surely?

      I'm tempted to believe that that filly is just a normal 'background' filly, and Derpy just spoiled her fun. I would like it to be Dinky, but it is at least 50% unlikely.

      The other two, I'm unsure about. It does seem strange that images have been weaned so early to us if they are official, if not for hyping us up with LUUUUUUUUUUUNAAAAAAA.
      It could always be somebody in Hasbro snapping a picture of somebody else watching the actual episode, in which case, they are 100% legit.
      Once again, unlikely, but possible.

      The train does seem particularly odd, though, given that such a vehicle has never appeared in Ponyville itself.
      Oh, well. Merchandise opportunity!

      I'm going to reserve judgment on the 'screenshots' until the episode(s) airs, but I think that the storyboard image is more legitimate at the moment.

      It's Nightmare Night, right? Luna comes to Ponyville in 'evil' costume, Twilight sees her and lightning goes off in the background as she grins evilly and her eyes glow red and shit and frightening organ music plays in the background. Twilight says "N.. Nightmare Moon! She's Back!"

      THEN ADVERTS FOR 50 YEARS BECAUSE THE HUB HAS A LARGE AMOUNT OF ADVERTS FOR NO REASON!

      Then back to the show, where it repeats "N.. Nightmare Moon! She's Back!" with the organ music, which cuts out as Luna takes down the hood and is actually very eloquent and kind.

      Then she tries doing nice things to get rid of her bad rep but ponies run away and junk and Luna gets all sad and shit.

      Then THE SOLUTION happens, and Luna gets cheered and thanks Twilight and friends before leaving for Canterlot, and the moral is about not judging a book by it's cover.

      Guessing they're fake, especially the train one...but even if the Luna pic's real, it could likely be from a piece of backstory, or some kind of dream/fantasy sequence. At any rate, I don't foresee her being evil again (or for too much longer...) Whatever happens with her, though, I have no fear of it being less than great and pleasing to us. Even if she's not exactly the way someone's imagined her.

      My theory on Luna is that it starts off looking real, with Luna being all menacing and stuff, and then all of a sudden, Princess Celestia wakes her up to prepare for Nightmare Night and her trip to Ponyville. Cue opening theme.
