First impressions are extremely important. Equestria Daily is now the most popular MLP fan site, so it really needs to keep a good front for the newcomers. This is where I was introduced to the community, and I can honestly say, if that comic were the first thing I had saw when initially visiting this website, then I would probably be among the ranks of the haters right now. You can tell that people care pretty deeply about Equestria Daily by the volume of the response, so I'd treat it as a good thing but cautiously. The best thing to do now is either see if the rage blows over in response to removal (within 30 minutes) or not. If it doesn't, make a more visible apology post in the form of a link at the top where you admit you screwed up and promise you'll try to exercise better standards.

The outside world is always watching, looking for something they can make a huge deal over and I think that posting comics like that without proper oversight can attract unwanted attention or otherwise create an unwanted and obscene misrepresentation of brony culture.

You can tell that people care pretty deeply about Equestria Daily by the volume of the response, so I'd treat it as a good thing but cautiously. The best thing to do now is either see if the rage blows over in response to removal (within 30 minutes) or not. If it doesn't, make a more visible apology post in the form of a link at the top where you admit you screwed up and promise you'll try to exercise better standards.
