Very pleasant thus far, nicely paced. Don't know how Dawn and Twilight are connected yet but as of yet but the journey is enjoyable at this point.

Author here, and let me say, I'm excited this got posted! This is the first piece of fiction I've written, so I didn't expect it to get here, much less that it's gotten *checks rating*
HOLY CRAP, 4.8 STARS ALREADY?! I haven't even gotten to the good stuff yet!
And yes, it's incomplete, but I tried writing it as one, complete document. It...didn't read so well. So, I'm rewriting it into chapters, and there's at least 6 or 7 left to go. Don't worry, I know where I'm going and (mostly) how I'm getting there, so stay tuned!
This is really quite good! It's nice, it feels fitting with the canon story, and it's got me itching for more. Can't wait to see the next chapters!

Yeah, I wasn't really subtle there, was I? I've got lots of other stuff hidden away, though. For instance, did anyone catch the TRIPLE reference (a reference that references two references) in the prologue?
And Chapter 4 is up! Sorry it took so long to write, guys. The new season kinda messed with what I was planning.

Don't worry too much about the history that the new season introduced, just consider yours an alternate history or something :)

I know, but it just feels...weird...to ignore something that's been introduced as canon. Then again, the little we learn about Discord in the first episode completely wrecks my story, so I guess it's for the best.
I hate to say this, but the last chapter was really weak. These new antagonists are bland and kinda unoriginal, with basically no personality. I cringed through the dialog bits where they each chew through the scenery to introduce themselves.

I have recently started writing a fan fic series that involves a character dawn shimmer, but i was thinking of renaming him dawn star. he would be an ancestor of twilight sparkle, one of Celestia's best friends ever, and luna's student and friend before the nightmare moon incedent.
Seeing the name in your sotry surprised the cap outa me. I am off to read the rest of the story so far. If I like it and think it will work may i contact you about altering my story to fit your fan cannon?

Actually I do not think it will work after reading the rest of what you have.
I will still follow your story however as I like the style and the story. I might throw in a reference if it seems appropriate.
