I never heard anything about minty besides she's from an older gen... I want moar background ponies not revived older gens or recolors.
TaoBao gets all the toys early because it's a website based out of Hong Kong, where all the toys are made. So people working at the factory swipe them up as soon as they're off the line and sell them on TB.
Minty was one of my favorite ponies when I was a little girl! :)

It seems like this is a good one to release around Christmas, there's been an association with Minty and Christmas in the past after all.
I wish they made the new pony toys look more like they do in the show : /

Of course many of the fans of the older gens are liking it. Well, besides the purists. lol It's cool, the more ponies the better.
I've been a part of this wonderful lifestyle for about 4 months now, and I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to this more than anything else I've seen leaked thus far. Minty 4 Life!

Minty is best G3 pony, of course though, that's not exactly saying much. Back then, she was basically a less-competent version of today's Pinkie Pie. But, she had an obsession with socks. I personally wouldn't mind seeing her as a character in Season 2.

She would be perfect as one of Pinkie Pie's party-loving friends.

First, you guys do realize that most, if not all, of the stuff that shows up on Taobao has been stolen from the Hasbro factories, right?
Second, I asked Hasbro about this pony. They said Minty was part of some limited 'seasonal' release and would not be put out on the mass market. I haven't been able to determine just what seasonal release they're referring to, though. Maybe she was a MLP staff Xmas prezzy or something.
