• Poll Results: Who Has the Best Singing Voice

Woops, forgot to take this down last night.  I'm actually not that surprised Rarity won.  Her VA is awesome even when she isn't singing.

Her singing VA isn't her dialogue VA.

    2. I was expecting more votes for Fluttershy, her singing voice is so adorable >w<

    3. I'm a little surprised by the results, actually. Rarity's singing VA is quite good, but she doesn't sound as much like hte dialogue VA as the others (IMO). Rarity's dialogue VA was an award-winning Canadian stage actress.

I voted for Rainbow, myself. I might be biased finding Dash so awesome in pretty much every way, but although her singing voice isn't the most traditionally melodious, she does have a cute singing voice. And Rainbow's singing VA is her dialogue VA, which is perhaps explained by the fact she's actually a singer in a band up here in Canada, as well.

    4. you guys realize that we've only heard Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rarity sing, right?

    5. Hmm. I voted Fluttershy myself, her voice is so soft and sweet...

Anyway, I'd like to make a suggestion!

Poll: Which type of pony do you like more?

      1: Earth Pony
      2: Pegasus Pony
      3: Unicorn Pony
      4: Whatever Celestia is...

      Just an idea...

    6. Now I can't remember off the top of my head, but...

Don't Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy have the same VA?

So do Applejack and Rainbow Dash IIRC.

    7. I too, would like to make a suggestion.

Poll: What other current series on The Hub would you want MLP to cross over with?

      Transformers Prime
      Dan Vs
      GI Joe: Renegades
      Pound Puppies

    8. I'm somewhat surprised by the results. I knew that Rarity was bound to win, but I kindda thought that there would be a bit more love for Twilight. Since I thought she has a great voice actor.

      But she lost to Applejack.
      lolwut

    9. no flutterguy??? that was the best singing ever

    10. Only Twilight, Rarity, and Pinkie have even had songs. How did Applejack manage to beat Pinkie Pie?

    11. @Samuel

We had a good sample of Twilight's singing voice in Winter Wrap-Up.

Dash's singing voice can also be heard in that song, as well as briefly in Art of the Dress. Same goes for Applejack.

Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy have the same dialogue VA, yes. However, that actress only does the singing voice for one of them (Fluttershy). Pinkie's singing voice is provided by a different VA.

Rainbow and Applejack share a dialgoue VA as well, and she also does both their singing voices. She's a singer herself, so I imagine that's why.

Twilight and Rarity both have seperate dialogue and singing VAs.

    13. Applejack barely has any lines in Winter Wrap up.
but those few lines were enough to convince me <3

    14. Samuel:

Winter Wrap-Up. We heard everyone sing, at least for a few lines.

It's a bit stunning that Andrea Libman sings for Fluttershy (who sounds a bit different while singing) but not for Pinkie Pie (who sounds extremely similar).

Anyhow, this was a tough decision between Twilight and Rarity. Ultimately, I chose Twilight due to the ending stanzas of Winter Wrap Up. "I want to belong, so I must do my best today...do my best today!" My heart, it melts. @_@

    17. How about, which background character would you like to have a speaking role?

      ReplyDelete
    18. Ashleigh Ball got a combined 30% across two characters. That's pretty cool.

    19. @Vanilla Medley
She needed to be about twenty percent cooler.

    20. @Star Whistle

Nah; she's already the coolest one there, lol.

    21. Alright clearing things up because no one seems to know

Applejack and Rainbow have the same singing and talking VA. She does both.

Rarity and Pinkie/Fluttershy and Twilight have different VAs for normal dialogue and singing dialogue.

Personally I think Rarity's VA is alright but she doesn't sound like the normal voice actor as much as the other ponies do. And yes we've heard the song VA for them all in winter wrap up. Also I've seen some songs from the AJ/dash VA who is in a band, she's actually pretty good.

Her speaking voice is heavily composed in a way that wouldn't fit a singing voice - at least not in "Art of the Dress", which is her personal song and not a performance for public consumption.

    23. Someone needs to add SweetieBell on that list now.

I wouldn't be surprised if her cutie mark had to do with that amazing voice of hers.

    24. I'm not honestly sure who I would have voted for on this one. (Thank goodness Sweetie Belle wasn't an option, to make it even more difficult.)

When I first heard Pinkie Pie sing "Giggle at the Ghostly," I was HELLA impressed with her voice. Since then, we've gotten to hear everyone sing, which just thrilled me to itsy bitsy pieces because I'm a musical theater freak, and THEY ALL CAN SING. =D ('Cept Sheen. :p Can't help myself.)

So yeah, anyway. They're all awesome. At first I thought I'd have had to have gone with Pinkie, but Twilight, Rainbow, and Applejack can sure give her a run for her pony-money. Rarity too, definitely for sure. AND Fluttershy, 'cause again, they all rock...and I guess we've heard the least of Flutter, which isn't surprising. But also unsurprisingly, it's a sweet, lovely voice. ^^ I eagerly look forward to more singing ponies...!!

    25. And then Rainbow Dash sang in Winter Wrap Up and the Gala episode.

      Obvious winner is obvious.

    26. I personally think Sweetie Belle has the best voice, but she wasn't on the list.
