ReplyDeleteBesides Pie or Cake are not easy things to make. Cupcakes would have been simpler but Rainbow doesn't know how to Bake. (Cupcakes are evil! Necessarily at that.)
Rainbow Dash should learn to harden her cloud home up a bit.
But look at it this way, at least she gets free electricity and plumbing. Just don't stand beneath her home when she has to go to the bathroom.

ReplyDeleteAlso, this story is awesome. Everyone's delightfully in character (I love seeing Dash in character, she seems to be hard to get right) and the prose's comedic timing is excellent. Very much like the show, actually.
I loved the fiasco in Rainbow's house, not once but TWICE. The second time I was rolling. 8D
Also that fun multi-cut to everyone in Ponyville after Dash's *ahem* tragedy.
Um...I thought RD already knew that AJ could bake pies. She was loaded with them at the GGG, remember?

ReplyDeleteThis is Rainbow Dash we're talking about here. But what I'm curious about is her house. I mean cloudsdale has a factory with heavy 'machines', and you don't see those falling through. Anyways, it's a very fun read!

ReplyDeleteI wonder about that too, this is the second fanfic to mention solid objects falling through Dash's house.
I expect the machinery in Cloudsdale is made up there out of material that can sit on clouds, or has some sort of spell on it or something.
Stuff falling through clouds is more Rule of Funny than it is what I actually think would happen. Surely Pegasi would have found a way to get around that by now. :P

ReplyDeleteBesides it's my guess that Rainbow Dash slapped her house together out of random clouds without thinking about the construction process for too long.
Thus while it looks neat, it's shoddily made out of not very solid clouds that can probably only hold a pegasi's/pegasuses weight. If it's anything like the pie she was attempting to make it's kind of understandable if you take fridge logic to it.
Is it any wonder why Fluttershy lives on the ground?
When I first read the title and saw the pic, I figured this was going to be a DashxSoarin ship; with a plot about how Rainbow tries to make a pie, and then gives it to Soarin at a show, and then while he's eating it he drops it causing Rainbow to spring into action and rescue the pie.
ReplyDeleteThen she realizes she should have let the pie drop because she doesn't know flour from flowers, and the aforementioned confectionery disaster makes Soarin sick after he eats it. Thus causing him to miss the next show which in turn means Rainbow has to step up and be a temporary Wonderbolt in his place.
Actually that could be done pretty well in the right hands, I can't write for shit though.
